Ha bajado un tantito la intensidad. Aunque no mucho y me sigue gustando.

Another great volume. This series is only getting better and better. Can't wait to get to the point where anime ended, so that's why I'm trying to read these as fast as I can. On to the next one!

hmm. vol. 4 is kind of all over the place and sadly doesn’t feel like a natural progression from the last volume at all. it jumps at the chance to introduce a new villain without really allowing the reader any time to process everything that happened in the last volume. that said, shu tsukiyama is a terribly fascinating character nonetheless and that ending is downright horrifying (in a good way lol). i’m excited to see where the story goes from here

Tsukiyama’s restaurant from hell had me so worried for poor Kaneki. Super creepy, but the 'gourmet ghoul' honestly caused some of the most exciting scenes yet.

Better than the previous volume, but still nothing too amazing in my opinion. I did however really enjoy the duelling scene towards the end and the cliffhanger was pretty good! I am going to make my way through this entire series as I'd really like to watch the anime, but hope to read the series in its entirety before I do so!

Tokyo Ghoul volume 4 is all about world building. Giving time for other characters to be introduced and learning about the life of other ghouls.

This volume introduces Shuu Tsukiyama, who just so happens to love eating other Ghouls. He also host a dinner in which ghouls simply tear apart other humans/ghouls and eat them. Pretty screwed up, huh? The rest of the volume also focuses on Kaneki learning to become a fighter. It's pretty interesting to see a training session and that he just doesn't become a warrior overnight. Always refreshing.

Good: The volume gives us Shuu Tsukiyama, the psycho, and for that alone it's entertaining. I also loved watching Kaneki grow and begin to realize this world isn't as simple as black and white, and there's a lot of grey morality questions.

Bad: It's slower paced and probably the least action volume. Not that it's a horrible thing but it feels dramatically slowed down compared to the last few volumes.

Overall another solid volume. Not mindblowing but this was pretty kickass. I'ma go with a 3.5 out of 5.

Every book in this series has become more exciting and thrilling and I am so excited to see what will happen in this series. There were a few more fight scenes in this one and I thought it was done well but not as well as the previous ones. The new characters are really intriguing and I can’t wait to see them again. And the character interactions were all really good and I liked the bit of humor in this one. Also, the ending plot twist was everything! I loved the ending and it has me really excited to continue this series.

Am I the only one who likes Tsukiyama? Well, he is hilariously crazy!
I liked the humor in this one. I really enjoy interactions between Kaneki and Touka.)
Kaneki learning martial arts? There is nothing more interesting than a sweet guy trying to learn how to fight. And becoming badass as he goes.)

3.5 stars.

The only reason I didn't rate this much higher is because, even though it's as important an instalment as all the others, not much happened. I don't mind, but since I'm a reader that prefers loads of action, this felt a little less exciting. Nevertheless, this is still an amazing series and I can't wait to keep going.

SERIE TOKYO GHOUL vol. 4

1^ lettura 17 marzo 2018
Davvero interessante. Ora voglio proprio vedere cosa succederà.

2024 review: bloody and intense. Kanenki still hasn't lost his innocence and he truly didn't learn anything from wha happened to him in the very first chapter. he lets his guard down so easily, but I know that things are about to change.

Shu Tsukiyama! I hate that guy.
He's one of the new characters we're introduced to, and he's a whole new level of insane and crazy. He's called a gourmet ghoul for a reason.
The manga is getting bloodier, and everyone seems to talk about Rize's death. and it seems like that events that happened in the first chapters aren't what it seems. It's getting more interesting!

TSUKIYAMA SHU, my favorite fabulous creepy pretty boi is finally here bringing the start of Gourmet arc with him! Major Hannibal vibes, as always.
In this volume we also meet Itori and Souta (man. the amount of foreshadowing right here) and find out more about the circumstances of the accident that resulted in Rize’s death and Kaneki’s transformation. Having finished the entire series, it’s so interesting to follow Kaneki’s growth and notice all the small things that I’ve missed on the previous read through.
Btw, the art has already improved tremendously since the beginning of the series.

I'm not sure if Tsukiyama is more charming or creepy. Probably both. And yes, I had forgotten how disturbing the whole "ghoul restaurant" scene actually was. *shivers* Also, I had promised myself I wouldn't read all the four volumes all at once and, guess what... I didn't keep my promise. I am not to be trusted when books and patience are involved. I neeed volume 5 right now.
