When this book ended with a huge cliffhanger (like mid-scene), I eagerly went looking for volume two. Bad news: there isn't one! And given that this book was published in 2015, I'm not going to hold my breath. Forget that Lacey was incredibly immature to the point of being unbelievable, not having anything even resembling a resolution seems almost unforgivable. If there was book two, I'd happily rate this higher.
An interracial romance with WWBM. A white female is assigned to write a book about the best African-American quarterback ever had. She had no use for him and thought he was an arrogant jerk. She wanted nothing to do with athletes. Everything was written from her POW. I don't know what he thought her nor did she. They had no pleasant interactions.
The book tried the enemies to lovers trope. It didn't work because you knew she wanted him from the beginning. The book badly needed an editor. Almost 90% of the book has no over sexual activity, then that's all that went - nothing sensual or sexy. She thought of parts of their bodies in the most vulgar terms.
Just as they engaged in sex, the book ended in telling you that Part Two was coming. I guess the author saying "This is the first volume of an interracial new adult romance series" is a cute way of saying this is a Terrible Cliffhanger coming! It's been over 7 years since the book was first published and there's still no Part Two. Total Waste Of Time!
Is it a cliffhanger if you know it is there from the beginning?
Wealthy healthy young athletes party hard. Lacey sees a different side to Myles when she co-writes his autobiography. He is hard working and dedicated to the community. Sexy times ensue.
I love romance novels. I recently purchased a kindle and came across this title and decided to check it out. I'm glad I did! Can't wait for the next part!!!
