There’s more than meets the eye on Twin Moon Ranch, home to a pack of shapeshifting wolves willing to battle for life and love.
* A paranormal romance with adult content / 37,000 words. *
USA Today and Amazon best-selling author Anna Lowe loves putting the "hero" back into heroine and letting location ignite a passionate romance. She likes a heroine who is independent, intelligent, and imperfect — a woman who's doing just fine on her own. But give the heroine a good man (not to mention a chance to overcome her own inhibitions) and she'll never turn down the chance for adventure, nor shy away from danger.
On any given weekend, you might find her hiking in the mountains or hunched over her laptop, working on her latest story. Either way, the day will end with a chunk of dark chocolate and a good read.
“There’s more than meets the eye on Twin Moon Ranch, home to a pack of shapeshifting wolves willing to battle for life and love.” - The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch Series
Desert Blood is book two in The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch by Anna Lowe.
I LOVED return to the Twin Moon Ranch pack. I was blown away and sucked in from beginning to end. I like how ALowe brings her characters together. She has a way of getting the reader hooked into the emotional journey the characters take. Cody and Heather complemented each other perfectly and the way their relationship develops was fabulously done. The story flows, with a rich sense of scenery and world building.
Desert Blood is an Amazing and Fabulous read in The Twin Moon Ranch series. I am hooked on this series and author. I can’t wait for more. I highly recommend this series and each book so far can stand-a-lone.
*Disclaimer:I received a complimentary copy free of charge from Anna Lowe with the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments and ratings are my own.
(RabidReads.com)Hot cowboy werewolves anyone? I found this book after reading a review on a blog. I am completely blank on which one, but the blogger did assure me that I could read these out of order. She was right, I had no problems and I ended up being glad I took the chance.
Heather is a young school teacher that gets dragged out by her friend to a club to meet her friend’s new man and his friend. Heather takes one look and knows evil when she sees it. She’s able to escape, but her friend isn’t as lucky. Heather takes off and drives. And then drives some more, ending up in a small town in Arizona. She meets Cody, a gorgeous man that lives on the ranch where she finds a temporary job as a teacher for the children that live there. Cody is everything she has always wanted in a man. On Cody’s part, he looks at Heather and thinks, MATE. That’s because Heather has exchanged one supernatural being for another after her escape. Cody is a werewolf and is son of the alpha. And it’s against every pack rule for him to date a human, much less mate with one.
Cody was a good character. He’s been looked over by his father in favor of his older brother, and never given any responsibility. When he was younger, he was a bit of a womanizer, but now he wants to prove himself to his father. When women are being found drained of blood and mutilated, he starts working to find the killer. Heather was smart enough to know she had to run when she did. She is also smart enough to know a good man when she meets one. Of course she doesn’t know what Cody really is.
This ended up being a good romance with plenty of smexy times. It’s a short read and really probably is more in the novella category, although it’s not billed that way. I enjoyed the characters-the best part-and the action that is involved. There’s lots of peripheral characters that you know have already either had a book or short story written about, previous to this read. I am really interested in one of the characters named Kyle, who is involved with the murder investigation, so I will probably be reading his book titled, Desert Fate. Keep in mind it’s an adult read. Recommended for paranormal romance readers.
I have to say I'm really enjoying this series. A spunky heroine and a sexy man put together in a story that really flows, enjoyable to read and no niggling editing error that can flip you out if your book mind set. I read this in one sitting because I really enjoyed the story and was totally engrossed in it. Loved it. Highly recommended.
I loved being back with the pack at Twin Moon Ranch! This is Cody's story! Once you start reading it you will be unable to put it down. I loved how Anna has brought her characters together. I loved how Anna Lowe brought her characters together! Fantastic story I am looking forward to the third book in this story!
I received the ARC for an honest review. I loved it! After taking a 4 week break from reading, I knew this would be the first book I would read. This is book 2 in THE WOLVES OF TWIN MOON RANCH series and I am anxiously awaiting book 3. Cody is the ranch's playboy, charmer and 2nd son of the alpha. He's tired of playing the role. Heather is a woman one the run from what she can only describe as vampires. She knows there is no such thing but is scared for her life. She hides away in the small town in Arizona and gets a temporary job as a teacher at the Ranch. She can tell no one of her fear, they'll think she's lost her mind. Cody finally overcomes his need to stay away from Heather. She's human and there can be no future for them but the pull is strong. His secret is too big to share with a human but once the hook up the sparks fly. She's afraid of something so Cody needs to go slow but with his wolf screaming Mate, he's got a small battle on his hands. When Heather's monster finally finds her, all secrets are out but will his pack accept her and can she accept them?
Heather´s on the run after a terrorizing experience back home involving Vampires, and she hasn´t found a place to take a breather, yet. Until she happens upon the Twin Moon Ranch, and a temporary job as the teacher on the ranch. What she didn´t expect was how she´d react to Cody.. Cody knows the expectations his father has on him, as the son of the Alpha. No humans, time to settle down, but what is he to do when his wolf wants what´s forbidden? Can he resist the tempting Heather? Shifters, action and smutty fluff in a great combo. Can´t wait for Tina´s story =) Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I received a free ARC copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. Wow this story has a lot of twist and turns and DRAMA. I loved every minute of it. You are pulled in from page one. We have vampires and werewolves. We have finding your mate. We have fighting. What more can you ask for in a story. Yes there is relationship drama but I am not telling you what happens you will have to get the book to find out. But it is so worth the money but don’t forget to get the other books in the series since each can be read as standalones.
Heather is a human on the run from a dangerous vampire that killed her best friend and is hunting her down. She takes a teaching job on the ranch and meets Cody. Cody knows that Heather is his chosen mate, but he is the son of the Alpha and is expected to mate a worthy female wolf, not a human school teacher. He sees how mated life has changed the life of his brother, Ty and wants his own happy ever after.
I love this story. I am not usually a fan of vampire's in books but I love how Ms. Lowe made Heather so strong in character and personality. It's refreshing to see an alpha's son stand up to his father and not take the arranged mate. Fantastic!!!
Paranormal Romance really floats my boat when it's done right, and this author does it right. Our hero is realistic in his insecurities and emotions. Our heroine doesn't play the TSTL or terminal stubbornness card. The predictable ending doesn't matter, because we read romance for the journey, and this journey satisfies. The editing is clean and the writing excellent, with even flow and nary a glitch.
These books of The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch are so cute and interesting. I love how these male wolves love and care for their mates. Plus this one had vampires...loved it.
This is the second book in Anna Lowe's "The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch" series. I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review. While it's possible to read this as a standalone, I don't recommend it just because this story deals with some of the same characters and is about the same pack. They all mesh together. For instance- the next book (Desert Fate, coming soon!) is about Kyle, who we start getting to know in this book. So do yourself a favor and read them in order if you can! This book focuses on Cody, the son of the pack's alpha leader and brother of Ty. Ty is who we met in book one and book 1.5. Whereas Ty has always been the serious and responsible one, Cody has always been the fun-loving, carefree prankster. But is he really that person? The older he gets the more he starts to wonder if that isn't just a role he attempts to fill because it's what everyone, especially his father, expects from him. Every time he does try to step up and be something more, his father doesn't hesitate to let him know it's not enough, that HE'S not enough. Cody has spent his whole life cast in the large shadow of Ty. Up until this point he hasn't really minded too much. He isn't settled down with anyone and enjoys that aspect of his life. However the more time he spends watching Ty and Lana together the more he yearns for something more substantial in his life. He's envious of their intimacy. Heather is a full human who arrives in Arizona as a pit stop. She has a job at the school for three months and then is planning to go on the run again. She realizes it sounds crazy, but deep down she knows the truth- she's running from a monster, not a man. This monster is straight from the myths and legends- a vampire. Cody and Heather immediately feel a connection to one another. Cody knows in his brain that it's bad news for a couple reasons: she's a human blissfully unaware of shifter existence and also since he's the son of the Alpha packmaster he is expected to mate a full-blooded wolf shifter. Fate, however, has different plans for them. Cody can't deny his inner wolf, who reminds him constantly that Heather is HIS, that she is his future, his destined mate. Heather may not be aware of shifters or destined mates, but she knows something's different about her feelings for Cody. She's usually a very careful, distanced person...especially after having to flee her home out East. But every time those warning bells go off, her heart speaks even louder telling her she can trust him, that he's hers. Their story has romance, hot sex, heartbreak, suspense, and action. It's everything you hope for in a shifter romance. Anna Lowe has once again proven she's one of the best there is in this theme.
***** Anna Lowe does it again. Desert Blood the 2nd book in the Twin Moon Ranch Series. I absolutely love this series.. It's hot and steamy...
I received an ARC copy for free for my honest review.
I have to say Anna really knows how to get her readers sucked into her world of paranormal.. I couldnt put the book down for a minute. I cant wait to read the next book in this series.

His father never felt he was good enough and that Cody always knew he needed to prove him self to his family and the pack. Cody one day walks past the school house and instantly smells her scent now he had to say away until he couldnt anymore. .. Never in the pack especially that he is the Alpha's son allowed to mate with a human.
As Heather and Cody trying to deny there is something between them . They had their secret nights together with passion like now other. Desert Blood The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch Book 2 by Anna Lowe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I received this ARC of this book to read and give my opinion in a honest review.
This is a Fantastic paranormal romance with lots of sensual scenes. I loved reading this storyline it's witty, amazing, humorous, fascinating and the kind of storyline I have come to expect from Anne Lowe, she is one talented author her imagination is one many of us wish we had. Her characters are fantastic, strong, mind-blowing HOT and everything you would like to fantasize about. The dialog is compelling, great, makes you laugh out loud. This is one book that will be hard to put down. This is a SPECTACULAR fast paced well written story by a truly gifted author and Always remember in the world of shifters the possibilities are endless but it's always fascinating. It’s book 2 in a awesome series and this is a great addition to this series. There is lots of action involved. You get to visit the characters that you already know from written previous story. I really love when we get to visit with them too.
Heather is a human school teacher and who goes out with her friend to a club to meet her friend’s new man and he brings a friend. Heather gets a funny feeling about these two guys. She try's to get her friend to leave, but her friend doesn't get away. Heather drives a long time ending up in Arizona. She finds a temporary job as a teacher, she meets Cody he lives on the ranch. Heather is attracted to Cody and she thinks she hit the jackpot because he is everything she has always wanted in a man. But Cody has a secret, he is a werewolf and his father is the Alpha.
Cody is a gorgeous wolf shifter and one of the Alpha's son. His older brother will be Alpha and is his father favorite. Because when he was younger he was a womanizer didn't want any responsibility. But now he's older he wants to prove to himself and his father he has change. Then women are being killed, found drained of blood and mutilated, Cody feels he must fine the killer. Because he feels he has found his mate the human school teacher Heather.
This is a SPECTACULAR addition to this series. You don't want to miss any book in this series! If you are looking for a Spectacular paranormal book then you need to read this series. This is a great book to add to your TBR list. I'm so excited about reading the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book.
If you believe in the world of paranormal romance, the possibilities are endless and fascinating!
I wasn’t sure what to expect from the pack Lothario. I mean everything we’ve seen from Cody so far says he’s got a devil may care, love ‘em and leave ‘em attitude. He’s never too serious and never too far from getting his groove on with everything in a skirt. But what if the pack Lothario is tired of the facade he’s built? What if he just wants people to take him seriously and see the real him underneath the facade? What if he wants the promise of a fated mate like his brother Ty has found? But fate isn’t being nice when she dishes up temptation in the very human, Heather. She’s temptation personified and totally forbidden. She’s also running scared and wary of all of his advances. Ms. Heather is going to take a bit of wooing. Something he’ll have to fit in around his search for a serial killer… one that all indications say might be a vampire. He’ll also have to keep his wooing out of the limelight… after all mating a human is forbidden and there is no way his father is going to accept his choice in a mate.
Heather is on the run. A night out on the town with her girlfriend Cathy ended in tragedy. Cathy is dead and Heather is running from the very real threat of vampires. Having just barely escaped her first encounter, Heather is staying one step ahead of the pursuing vampires. At the end of her finances and needing to recoup a bit, she stops in a small town in Arizona and takes a teaching job out at the Twin Moons Ranch. After her very harrowing experience, she’s just a bit wary of all men… but there is just something about Cody that calls to her. And while at first you might suspect that Heather is a bit timid nothing could be further from the truth. This is one woman that might have to come to terms with the very real threat she’s been dealing with, but she will come out swinging when pushed against the wall. Heaven help you if this gal has a hockey stick in hand.
I totally loved watching the transformation in Cody. Heather’s insights from teaching help her to see the man beneath the facade. While the wooing might be creating a slow burn, the tension definitely ignites into a flash fire when these two finally come together. Desert Blood has become my favorite so far. Not sure if that’s due to the vampire threat, serial killer angle or the reformation of a bad boy, but the combination is a total winner. *****Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions*****
I love the Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch series. I was looking forward to reading about Cody with the "surfer boy" looks and attitude. Cody, is the easy going brother to Ty, the domineering, alpha who is set to inherit the pack. Since Cody doesn't have as much duty and responsibility thrust upon him, he's taken on the role of playboy, but he's growing tired and wants to settle down.
Heather, is a woman escaping a terrible event and lands at the Twin Moon ranch as a replacement teacher. She quickly fits in and loves it on the ranch. She's also attracted to Cody and realizes that his playboy look was something that he started and now its become his label and he can't shake it, but she knows he wants to.
Cody's attracted to Heather in a way that he's never been attracted to a woman before, but she's off limits. A wolf can't take a human and an alpha wolf definitely can't. His father even threatens him to find a mate within 3 months or he'll find one for him. Unfortunately, his father doesn't give him that much time and promises him to another person. This sets off a series of different episodes of drama that must be battled in more ways than one.
Cody must prove he's grown up and ready for more responsibilities and that his love for Heather is real. Heather, reading a situation incorrectly, flees the ranch only to be stranded on a deserted road late one evening. To her rescue, is the man (vampire) who she escaped before. The fight that ensued had me holding my breath wondering how this would play out. I normally don't read vampire books (just not my cup of tea), but this one was good and I really enjoyed it.
My heart was breaking when Heather sees Cody sitting outside the school house, drinking a beer. His eyes are closed and she starts talking to him. "I see you day and night". That scene was just - WOW! You could totally feel his pain.
This series is great. All the books can be read as standalones and tend to move quickly. I'm looking forward to reading about Kyle and hoping there's a book for Tina too!
I was given an ARC for an honest review. I honestly think you should check out this author, if you haven't already.
I was given this book in the exchange for an honest review. Heather Lowe the author does a fine job in this second book in the series. Lowe definitely keeps the pace moving well in this book. It really matters too seeing that the main character is on the run and makes a stop and while doing so meets a romantic partner.
The story not only progresses well but the characters are in depth and the reader just keeps on turning pages! Lowe keeps her readers in tune to her character progression and never lets up.
I rate this novella with five stars and recommend for all those that love a nice paranormal romance! I really enjoyed this book in the series.
I was given this ARC for an honest review and this is my honest opinion ANNA LOWE HAS A GREAT NEW BOOK TO ADD TO THIS SERIES... A MUST READ !!!!! LIKE VAMPIRES, WEREWOLVES EVEN HUMANS
To start with, I want the next one NOW, but will be waiting for three. This is my third of the series and though all are about The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch ,and the people cross over from book to book (which is something I love in a series) each are different, with the main story about a different couple. Cody didn't want all the responsibility that his father pushed on his brother Ty so for far to long he has played the playboy, and irresponsible . But as he has watched Ty change since finding his mate and having a child , he wants to prove himself. Claim his own mate, have his own family and protect the pack. Cody finds himself draw to the new human teacher (something forbidden by his father and pack), he has also been told to handle the horrible murders headed toward pack land.It will be Cody who finally guesses where the vampires will be next, just as it was him who first figured out it was vampires (not just one). Cody will need to change from a playboy to a man, who finally realizes sometimes you have to help yourself to get the things you want most. Can he do it? Can he prove his value to the pack? Heather will change from a scared woman who is running blindly for her life to a woman who can face the world she knew nothing of a few months before. To a woman who can realize one wolf from another, from the humans she knows, she will find something that she must also be willing to fight for, claim, defend against all odds and she will first face unbelievable odds alone , with no hope of help, till it comes from unexpected source. And still the battle will not be over because she still must face herself and come to grips with all she learns. Can she do that?Is there any hope for her and Cody?

Desert Blood -Anna Lowe

She scared but she still needs a jobs and applies and gets a job as a stand-in teacher for two months. With the vampire chasing her she can never stay in one place for too long. But then she meets Cody Hawthorne, sweet funny Cody who is slowly claws his way into her heart. Cody scents her and is drawn to the school but his weary about meeting her. Then one day he just can't stay away. From then on it's a lost cause for him. She's human, but she's also his mate. Heather is growing attached to Adam but she knows, can feel his hiding something she just doesn't know what. Everything seems to be going well until she sees him kissing someone else and she is devastated. What she doesn't realise that not everything is as it seems. And she runs. On her way home her car breaks down and her worse nightmare is upon her. Will she be rescued on time, will she get the love of her life!
I loved this book. The storyline was strong and flowed smoothly. The characters had a good chemistry, intense at times and sweet at times. Cody was never taken too seriously because of his womanizing ways and because he joked about everything with his charming smile but Heather saw through it and saw the man underneath the facade. Heather was terrified of who was chasing her but she was tough and wasn't about to let anyone mess with her and her mate without a fight. She fought like a trooper. Both strong characters but had their insecurities as well as enough love for each other to overcome everything. This story was really enjoyable and I definitely recommend it. But it's part of a series and I suggest that you read in order as you will get a better understanding of the story as a whole!
5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆ Title: Desert Blood. Book 2 Series: The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch Author: Anna Lowe Reviewer: (Ingrid) Stephanie Jordan #Paranormal #WolfShifters #Vampires ☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆•☆ Goodness I love this series, we go back to Twin Moon Ranch with Ty and Lana let's not forget Tana. Of course we've got the cranky old Alpha that brow beats everyone because he's the Alpha, problem is it's the old ways he wants nothing new, Ty's waiting for him to retire until then his word is law. Heather Luth was running for her life she's been running from her home in Pittsburgh, going west for several states now, she had to keep running she didn't know if they were following her, those monsters try to kill her, you're not going to believe what she saw in fact if she told anybody they probably put her in an insane asylum. In Arizona she kept thinking maybe I can stop here she was exhausted and her poor the little dusty orange VW , Heather stopped in a little town. Now she needed a job, where was she going to get a teaching job in the middle of nowhere? Cody Hawthorne kept looking at her she was human he was a wolfshifter no way would his Pack and his father the Alpha except her. Then the Alpha sent Cody with Kyle to check out some killing that happened. They both went to the coroner to see the body, trying to see if they could find something, if they can smell something, if there was any kind of clue of who is doing these killings. The body had many knife wounds, and then they smelled it and they knew what it was there was, there was more than one there were several. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was a great follow up to the first book and the two novella's within the Wolves of the Twin Moon Ranch series! Anna Lowe has a rich sense of the scenery and clearly gets everything so eloquently scribes for me to feel like I was right there in Arizona experiencing this story.
The resident bad-boy, ranch flirt and ladies man, Cody Hawthorne finds himself sinking fast. He may seem to be a man with the inability to be serious or even willing to commit to any relationship with another she-wolf. But there is so much more to Cody, that no one gives him credit for, even his family. Until a beautiful substitute teacher is hired for the ranch's one-room school house. For the first time, Cody is ready for life and all the responsibilities that come with it, but only one problem... This school teacher is human and off limits, since mating with humans for an Alpha's offspring is not allowed.
Heather Luth, a sweet, sexy and super smart teacher is on the run from an unknown danger. So finding a self contained working ranch with a school house, is a blessing in disguise. And ooo-wee, does she find herself in trouble, even from afar she is being drawn to that blonde sexy man, the ranch boss' son. What is it about Cody that screams home for her? She can't get involved, she had to keep moving for they will find her. Will she allow Cody to draw her completely in?
Can Cody withstand his desire for Heather? And can he keep her safe from whatever past that she is running from?
Not my over bearing father , nor a vamp will keep me from my human mate
Cody knew once he laid eyes on Heather that she was his true mate. He didn't let a potential arrange mate by his father stand in his way so you it was a fact that no stinky vampire was taking her. Heather felt at home . She's been running for so long away from that tragic day she found out about vampires. After she barely escaped the dark alley and finding out her bff was slaughtered by Alon she knew she had to get far far away. When Heather heard Cody had a new girlfriend after spending weeks of getting to know one another and finally make love to her man she was devastated. She figured she would just leave but got stuck on the side of the road with a flat just to be helped by Alon and is goon squad. Since it had been a string of murders and they all led back to vampires Cody always thought the victim was Heather since every girl resemble her. When he saw the victim's orange car he put two and two together and realized they were after his mate. Cody fought off the attacker. Like I said no matter how many vampires their were they we not taking her without a fight. And a fight he gave. This was a really good story. Anna gave a lot of background information so you would not be lost. But please read they first two stories in the series so you could become familiar with the characters. Although, I purchased this book I have the honor of being asked by the author for my honest opinion. So Anna, I really enjoyed reading Cody and Heather's story. Can't wait to read Kyle's story next.
I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review. My words and thoughts are my own.
Heather One rare night out with a friend after long days at school should have been a fun getaway. Instead, a near-escape from a vampire attack has her running for her life. Not sure that anyone would believe her, she keeps driving until something makes her stop near Twin Moon Ranch. They are in need of a temporary school teacher, and she needs to feel a measure of safety. Enter Cody.
Cody The younger son of an alpha, Cody has been the over looked and often underestimated one. The "carefree" personality he has adopted his whole life has started to grate on him, and he is looking for something more. Then he and his wolf counterpart meet Heather; a human who should not have sparked any interest because she would never fit into their lives. This is so not the case, as both he and his wolf would like nothing more than to claim her as "mate." Not so easy to do when the alpha has other ideas and danger arrives in town. Can these two find a way to make this work? Will the danger that's coming be vanquished? I know. Wouldn't you like to know too? Read this book - you won't be sorry.
I loved reading how Cody and Heather met and danced around getting involved. They both are sure that a relationship would never work, but cannot argue with the feelings that rise between them every time they are close. Add in alpha drama and danger and I couldn't put the book down. I'm loving this series and am looking forward to the next.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
I just finished reading 'Desert Blood'... I really loved being back in the lives of the Were's of Twin Moon Ranch. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop & I was at the end of the book & wanting more. I do advise that you read book 1 & novella 1.5 'Desert Moon' & 'Desert Wolf' of "The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch" first, as they are in chronological order. Although each main book is for a different main character, all characters interweave in each book.
Heather hasn't stopped driving since that fateful night the paranormal came into her life, but something about the Arizonia desert feels safe to her. Everything inside tells her to stop & recoup for a bit. Cody has lived his life playing a part, not being his true self, being the playboy... ladies man... but he's getting tired of it. Seeing his brother Ty with his mate Lana, makes Cody see what he's missing. Something about Heather draws him to her.
I loved how Anna has brought her characters together... again, they feel so alive & vivid... I could almost touch them. I loved reading the relationship changes within the siblings, now that Ty is mated. The growth that Cody does within this book is epic, as well as Heather's growth, I think they needed one-another to heal. Thank you Anna for an enthralling read, I can't wait for book 3's release. I need more of "The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch"!!
The Spotlight is on Cody in this superb addition to the Twin Moon Ranch story
Heather is on the run for her life, but low on money, she needs to pause and regroup. With teaching as her love, she stops in a tiny town and actually gets a 2-month gig in a one-room school house until the regular teacher comes back from emergency family leave. A bat in the classroom, and yelling kids draws Cody in to investigate. The ranch is a breeding ground for gorgeous men, but this one is in a class of his own.
Cody was avoiding a face-to-face meeting with the new school teacher. Like no other teacher he had ever seen his wolf who had never claimed another growled Mine! Cody’s father Tyrone and brother Ty ran the pack, but he and his sister Tina keep it running smoothly as they are approachable. Cody had seen the crushing load on his brother Ty and played a role which left him unencumbered. Heather saw through the mask, and wondered what was behind it.
Assigned to help Kyle with a murder case, Cody can’t stay away from Heather even though he knows bringing a human into the pack is forbidden. His father interferes with mating plans for Cody – and of course the Alpha’s plans will not include a human. Meanwhile the danger following Heather comes closer. Can it ever work out for these two?
Unbelievable connections, misunderstandings, danger and expectations all come together in this incredible addition to the Twin Moon Ranch series.
Putting on a persona only works so long. In this story, Cody is tired of being the fun-loving younger brother who goes from woman to woman. The new substitute teacher is on the run and he feels an immediate connection to her. He has found his mate but she is a human and that is not acceptable with his pack. He is trying to help solve a series of murders to show his father he is responsible and the murders get very close to home. I have enjoyed the books in this series. The siblings don't want to be like their father and they value love. They fight for it too. I like revisiting the other characters in each book and look forward to their sister getting a mate of her own too. The books are well written and have a strong storyline along with the romance. I find them very enjoyable to read and recommend the series to anyone who likes a good romance with a supernatural twist.
Yes, Ty makes me want to hit the dusty trail, this series just keeps getting hotter, I love that Cody has finally found his place and no longer needs to hide behind the womanizer and purposely messing up Heather was a treat and again, the males may be alphas But the female are the real "alphas's" I look forward to the next book and I hope the authors give us a treat...... I would like the big bad wolf alpha, after he's described as a hot older man, need visuals, find a ball buster mate who makes him earn it!!!!
Heather : human on the run from a terror with a name. Cody : younger son of a ranch pack: you know it's all going to end in smiles. And it's satisfying, sensual and fun. I enjoyed Desert Blood.
Series: The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch #2 Rating: 3 stars - I liked it
Heather Luth knows nothing about the paranormal world until one night she runs into a vampire. Now she is on the run and finds herself in a small town in Arizona looking for work. She finds a temporary job as a teacher on the Twin Moon Ranch and quickly finds herself falling for Cody Hawthorne.
Cody and Heather have a fated mates story that is also a forbidden love one. They have instant attraction and feelings build quickly, but Cody knows he should keep his distance because she is human and that is forbidden by the old council. While I enjoyed their relationship and its fast pace, I do wish there had been more discussion on page between them about him being a shifter and his father trying to force a marriage on him. It felt like some of the threads of their relationship were just skipped over after the vampire threat was contained.
While this book introduces vampires in this world, it was very minimal on details. The vampires appear and they are the villains, but we get no general information about vampires in this world. I was really expecting a bit more world development since a new paranormal was being introduced and was the enemy in this. Also, it was a bit of an anticlimactic ending with the vampires because they were barely in the story.
Overall, while I am still enjoying this series, I wish there was a bit more world building and relationship development between the characters.
