When a silver Hive crashes into the heart of the capital, thousands dream of claiming the power hidden inside.
Most never return.
Saskia Rowell never intended to enter the Hive. Yet against all odds, she becomes the one walking out alive bound to the devil imprisoned at its core.
The reward should have made her a legend.
Instead, it turns her into a target.
As strange creatures begin appearing across the city and violence erupts between humans, hybrids, and monsters, Saskia discovers the Hive's arrival was no accident. Someone wanted her to claim its power. Someone wanted the devil set free.
And the devil at her side may know more than he's willing to tell.
Drawn into a dangerous bond she can't break, Saskia must uncover the truth behind the Hive before the city collapses into chaos. But the closer she gets to the answers, the harder it becomes to ignore the ancient being bound to her soul—and the terrifying possibility that he may be the only one she can trust.
Because conquering the Hive was only the beginning.
And some devils are far more dangerous than monsters.
I went into this new romantasy series with no expectations, and wow… I was hooked from the very beginning.
The pacing is absolutely spot on. It doesn’t spend hundreds of pages dumping information on you or overwhelming you with world-building. Instead, the story unfolds naturally, keeping you immersed while making sure there’s always something happening. Every chapter seemed to reveal something new, whether it was another mystery, a new challenge, or another layer to the plot, and it never felt overcrowded.
One of my favourite parts of the book was the dynamic between Saskia and Malric. While there’s no real romance or spice in this first instalment, the chemistry between them is undeniable. Their playful banter had me smiling so many times, and I already can’t wait to see how their relationship develops throughout the series. Their personalities complement each other so well, making every interaction enjoyable.
This book delivers everything I love in a fantasy—adventure, dangerous trials, mysteries, kidnappings, hidden truths, and plenty of twists that kept me turning the pages. Just when I thought I had an idea of where things were heading, something else would happen.
And that ending… I immediately wanted to pick up book two.
Hanna Tove, just know I’ll be sat here patiently waiting because I absolutely need to know what happens next. This is such a promising start to the series, and I’m so excited to see where the story goes from here.
If you like urban fantasy get this read! Like right now! It was bloody good, and kept Me invested! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Now there was no spice but the tension you could feel starting to brew was there, the flirting was there the banter is there, the cheeky side of Malric god i love him! Even the side characters banter was on point!
The FMC is human and he is the devil, but devil not as we know the devil from hell they are from a whole different world and the creatures Hanna has created im well impressed!

I was happy to read an urban fantasy and it surpassed my expectations. The world building is not too complex but fascinating and you got addicted quickly. I cannot say there were any parts where I felt bored and the cliffhanger was serious
