My Witchy Wives: A Slice-of-Life Men's Fantasy

A midnight witch hunt had an unexpected final Ben Ford's living room.

Ben was a simple man. He enjoyed video games, his dog, cooking, and suffering through each week of work so he could relax on the weekends. His simple life was upended when three gorgeous witches suddenly arrive in his living room via magical portal. They told him the gods had determined he was their protector.

Once the proverbial dust cleared, he realized that building a life with these three women would be harder than anticipated; they didn't exist in the legal sense, after all. Step by step, they build love and a life together; Raven, with her black hair and sultry beauty, Luna, with her sensual calmness, and Sage, with her temper as fiery as her hair.

He just hopes he can get things going before Sage burns something down.

It was alright but not for me

I probably won't continue the series, its not that its bad but it was just a little bland and had some weird issues that threw me off to much. The whole dynamic with the story owner was weird where she knew they were witches but "didn't know". I don't it felt like almost every interaction with her was weird. Also I think I counted 3 separate time where the MC specifically drove his car to the store but then they walked back. Like does the read actually care what method of travel the MC uses? Obviously not but if you're going to mention it at least be consistent. I know thats being picky but for some readers that kinda stuff throws us off our grove. Also the primary antagonist (his boss) was built up way to much for how it concluded. I don't want to give spoilers but he could have gone to HR with what happened and it would have been way more of an earned conclusion.

I will say I did enjoy the characters and spice, we did see some genuine connection formed with the MC at the end. I understand its slice of life but there are still plenty of ways to make the story more interesting, I feel like the author was on track for some interesting conflict and then just plateaued before ending it.

OK, a few caveats here...

This definitely has "slice of life" vibes -- so don't expect peril (except for having to deal with a particularly annoying manager). Don't expect a lot of drama. Don't expect any attempt at an explanation of three witches from somewhere and somewhen landing her speaking and understanding English.

This is, for want of a better term, reverse isekai. Ben is a very frustrated spreadsheet pusher in a cubicle. He is relaxing at home and suddenly a portal opens up in his living room and 3 gorgeous lightly-clad witches tumble out, exhausted and unconscious. They had been fleeing a particularly-dangerous mob of peasants and a priest, and they cast a spell to transport themselves *anywhere* that is sanctuary. Which is Ben's living room.

The rest of the book is everyone working on figuring out how to build a life together, Ben figuring out ditching his frustrating job and boss, a rather hilarious scene of using magical persuasion to cut to immigration red tape, scenes of "moderately ethical witches sorting out retail", and affection, cuddling, and sex.

Quite enjoyable. Not earth-shattering, but quite enjoyable.

Very, VERY good

At first, I was truly entertained by the humor, but that seemed to drop off as the MC became more serious through the book. Still there, but not as happy. Bummer.

People often say in their reviews of harem lit how the female characters have distinct personalities. Like hair color alone captures all that a woman is. But this author somehow manages to actually accomplish this feat. The ladies ARE unique and written consistently so to the point where you can predict their reactions. Well done, sir.

The only complaint I have is the lack of continuity. The scene changes location between paragraphs, and time is a very squishy, tenuous thing. I find that this is a common problem with self published stuff.

And of course, the usual editing (or lack thereof) issues.

But don’t get me wrong: read the book, it’s well worth your time.

Wonderfully Delightful

I am not usually a big slice of life guy. But this one hit the spot. The characters are fun and sad at the same time. They grow throughout the read, the spice level is spicy but not burn your mouth or turn you off of the book hot. It’s an easy read with a compelling story line that doesn’t get suspenseful for stupid reasons. I may have read more SOL series. I’m definitely going following this author now. Also I’m posting from my wife and I’s shared account but for some reason it on shows her name.

It has a fun concept and some decent characters but the writing feels repetitive and falls into the same problems a large portion of newer writers have now a days. Very repeated use of certain phrasing during prose, It was not X but it was Y. He did X not for this reason but because of this reason. Repeated over and over it gets tiring very quickly.

This is undoubtedly AI generated at least in large part. Repetition, AI-dramatic prose (no one bothers to change the AI's voice), wildly inaccurate/inconsistent details, etc.. It's all there and becomes annoyingly obvious at around 60%. Once the errors started compounding (AI generally lose context around this point) it just completely killed the mood, so, 1 star.

A refreshing story

I like all the characters within the story, they have depth.
And most of all I love the way the relationship moves slow and steady.
Thank you for writing this wonderful story.

A great story

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book. But I quickly discovered this was going to be a great series. What really stood out was how the characters melded together. It was seamless and so wonderful to read.

It's yet another AI slop book by yet another AI slop peddler. It's full of signs of AI writing (from nonsensical similes to story inconsistencies). I don't know how a single reviewer hasn't noticed it or mentioned anything about it. It's sad.

Good read

I thought that the relationship between the MC and the ladies was developed well and I look forward to additional books.
I have already recommended it to several friends.

Great read!

I really enjoyed this series. Not a series book but a warm and cozy slice of life with warm characters, love and mischief.

I saw there was recently a point of stupid controversy on a locked reddit review of this book, so I decided I might as well chime in here because I gave the book a chance before I dropped it like so much garbage, and I am astounded it got the benefit of the doubt.

This book is unapologetically AI-written, and if it's not, the author must have the most unique understanding of the english language I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing. It is bad. Bad, bad. Logical and narrative continuity does not exist between sentences, let alone paragraphs.

At one point the smooth-brained MC orders a pasta dish for lunch, and a non-distinguishable love interest steals his french fries. Again. She steals french fries from his pasta dish. I don't think I need a compelling argument about AI language patterns to argue that no human could have written that interaction. There were worse examples in the chapters I read, and excusing it as if the book just needed more editing is naive in the extreme.

I'm offended the author published this for purchase. Do yourself a favor and save a few hours by skipping it.
