After landing on a world gone mad with a virus that turned the majority of the population into feral zombies, a small special forces team closes in on the answers to so many mysteries about this horrific situation and someone will do anything to keep the truth from getting out. Veronica Scott has kept me on the edge of my seat through this series of ‘nail-biter’ post-apocalyptic sci-fi romances and at last we have arrived at the grand finale. I was all in!

In the conclusion to the series (although there are a couple more members of the team that could meet their match in the future, maybe) the special forces team investigates the settlement run by the remaining planetary military that is surrounded by the infected (zombies) with no way out once survivors are admitted. Something doesn’t seem right, and Jeff, Melly and Tamsyn can’t wait to get out of there and finish their ultimate mission. I loved the action in this one, and the way the guys find a way to acquire the equipment they need to put an end to what is being done to the planet. This was a wonderful conclusion where all of the evil doers get what’s coming to them, and our heroes all get a much deserved happy life working for the good of the planet and its surviving people.

What a satisfying conclusion to the series! It is hard to review with spoilers for the first books, but I can say that once again, Veronica Scott has created a riveting page turner populated with heroes and heroines worth cheering, and villains who get the justice they deserve.

If you like your sci-fi with heart-pounding action and strong, believable characters and romance, read The Planet of Last Resort series.

The eve of destruction

Returning a planet, and its people from the brink of destruction from aliens who didn’t understand how stubborn humans can be.

Fourth in the series. Back to Melly and Jeff. They , along with Tamsyn go to Glastine to find out what's going on. We get some answers in this book. This is apparently the last book but I would love it if the author revisited the setting in later books.

Riveting

There is a small handful of "end of earth" series and the Planet of Last Resort is definitely in the mix. The characters and plot are very well written. This the last book with some unanswered questions still. I highly recommend this series.
