I've read a few books by Janae Jones and Tyla Walker that I really enjoyed, but this one wasn't my favorite. Amara annoyed me the entire book. She always assumed the worst of Cade and only apologized for her horrible behavior towards him at the end. Cade was a saint for putting up with her attitude, but he only tolerated it for Eli's sake. The plot flowed ok, but there were moments that confused me. In one chapter, Amara is still yelling at him, and in the next, Cade is picking up Eli from school, and they almost kiss. There's an important part of the plot missing between those two chapters. Later in the same chapter, she's back to yelling at him. Cade and Eli saved that story for me. I loved their relationship and how it grew over time. The ending was rather abrupt, though. Amara finally gets over herself and gives Cade a chance, Eli does the sweetest thing, and then it ends. Another chapter or two would have provided a smoother finish for me. Would I still recommend it? Yes, just for sweethearts Cade and Eli. You'll enjoy them as much as I did.

This is the story of Cade and Amara and her son, Eli. They meet when she storms onto his construction site one day because she is bothered by the noise—and not only that, her bakery is suffering too. While her son shows interest in Cade and his work, she wants nothing to do with him, but Eli feels differently and quickly gets used to him, and they slowly grow closer. I thoroughly enjoyed their story and it was hard to put the book down; I was so engrossed in it.

Amara has decided that she doesn't like Cade, but when her son becomes fascinated with him and his job it creates friction. She wants to maintain a distance, but her son's antics brings them into the fold and when he starts making himself useful her guard drops and so does her heart because now, she has caught feelings. This heartfelt story kept me glued to the pages.

Heatfelt,warm and fufilling

I will not give out spoilers but I will say this was a touching, sometimes sad, with anticipation story. I loved it and you will too. An epilogue would have given the story a 10 star rating. More future happenings would have been nice. Maybe the author will give Amarie and Mr. Grumpy's friends their story so we can hear more about the future of Amarie and Grumpy! From my mouth to the author's ear!

Out of all of her books this one upset me the worst. The FMC has no right to have love for him. All I’m saying. So hot and cold and that’s not attractive
