I loved The Devil's, I need this now! Every Abercrombie book I've ever read is five stars. Say one thing for Lord Grimdark, say he's consistently great!

just a quick review
If you didn't liked The Devils, this might not be for you either. One of the difference is the quest. While The Devils is more of an escort mission, this one is an investigation. There's still humor, violence, etc.
There are new characters that I felt needs fleshing out more, while the other new characters are really well-written.
Aside from the start, where Joe introduced us to the new characters. There's a part somewhere in the back half, where things slowed down just a bit. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed that part and it's really funny.
Joe presented some plot threads that could lead to book three. I personally couldn't see the third book being the last book, though I could see this one getting the reverse The Blade Itself treatment - having a "standalone" trilogy, then a truly connected trilogy. If you've read The Devils and this one, you'll probably take a guess what could happen in that connected trilogy.
