made my day
Do you know how long I hoped for a second book and periodically checked to no avail? I really liked the first book and the second did NOT disappoint. Loved the romance, the politics, the stalker lol, and seeing Phillip being crafty and successfully making deals and profiting from them. Was really satisfying seeing him in his element. I’m secretly happy he’s got a stalker like it’s validation that my mc really is that guy. Please tell me we are getting a 3rd book and not after 5 years author! Please tell me you read the reviews and have mercy on me lol

The perfect sequel
After five and a half years, he finally comes back and quietly drops this. And it’s magnificent. It’s everything that made the original so good—even better. It’s so deliciously tense. The machinations that Philip must do to navigate this treacherous society verge on the sociopathic, but he’s grounded enough to remain human and relatable. My god. What a story. Can’t wait for the next one.

Return of the king
It was a long time coming but it was worth it. Great news story for our boy Phillip. Some tense scenes with our thirsty queen but Phil dont put up with it.
He is a little ... to perfect kn his forward linking plans but still great book.. need more interaction with his lovers in future books as well.
Still the setting is amazing, not many so the reverse gender roles, and we need more!

The long awaited sequel!
I had given up waiting, and when I saw this cone out, I grabbed it! Nice, with some character development for the MC. And apparently not done with the series? Great!
This is a unique sex role reversal and I am impressed that the author can write it with only rare inconsistencies. Highly recommended, and feel free to take less time writing the next book!

So glad I got to read this.
This is actually my favorite series from this author and I was worried it'd never get a sequel. This was awesome and just as good as the first. I just can't get over how sweet and endearing all the ladies are. It's really refreshing. Might not be a book for everyone, but it's definitely my favorite.

A great read
Comely forgot about this series but when searching through my notifications saw this was due out the other day I re-read book one to catch up fit this and it's still a great read. This book is even better than book 1, so really looking forward to book 3 just hopefully without the long wait. Keep up the good work.

finally
This is a long time coming especially for an author as prolific as this one. Being as this is the third nom de plume I know of from them. And I really enjoyed the sequel I love how nobody extra was added. This was a good growth on the first. The characters just get more interesting.

long awaited
I’ve been waiting for this sequel for about 5 years and it was so worth the wait. I’m just excited it actually got published. It’s a great reverse alternative history where men are sheltered gender and women are the strong protectors. And we get a war, a stalker queen and a an who has to use his whit and charm to manuever about obsessive forces out to get him.

Like the first in the series, The Honor of Duty II is a fantastic look at not only a gender reversed medieval world but also economic growth. There are some fascinating looks at how systems can be utilized to benefit oneself but not hurt the less fortunate. I do wish there was spice but that's a small problem. Great book

Phillip
An interesting book if you love A. R. Rend, especially if you're into casual mercantile and merchant settings. I read every book by this author without fail, so it was interesting to see this angle and setting. A little different than his other books but still entertaining if a bit mild.

I absolutely love this perspective
Such a straightforward reverse of perspective that had me thinking through the whole book, I kept going back after reading the first book waiting for this second one, took too long

Very different
Certainly not a genre I'd enjoy reading much of. The weak sensitive maleand more drama style plot. But written in a way that was interesting and entertaining enough to keep reading and stay invested.

One of the best books I've ever read.
I enjoyed honor of duty 1 it was a very interesting concept for this genre and well done. This book takes all the interesting things from the first book and just keeps adding to it. Would highly recommend

fantastic book 2, hope book 3 comes soon!
The political intrigue, characters, economic innovation make this book better than ever! I love to see all of Phil’s innovations and implementations that he’s bringing to the queendom. Can’t wait to see what happens in book 3!

3.5 This (now) series is obviously an experiment for the author. Partially successful, but it does suffer from the common Arand overwrought relationship statements. I just didn't get enough plot with the MC's ruminations about his situation and behaviour. Not sure if I'll read a book 3, but I won't rule it out.

Outstanding Story
Wonderful story with well written and considered plot lines. I really didn't expect this depth but I really should have.
Good characters who sneak into your heart. Consistent rules and good coherent progress. I can't wait to see the next book!!

Interesting read
It had been a long time since the,first book. I truly enjoy the world premise hers after reading and remembering the first. Well done. Hopefully it,won't be as long to the next one.

Enjoyed greatly
I found this book and the previous a great read with vivid characters. It's also thought provoking with gender role reversals. I recommend to those who have not read it and look forward to reading the next book.

Great sequel.
This was a great follow-up, really glad he didn't drop the series. I love how he leans into the subtle powers afforded to the MC.

This is a fine fantasy harem adventure novel. It is well written and edited. I especially like the Dark Horses. I anxiously await the author's next novel.
