I read this to get an idea of what I could do to lessen or remove the pain of childbirth so I can save some money by not getting an epidural. There's other reasons I have, too, but that's the most important for me. Why? Tom and I have agreed to give me the money that would be used for an epidural to spend on whatever. Beats the doctor spending it. Wish me luck!

Oh, but the book wasn't very helpful. Now I'm reading one my Ina May the midwife at The Farm. Hmm...

A good core text, but there are better out there.

A quick read. Marjorie Karmel used the Lamaze method which was virtually unheard of at the time and even traveled back to France from the US for her second Lamaze birth by the French OB, Dr. Lamaze. She helped bring Lamaze to the US and with Elizabeth Bing founded Lamaze International which for years was called ASPO/Lamaze.
