Review: This latest installment of the A-Z of horror is about things that a lot of people find disturbing - bugs, rats, snakes, frogs... I don't find any of those particularly scary, rather the opposite. Having said that, this still managed to freak me out. Iain's gruesome descriptions are as good as ever, as is the plot.
I'm really enjoying these bite-sized pieces from the British master of horror and I'm looking forward to F!
This was a fun quick story. I'd say it's a bit of a tongue in cheek horror. It's a little bit cheesy, but having said that if you were out in that situation in real life it would be terrifying! It's defo worth checking out.
E is for Exterminator (A-#z of Horror, book 5) by Iain Rob Wright was a very good horror story which made my skin crawl.
Christopher Threadwell had undertaken the job of Exterminator due to his abhorrent dislike to insects when he had gone on a camping trip with his Uncle and his friend which had him hospitalised aged twelve years old.
He was on a mission to Antworth Manor which was to be renovated once Christopher had exterminated all the vermin within he was to be paid a handsome reward.
Christopher had over thirty years experience in his field of extermination and was ready to spray anything that moved.
He notices a pentagram in one of the rooms but thinks nothing of it as he has his work cut out with exterminating all the vermin.

That did not change my opinion for this review. I gave this book four stars.
I don't consider myself easily spooked by insects in real life much less in works of fiction, but man this story gave me the creeps. The author gave a really vivid description of the old manor and that provided the perfect setting to intensify what everyday animals can do to humans given the proper horrifying motivation.
This book is really starting to grow on me. This might just be my favorite collection of stories! If you're looking for a quick read to trigger some arachnophobia that you might not know you have, give this compelling story a try!
Wonderfully creepy! Not the easiest story to read since I had the creepy crawlies right up to the end which had a great little twist! Recommending to all fans of modern horror.
This is my least favourite of the A-Z of Horror series so far. It's still worth a read if you're working through the series, and especially if you don't like creepy crawlies.
