"Mr. Cub" is a pretty easy read, filled with fun little tid-bits about Ernie Banks' life. Being a lifelong Cubs fan, it is hard to not enjoy anything Chicago Cubs related. Not only would I recommend this book to all Chicago Cubs fans, but to any baseball fan as well.

If you are a baseball fan, particularly a Cubs fan, this is a must read. Mr. Banks played before my time but I have always had a deep respect for him. This book sent my level of respect to the highest level. Ernie Banks was a class act in every way, on and off the field. Professional baseball, and every other field of endeavor, could use many more individuals with the character qualities he exuded. A team player in every sense of the word, Mr. Banks never took for granted the privilege he enjoyed of playing the game that he loved. Cannot recommend this book highly enough!

Finished another book about a major league baseball player. Hall of Famer Ernie Banks this time. Autobiography with Jim Enright named "Mr. Cub". Written at grade school level curiously. His stories were really flat about his years in the Negro Leagues and with the Cubs, His brother Ben played with him during the 1956 Spring Training though. Knocked over 500 homers and won two NL MVP awards. Always smiled. Known for "lets play two!". Not the most exciting reading material but still a wonderful person and ball player.

Good book for any Banks or Cubs fan or those interested in baseball integration.
