From Tim O'Rourke #1 bestselling author of 'The Kiera Hudson Series' comes 'Werewolves of Shade' a werewolf romance with a twist.
When Mila Watson decides to investigate her parents’ unexpected disappearance, she sets off into the mountains, heading for a remote village where the townsfolk all vanished some years ago. But on reaching the village, Mila soon discovers that it isn't as deserted as she first believed. Hiding out there is a small community of strange people. But who and what are these people hiding from?
Determined to discover the truth about her parents, Mila befriends a young man, named Rush. As they grow closer, Mila begins to suspect that it isn’t only Rush and his people who inhabit the isolated village but something else lives there, too. Someone or something is waiting in the woods that surround the village. But what is it that hides in the shadows? Vampires? Werewolves? Witches? Perhaps all three? Whatever lurks there, Mila needs to find out if she is to discover the truth surrounding the mysterious disappearance of her parents.
'Werewolves of Shade' is a six part serial. Each part is approx. 20,000 words in length.

Things are starting to get really out of hand in the town of Shade--who to trust and what's real versus what's fantasy have me, and Mila, scratching our heads as this rollercoaster of a story unfolds. But I'm loving it. What I thought I knew has been thwarted by a few intense events that have happened in this specific installment, and I have to admit that at one point I was so confused that I was afraid to continue... but I know O'Rourke will bring it together for me in the end, because he always does, and when I look back at all the crazy that happened in this installment after I finish the 6th and final portion of this amazing serial, I just know it's going to come together like a perfect puzzle.
Who are the people of Shade? Where did they come from? What's with the strange writing in the textbooks and on Calix's body? Who was this Julia they speak of, and why is there a werewolf stalking Mila--is there a werewolf stalking Mila? Why aren't the dead in the grave? What of magic? These are just some of the questions that have arisen for me while I'm reading, and though I know O'Rourke will eventually answer them all for me, the wait is killing me! But the ride makes it so much fun.
I love the characters, the bit of sassy romance, the strange, sensual dreams, and trying to decipher fact versus fiction in order to understand the strangeness of the townsfolk in Shade... it's just amazing. Part 6 is going to floor me, I just know it.
The mystery of the village of Shade is becoming darker and deeper. Whilst some explanations are given to Mila for the recent happenings, Mila finds herself questioning whether she should stay any longer, or just leave and return to her Uncle and Flint.
With conflicting stories between Rush, Calix, and what she knew of her parents, she is still no closer to finding out what happened to them. But, wouldn’t her journey be pointless if she returned with nothing? And didn’t she want her independence, and the chance to prove to herself that she could cope alone, to find out for herself?
In this instalment a new character emerges in Trent, who talks of a spell on Shade that may be broken. A spell that ensured undesirables did not enter the village. This is some revelation to Mila as she had heard nothing of this spell. Was there a witch in Shade, or had there been? The stories she had heard certainly mentioned a witch – a witch who had ended a war between vampires and werewolves!
It also emerges that the village of Shade may be being attacked by vampires. However, Mila finds that this is against what her Uncle had told her. Surely the witch had dealt with the vamps and wolves? But… if that was the case, why then did he pack her off with silver bullets and holy water? Can she really trust her Uncle? Why would he mislead her?
Mila has never been more confused. And her emotions are tested a little as she begins to realise that maybe Calix isn’t the annoyance that she thought he was. But can she put her trust in him, Rush or Rea, or all of them collectively?
What do those tattooed words on Calix’s back mean? And, just who is the wolf-man in her dreams? Are they just dreams, or are they real?
Any reader who loves paranormal, fantasy, romance, mystery and occasional horror will be hooked on Werewolves of Shade. With so many strange happenings, many questions to be answered, high emotions, tension, action and passion these short stories will leave you wanting more. This series is blossoming into a fantastic series that is truly addictive.
A copy of Werewolves of Shade #5 was provided by the author in return for a fair and honest review.
Oh My....Yet again Mr Tim leaves us at a pivotal moment, hanging precariously off the massive cliff that is Shade!
As we continue to follow Mila, she is drawn deeper into the lives of those around her in Shade and we FINALLY begin to get answers to the burning questions we have all been dying to ask. Although, the answers just leave us with a hundred more questions....
We also get the introduction of a new face in Shade. Trent. Hmmmmm....I get the feeling that we have already seen him before!!!!
For me, it all still boils down to one question.... Rush or Calix....Who will Mila choose?
Another Fantabulous Read Mr Tim....Keep up the good work!
Once again I'm surprised at how much O'Rourke is able to put into these relatively short instalments, but every time he manages it.
Every instalment answers a question or two, but brings with it many more questions that need answering. For now we know the Witch's name, but not what happened to her. We know the Vampires are still alive, but what do they want with Shade and its people and where are the werewolves? I had my suspicions, but with Calix being honest with Mila I thought he would tell her but he hasn't... does this mean I was wrong or does Calix still have a few secrets he's hiding?
Tim, how do you do it time after time! Yet another huge cliff hanger.
This book takes us deeper in to the lives of the people of shade. We begin to get the truth and more conflicting answers to how and why the people of shade are there. Mila seems to be accepted as one of the gang with the others, and is expected to step up to the mark.
I love these books but they are too short and now I finished this book will get the sixth. I think that is in final book. I would have preferred one good size book and I feel like I have spent a bit this way. Good story loving the excitement.
What talent this author has! I'm enjoying reading this story like gun swingers at the ok coral lol. Even tho they seem short they are packed with action romance and mystery
