Asher was everything I hoped he'd be and more.
And Lili? Absolutely perfect for him.
There's something so healing about watching two people who are always the ones taking care of everyone else finally find someone who takes care of them.
Their dynamic completely stole my heart. Asher is that perfect blend of strong, protective alpha hero who melts into a total softie for his woman. And Lili? She's fierce, resilient, and guarded on the outside, but underneath it all she's incredibly loving and deserving of the kind of love she finally finds.
If you need me, I'll just be over here wishing I was her.
And Lili? Absolutely perfect for him.

A side note, I feel like Vi is so misunderstood. She’s the grumpy sad sister who hasn’t got someone to lean on. I’m really hoping we see her again!

Secrets + Chaos + Twists = Anxiety Overdrive
OK Besties… let's chat about "Beautiful Revenge" because I have thoughts. Now, hear me out before the pitchforks come out. I had been anticipating Asher’s story from the beginning, and I think I just had a completely different picture in my head of where his journey would go. Now listen… did that stop me from enjoying this book? Absolutely not❣️
Lili was an absolute baddie and I loved her fierce, ride-or-d!e energy. I just struggled connecting with her at some moments. As for Asher and Lili together? I personally wasn't fully sold, but that's totally a me issue.
Now for the juicy parts... because YES I still enjoyed this read! So, what absolutely had me hooked though?? THE SUSPENSE. Besties, this book opened with my anxiety in full overdrive mode. Captive x captive? Secrets? Lies? Missing people? Then just when I thought I could breathe, E.M. threw plot twists at me and sent my stress levels right back through the roof.😳

I have been waiting for Asher's story since the very beginning of the Briarwood series, and while it wasn't exactly what I imagined, it was still an emotional, suspenseful, and highly addictive read.
Beautiful Revenge throws you straight into the action. Lili and Asher meet under the worst possible circumstances: both are being held captive after sacrificing themselves for the people they love most. That shared loyalty and selflessness immediately creates a connection between them, and from there the story becomes a gripping mix of survival, secrets, danger, and romance.
Lili was easily one of my favorite parts of the book. She's fiercely loyal, incredibly strong, and willing to shoulder impossible burdens for her sister. I loved that she wasn't portrayed as a damsel in distress. Even when she's scared, she's constantly fighting, planning, and doing whatever it takes to protect the people she loves. Underneath her tough exterior, though, she's vulnerable and carrying more pain than anyone realizes.
And then there's Asher.
After seeing glimpses of him throughout the series, I had high expectations, and for the most part, he delivered. He's protective, possessive, dominant, and completely devoted once he decides Lili is his. The "touch her and die" energy was absolutely present, and I loved watching him go from captive to fierce protector. He has a dirty mouth, a soft spot for the people he loves, and all the grumpy, protective hero vibes that make him impossible not to fall for.
What really kept me turning the pages was the suspense. Between the captivity, the search for Vi, hidden truths, dangerous enemies, and constant twists, there was always something happening. Every time I thought I had things figured out, another revelation would appear and send me spiraling in a different direction.
That said, the romance didn't hit quite as hard for me as I expected. I enjoyed Asher and Lili individually, but I wasn't entirely sold on their connection at every moment. Their relationship develops quickly, which made sense considering the intense circumstances, but I found myself wanting a little more emotional buildup between them.
The spice, however, definitely delivered. The chemistry was intense, the tension was strong, and when these two finally gave in to their feelings, it was everything I expected from an Asher King book.
One thing E.M. Rose consistently does well is balance romance with an engaging plot. This wasn't just a love story. There were family dynamics, trauma, secrets, mystery, and emotional healing woven throughout. I especially appreciated how much focus was given to sibling relationships and the sacrifices both Lili and Asher were willing to make for their families.
I also found myself feeling incredibly invested in Vi's storyline. She's such a complex and misunderstood character, and by the end of this book I wanted nothing more than to see her get the happiness she deserves.
Overall, Beautiful Revenge may not have been exactly the Asher story I imagined, but it was still a fantastic addition to the Briarwood universe. Between the suspense, emotional moments, protective hero, strong heroine, and addictive storytelling, I couldn't put it down.

E.M. Rose has truly done it again with Beautiful Revenge and I am still sitting in my feelings over this one. Every single time she releases a book I think there is no way she can top the last and somehow she always does.
I say this all the time and I mean it with my whole chest. E.M. Rose is an incredible writer who brings her characters to life in a way that feels so real it almost hurts. Yes I am lucky enough to call her a friend and be on her street team, but I would be screaming about her books just as loud either way. She has a permanent spot on my trophy bookshelf and I gift her books to everyone in my life because they are just that good.
Lili completely stole my heart. Her strength, her loyalty, and the sacrifices she makes for her sister hit deep. You feel everything she is going through and you cannot help but root for her every step of the way. She is fierce but also vulnerable in a way that makes her feel so real.

Lili and Asher’s story starts in absolute chaos. Both are being held captive, and while Asher is trapped and heavily drugged, Lili becomes the last thing he sees before everything changes. Their connection happens FAST, but honestly in a situation that intense, it kind of made sense for the story. Lili knows she can’t escape and leave him behind, so she risks everything to break him out with her.
Once they escape, the story really turns into this messy, emotional hunt for answers surrounding Lili’s missing sister, Vi, while layers of secrets and past trauma start unraveling. Between fake identities, dangerous people from their past, family drama, and all the darkness surrounding these characters, there was constantly something happening.

After slowly being introduced to Asher throughout the Briarwood series, as well as getting a bit more of him in Savage Love, I have been waiting to find out what kind of man he is. All of us in the street team fell for him from day one, so we were all extremely excited about this book. & it did not disappoint.
Asher is a badass! I love how he has this mob boss-like quality to him, without actually being a mob boss. He takes charge & isn't afraid to do what needs to be done. He's a little bit grumpy & very protective, but he also cares deeply. Not just for his family, but for a woman he barely even know. Our fmc, Liliana has been on her own for years so she's very independent. & of course she's bratty & feisty, but also sweet & caring.
Both Asher & Lili have been through a lot. They both had to take on the role of parent to their siblings, & when it comes down to it they will both do what they need to to protect them. Which is how they found each other. But they also learn that they too need to be cared for, which is hard to admit sometimes.
I loved the dynamic between Asher & Lili. They got along so well, even with the 11 year age gap. & when they eventually took THAT step it was intensely hot 🥵. Asher is zaddy! I always knew Asher would be that kind of man in the bedroom 😉😏
I love how E.M. Rose incorporated Violet's story, & how the ending leads up to book 2 of the Savage Love series, Pretty Reckless. I can't wait to read what's next for our girl Violet.

Lili wants to get to her sister and Asher refuses to leave her side so he tags along as well to keep her safe in case the family of their captors try to catch them again. Lili soon find out that her sister is missing and she’s having to expose her past to Asher in hopes to find her sister. Also, he’s a bodyguard???
This is a very quick insta-love book that is easy to read. Lili and Asher both seem to fall in love with each other within days of meeting. I enjoyed all the pet names that Asher would call Lili and the light mentionings of dom/sub. I wasn’t super into this book, but the writing was well done and it is a quick read. I just wish they had developed more of a mental relationship for longer, not sure if that makes sense. I also am not sure that I would classify this as dark romance, but maybe like lightly grey romance?? I do like that they both love their families and those in their lives.

Beautiful Revenge was a short dark romance read featuring a bodyguard MMC, Asher, who protects Lilli, the FMC after they escape from a crime family together. Both having taken the fall for their siblings, they build a quick and passionate connection as Asher helps Lilli find where her sister disappeared to.
The story itself delivers what it promises, but I personally felt the plot was rushed and needed more exposition to really paint a picture. Though the 6th book in the series, the ARC was presented as able to read as a standalone. While this is technically true, I think that there is frequent mentions of other people and events that would add a lot more to this book and any connection to the characters surrounding the main characters, as well as a better understanding of what is going on. Lilli's story is insular, but Asher's is not given as much focus in this book.
Overall this was a good, short insta-love story with a lot of dark themes and spice. I appreciate the reading opportunity!

I jumped into the Briarwood series starting at Book 6, Beautiful Revenge, and now I’m already planning to circle back to Book 1 because this pulled me in fast.
Asher and Lili’s first meeting is anything but typical…they meet while being held captive, which definitely sets the tone right away. From the moment they escape, there’s this strong sense of loyalty between them. Asher is determined to keep Lili safe, even when she tries to leave to find her sister. Instead of letting her go, he steps up and helps her, which really shows the kind of character he is.
What I loved most was the progression of their relationship. Watching them go from strangers to allies to something deeper felt natural and satisfying. Their connection builds in a way that keeps you invested the whole time.
This was a fast, engaging read with just the right mix of tension and romance. Definitely worth picking up, and now I’m looking forward to experiencing the entire series from the beginning.

The fact that E.M Rose was able to basically intertwine three plots into one and it flows together perfectly for the main story is chefs kiss! The detail, the character building, hidden stories about characters past (even the side characters!!!) the Spice!!! Truly amazing. Couldn’t get enough. This book has honestly made me put the books prior in this series and the book following this one in my TBR. And no you don’t need to read the books prior to this one to understand. It can be read as a stand alone.

YES!! I am FERAL for Asher! I couldn't put this book down! The care, the connection, the suspense, the tension... this book is a PAGE TURNER! I loved it start to finish.
Asher won me over before I ever started this book and after reading his story, I'm fully solidified in my love for him. Lili is fierce and caring and the perfect match for him. They hold so much emotion for each other! Lili is a fighter. She's not going to sit back and take anything and Asher will protect her no matter what.
This story took many turns that I didn't expect, each one pulling me further in. I let out so many gasps and giggles throughout this book and I wouldn't have it any other way! This book completely pulled me in from the very first chapter and never let go. The characters felt real, emotional, and so easy to connect with, and the chemistry was absolutely unforgettable. I found myself completely invested in every twist, every emotional moment, and every bit of tension along the way.
The writing flowed so naturally and made it impossible to put down. I laughed, stressed, swooned, and honestly did not want the story to end. The author did an amazing job creating a world that felt immersive and addictive while still giving the characters depth and heart.
If you love emotional moments, incredible chemistry, and a story that keeps you hooked until the very last page, this is definitely a must read. Easily a 5 star read for me and I will absolutely be reading more from this author.

Beautiful revenge
First time reading anything from this author and let's just say I was hooked from the get go especially from their first encounter I just couldn't put it down and hot damn I need a cold shower after some of those steamy scenes, Ash and Lili are so damn amazing together, I understand them both so much, the plot was amazing and the characters were relatable. I truly loved these two together it made them stronger and it didn't feel forced for either of them.
Really, truly wish I could forget this book just to experience this for the first time again.

This short dark romance features Lili, a strong, loyal FMC. The sacrifices she made for her sister felt raw and real. Asher is protective, loyal and the kind of man you can't help falling in love with. The connection between him and Lili is intense and keeps you turning the pages. The tension, the secrets and the danger gives the story the perfect balance. I was so consumed that I finished in 24 hours.

No complaints from me. I just wanted a quick fun read. Though the plot was more interesting than I thought it would be. I personally think that Lilli was worried about the wrong things sometimes. No notes for Asher. Not as much action as I thought there would be, seeing how the book opened but eh. Read if you've got time to kill.

This book is so much in so few pages. Literally. If you have a free afternoon, get lost in this one.
Oops...EM Rose did it again with Beautiful Revenge...making me fall in love with her main characters. I was hooked right from the very first page. I needed to know how Lili and Asher got out of the situation they were in. I needed to know who Lili really was. I needed to know where everyone was!!!
This book also leads beautifully into her next book coming out in less than a week, and I can't wait to see where the story goes for all the characters.
