Explicit teaching of healthy psychology/emotional intelligence to the fore! Yeah! This book is doing its bit there showing one great part is the importance of kindness. This type of book is an essential staple in all young children’s book rotation along with the rest of the ones in this feelings series. How being kind to yourself is the best thing to do for number one and all else. The benefits flow on to everything! There’s a page at the back with a little exercise to practice emotional intelligence and questions to reflect on kindness. Written by a bunch of experts in child psychology n development. The illustrations are the cute type where the heads are about the same size as the rest of the body.
For me, being a mother is a constant learning. I've learned a lot through this almost 3 years of motherhood. Especially learning about feelings. To be honest, I was always thought feelings were not important. However, since I become a mother, I always want my son to know how he feels, and it makes me learning about feelings more. Something I thought was not important, turned out to be one of the most important things now. This book taught my son (and me!) that we need to be kind to other people but most importantly to ourself. What a good book! I love the illustration.
I feel like this book has an accurate description on how to be kind and how to feel kind. It helps you know different ways to be kind to others but also shows you how to be kind to yourself. I've never read a book for children that explains that you have to be kind to yourself as well. It's amazing.
Trace Moroney describes emotions for younger readers: what it's like to feel "kind" (ie friendly, altruistic, nice) and to a certain degree what kind people do. The best part of these little books is the lovely artwork; they lend themselves to conversation with the child reader about what kindness really is and how it is best expressed. There's an end note for teachers and parents.
My son is naturally kind (and this book tells me I'm not being biased). Reading this book allowed me to point out to him what a beautiful person he is because of all the kind things he does for others. It's a special little book and created a very special moment that I hope planted a seed of self love in my little boys mind.
Bello, bello. Hermosas ilustraciones.
This book is about how children can show kindness to others and yourself. It also explains how it makes others feel when you are kind. The book is short and sweet, the colors are amazing.
Tracey Moroney illustrates beautifully and this book is such a lovely way to talk to my toddler about feelings. We have the whole series and I think they will come in very handy as my toddler grows.
I really like this book for young readers. The story shows how being kind usually ends well. It shows the children what it means to be kind and how to use manners and how to show people how to be kind. I think its a great book to help children see how communicating properly can make things go in their favor often times than not. Very well illustrated and very cute.
This is a great story about teaching children to be kind to one another. The text is clear and easy enough for a toddler to understand. The illustrations demonstrate very well how the characters are feeling.
Great to show how to express yourself and how to be kind to others. Kids will be able to relate to the situations shown and the illustrations are very accurate and go with the text on the pages.
This story has great illustrations and is easy for children to understand and read. The lesson is one that children need to learn at a young age, and should be taught throughout the school year.
4.25 Stars This book is warm and squishy in a good way! Some times books like this can be sappy..but this was great! Very nicely done with sweet pictures (with out being too sweet) and a great message. I also like the parent talking points at the end!
