3.5 stars...

I liked this book,it wasn't bad,but with the premise like that I have to say I expected more.

When reading a fantasy, like this one,I need to be sucked into the world I'm reading about. Unfortunately, here I wasn't...there was not much in the way of world-building,and bacically angels were like humans, with one difference being that angels don't eat. Their world was also not that diferent from ours - they have apartments in which they reside,buildings...I have to say I expected something more imaginative. Although I must say liked the juxtaposition of Archangels and Protectors.

As for the romance...I expected for this book to be an emotional read, but for me the opening scene in which Raziel is sripped of his memories was emotional peak of this book. Not the reunion of lovers (even if one them doesn't remember the love they shared),not the momment when ,but one short scene at the very beginning. I must say,it pulled on my heart strings, but the rest of the story...not so much.

All in all,not bad,but I had higher expectations.

murder, mystery, suspence, subterfuge, betrayal and scorching erotica. Who could believe all this is occurring amongst celestial beings in heaven. Raziel archangel prince of Thrones sacrifices everything that he is to save the life of his lover/soulmate Archangel Uriel from demons and death. Little did anyone know that darker forces were setting a vicious plan to throw off the balance in heaven. Stripped of everything and re-assimilated with a new identity Raziel ascends the commander of the protectors. There's a conspiracy brewing amongst the angels and the protectors which is manipulated by propaganda and infused with murder.

This is a great start of a new series, I could honestly says I was enthralled. The story is plotted so well that I look forward to future installments.

Four and a half stars!
This story was completely fascinating! I loved that they created this whole society for angels with rules and structure and used common and not so common angel mythos. There’s so much set up for this series and I hope there are many books to come. The set up was done pretty effortlessly as well. I didn’t realize until the end of the story that I was like “Wait, I want his and his and his AND HIS story too!”. Uriel broke my heart with how he suffered the loss of Raziel. He shut down and barely existed for many years and when finally forced to face him, it was re-love at first sight. I thought Izar was a fascinating character with how he questioned everything but still had conviction and held moral ground. The love between Uri and Izar was absolutely beautiful and their happy ending was perfect. The mystery was an interesting twist. I figured out who did it pretty quickly, but not the why and how. Those were important parts to the mystery so it was still keeping me on the edge of my seat to find out what happened.

The emotional impact of REDEMPTION is stunning. My heart broke when Raziel sacrificed himself for Uriel, and wept when he returned to Uriel's life as Izar. The intricate character development, detailed world building and captivating story are flawlessly interwoven. I was swept away by the brilliant beginning of Viki and Vina's latest series and am eagerly anticipating the arrival of book two!
