Everything Thane Kinsell knows about history is a lie. The truth is worse.
Turning eighteen was supposed to mean freedom.
Instead, Thane’s parents force him to attend a seven-day school hidden in the Arizona desert. No internet. No contact with the outside world. And after five minutes in class, he’s already wondering what kind of place he’s been sent to.
Then the lessons begin.
History didn’t happen the way Thane was taught. His family isn’t who he thought they were. And the strange ability he’s spent his life trying to understand is only the beginning of what has been hidden from him.
Because humanity has never been alone.
For thousands of years, rival factions have lived among us, quietly influencing history while fighting a war most humans don't even know exists. They answer to an ancient authority known only as The Eleven—and every choice carries a consequence.
Now Thane is about to learn why his family sent him to the Academy of Vision.
And what they're preparing him to become.
Knowing the truth will change his life. Surviving it may change the fate of humanity.
Mixes philosophy, aliens, an alternate explanation for major biblical events! Fascinating possibilities are exposed as explanations for much of what we have been exposed to in our understanding of the history of humanity.
I really enjoyed this book. The historical take was thought provoking. I enjoyed the character development and dialogue. I will read the rest of the series.
