Sebastian finally got his chance! I swear watching him shoot his shot with Sutton a few times, finally paid off. That friendship came in handy. While Sutton is in her own crisis, he steps up, and being the true gentleman and friend he is, helps her out in every way he possibly could. He helps provide her with a safe space, while encouraging her and supporting her through one of the most confusing and challenging times in her life.
Suttons life literally changes and when Bash offers his place for her to move into, they find themselves in a roommate situation. But the relationship that blossoms between the two is full of chemistry, and sparks, and true friendship and love. There’s no denying it. It’s just a matter of them owning up to their feelings.. making their HEA such a beautiful ending.

Review of Advanced Reader copy - thank you Marissa James
Now if you have been following this series you will finally get Sebastian and Sutton's story - we saw him shoot his shot and now its their turn... What started out as Sutton needing help with a place to stay and a surprise pregnancy (not his baby) turns into a marriage of convenience, blackmail and might I add pierced MMC with a breeding kink.
Sebastian is such a sweet book boyfriend: he's fiercely protective, beyond patient (the man lets her move in at the drop of a hat) and is completely gone for Sutton. This is a quick read, and was longer than the previous book I've read by Marissa - boy do we love our Hockey Romances

Sutton & Seb
Line Change is such a good book. It is not your typical hockey romance. Seb has been down bad for Sutton for a while now and this is his chance to be there for her. Through the whole book he is waving a big green flag. I couldn't get enough of all the little things he'd do for Sutton or the fact that he just wanted to be in her orbit.
I think this by far is my favorite way to read a pregnancy when it's not his baby AND when the MMC is such a well developed character. Our FMC Sutton also has depth. She has her reasons for not trusting off the rip and she also has reservations about receiving help from others. She doesn't want to be a burden. She wants to figure it out.
I loved this book so much.

Sebastian and Sutton work together but unlike most hockey romances, it is usually the woman who has a crush on the player. In this case, Bash has asked Sutton out numerous times but Sutton refused. Its not that Sebastian isn't nice but she distrusts men with money due to her father. She is letting her past dictate her future.
Sebastian has been an NHL player for years and hopes to stay with the Orlando Storm until her retires. He is originally from a farm overseas where is family still resides. As the eldest child he carries the weight and responsibilities of taking care of his family. Its something he does an an obligation and now he faces the possibility of losing either the career he loves or his childhood home. No one should ever have to sacrifice happiness for any reason. He has been attracted to Sutton since meeting her and wants to get to know her as more than a friend.
Sutton comes from wealth but chose to leave that life behind. She didn't want to be a pawn or to let her life be dictated by a business deal. Her father treated her siblings like chess pieces making them do whatever made him the most money. Sutton refused to be part if that life and chose to forge her own path. She worked for the Storm and refused to rely on anyone other than herself. She didn't like asking for help or taking help when offered. She always looked for the strings attached.
When Sebastian learns that Sutton is temporarily homeless and pregnant he offers her a place to stay. He wants nothing in return but she is skeptical. Soon she realizes that Sebastian is different from every other guy she knew with money. The more times she spends with him and his teammates, she realizes that they all are genuinely good men who treat their wives and girlfriends wonderfully. They aren't like her father and money isn't their priority. They spoil their girls not control them. She misjudged them all.
When Sutton learns about the conditions of an unexpected inheritance, Sebastian offers his assistance again but he asks for help in return. Sutton agrees because if she doesn't her father will receive the inheritance. She refuses to let him take anything else away from her. She has been hurt enough by his greed and manipulations. She needs to protect herself and her child from him and she will use the inheritance to do that. Sebastian promises to protect her as well but she doesn't want him to be hurt because of her father's threats that he will follow through on. Sutton is forced to take action to protect her friends, her team, Sebastian, and herself. She will not allow her father to bully the people she loves. Watching Sutton challenge her father and building a relationship with her also gave Sebastian a new perspective regarding family. He loves his family back home but now he realizes that he has a family in Orlando that needs him too. He starts thinking about what he needs and wants for himself instead of focusing on a promise he made years ago.
I loved Sebastian and Sutton because their relationship was not easy for either of them. Being together might have seemed effortless but the personal growth was something unexpected. Sutton learned that not everyone is like her father, money and affection are not linked. Sebastian learned that putting his own needs and wants first is not selfish. What started out as a deal became something magical and they both got their happily ever after.

I did not read the first four books in this series, but found I did not need to in order to get the full experience from this one. But now I will be going back and reading them all because I loved Sebastian and Sutton's story.
Sutton works for the Orlando Storm hockey team in PR/marketing. She has loved her job and her life until she ends up in full chaos mode when her condo is in need of major repairs, forcing her to move out, and then she finds out she is pregnant from a one night stand all in the same day. Sebastian, a player for the team, offers her a place to stay for the night so she can figure things out. Sutton reluctantly agrees because she has turned him down multiple times when he has asked her out over the last year and does not want to complicate their friendship. Sutton works hard and is fiercely independent having separated herself from her very overbearing and borderline abusive father. She feels a man with money has too much power so she steers clear. She makes her own way, no matter what. Until Sebastian.
Sebastian, being British, calls Sutton "love" out of habit but it feels like it could mean more. He has pined for Sutton since the day he met her, but she has shut down any of his advances. He sees this chance to help her as the perfect time to take his shot and prove he is worthy of her.
"Bash" is an absolute dream man. Taking care of her needs without her even asking, going along to appointments, then offering to marry her so she can inherit the money her late grandmother left for her. He falls for Sutton hard and she begins to rethink her men with money rule. She sees that he shows up again and again in every way. He even helps her with pregnancy hormone needs...and man is it hot.
When Sutton is threatened by her father, Sebastian and the guys from the team step up in a big way to help her. It is amazing how ride or die their friend group is. These people will show up carrying the shovels and only ask "where are we burying the body and who is driving?". They are exactly the kind of people you want in your life. I loved every one of these characters, well except her father, but that is by design.
The story flowed so smoothly I was able to read this in one sitting. It was also because I did not want to put it down because I had to know how this was going to work out. I am also anticipating the next book in the series based on a few clues we got in this one. I am now a very big Marissa James fan. I cannot think of a single bad thing to say about this book and would very much recommend giving this a go.

Sebastian is a man down bad and I was here for a every bit of it. He knows what he wants and that's so clearly Sutton and it has been for a long time. Due to personal reasons she's turned him down every time but the reasons make sense so read this story y'all ;)
Sebastian and Sutton have known one another for quite some time now. They work together for the Orlando Storm and have the same friend group (I love found family series y'all). Sebastian finds Sutton during a bad moment which leads him to doing everything in his power to show her that she can rely on him. He shows up for her over and over again throughout their journeys
Sutton's relationship with her family is complicated and that's putting it lightly. We discover very quickly that she doesn't like men with money (one of the reasons she's turned down Sebastian). Her father used money/power her entire life so when Sebastian comes along who is a very successful hockey player, Sutton institutionally pushes him away
Sebastian continues to be there for her, especially during her pregnancy, she begins to see him in a whole new light. Over time she realizes that he is not her father (thank the Lord for that). The more time these two spend together... the more Sutton starts to regret keeping him at arm's length or in the friend zone for too long
When Sutton and Sebastian finally got together (for real) I was smiling from ear to ear because they were so perfect for each other! I know understand why everyone who had read the first four books of this series were so excited for these two to get their happily ever after. At some point in the foreseeable future I am going to read this entire series so I can get the full effect of Sutton and Sebastian's story
If you are a fan of Found Family, Protective and Obsessed MMC, Hockey Romance, Marriage of Convenience (just to name a few tropes) then this book is for you! Marriage of Convenience is one of if not my favorite trope so I knew that I was going to love this story because those seem to always deliver
This book is heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time that's filled with swoon worthy moments as well as emotional scenes that pull at your heart strings. The romance is sweet and the spice is hot in Line Change so the balance between those two was something I really enjoyed :)

You know, we're all in our hockey era and Marissa James delivered.
Sebastian has been pining for Sutton since he was traded to the team. And while she isn't willing to date anyone at work, so she has continually shot him down. We aren't used to the professional athlete chasing after a woman... but I'm here for it. Somehow I keep finding these stories where the MC is the most golden retriever-y book boyfriend ever. We also learn he is the eldest child in his family and he carries that weight and those responsibilities with him by thinking he will have to return home (England) to take care of the family farm when he retires.
Sutton is a lady boss in her own right. Leaving her manipulative family behind because she didn't want to be treated as a pawn in her father's life or be told what to do because of business deals. She left the life of money behind to forge her own path. What she didn't expect was the two pink lines that would change her life forever. A one night stand and here we are. When Seb finds her, in her office, in tears, he finds out a lot of information about her all at once... she's temporarily homeless and pregnant. He doesn't flinch; he offers her a place to stay. Still, she's always skeptical of men with more money than they know what to do with... her father's fault.
When Sutton learns the conditions of an unexpected inheritance, Seb steps in to save the day and agrees to marry her... because if she doesn't follow through, her father will inherit it and the hotels that come with it. She agrees to this to protect herself and her baby. Seb is willing and ready to do whatever he can to protect her, help her... and show her how much he cares for her. He is down bad, and he's not afraid to show it.
While their relationship was built on convenience and protectiveness, they really grew together as a couple naturally and it was amazing to watch Sutton grow to trust Seb with each passing day. Phew!

The dedication, the determination, the unwavering way he stood beside Sutton… I was GONE. 🫠 The way he protected her when her family tried to take everything from her just so good. Watching him fight for her, believe in her, and remind her that she wasn’t alone had my heart absolutely melting.
And can we talk about the found family?! That trope hits SO much harder for me in sports romance, and I loved every second of it. Getting to catch up with the previous Orlando Storm couples and see where life has taken them was such a fun bonus. I love when a series gives us those little glimpses into happily-ever-afters. 🥹❤️
But now I have ONE very important question… Elias and Ainsley. 👀 Because excuse me… there is DEFINITELY something happening there, and I need answers. Like, immediately.

This book absolutely fed me. 🤭 Between the marriage of convenience, accidental pregnancy (not his baby), blackmail plot, and breeding kink, I was hooked from beginning to end.
The MMC (Sebastian) was everything I wanted in a book boyfriend : protective, patient, completely gone for the FMC (Sutton) , and not afraid to make his feelings known. His pierced, dirty-talking, consent king self paired with his breeding kink definitely turned the spice all the way up. 🌶️🥵
The accidental pregnancy (not his baby) trope added so much emotional tension, and I really enjoyed the initial misdirection of the marriage of convenience slowly becoming something real. The found family moments balanced out the heavier themes of emotional parental abuse and the blackmail storyline, giving the romance even more depth.
While the FMC's past family trauma and her situation had her making some questionable decisions at times, it felt authentic given everything she was dealing with. The chemistry between these two was off the charts, and once they admitted their feelings for each other, there was no turning back.

Sebastian is the perfect book boyfriend and it made my heart melt reading him show up for not only Sutton but for her unborn baby. This story is heartwarming, heartbreaking, and totally swoon worthy.

This is the second book in the series that I’ve read. What I really enjoyed was how easy it was to read, along with the engaging dialogue and events that kept me interested throughout the book.
I liked both Sutton and Sebastian as individual characters, and especially enjoyed them as a couple. However, there was one thing that bothered me throughout the entire book: why didn’t Sutton tell the father of her child that she was pregnant with his baby? Doesn’t every person deserve to know something like that?
At one point, Sutton says that for both of them it was just a one-night stand and that she doesn’t even know him. But she still withheld a very important piece of information from him. Since she knows nothing about him beyond their sexual encounter, she has no way of knowing whether he would have wanted to be involved in his child’s life or not.
It was sweet of Sebastian to accept the child as his own and to care equally for both Sutton and the baby, but honestly, regardless of the fact that this is just a book, this part really bothered me.
Aside from that, I thought the book was good, kept my attention, and I really liked the way the found family trope was highlighted.

I read the previous book in this series, and while it wasn’t my favorite book, i wanted to give the next one in the series I try and especially with all the hints we got about Sutton and Sebastian, I really wanted to know how their story was going to work . Unfortunately, i just really didn’t enjoy this story and I expected more from them, so I just feel disappointed.
From the very beginning, it’s very obvious that Sebastian has feelings for Sutton, so I never doubted that he cared about her. For Sutton, I couldn’t really tell if she genuinely liked Sebastian, it just felt forced because she said she liked him, but her actions didn’t really show it. So because of that, it was hard to believe that they actually cared for each other.
I was also really bored with Sebastian’s storyline involving his family’s farm and the possibility of having to go back to England to take over the business. I understood where he was coming from, but I honestly couldn’t stay invested because it felt like he was purposely making himself miserable when there were people literally offering ways to help him.
And even though I didn’t enjoy this story as much as I expected, I still want to read and find out what will happen with Ansley and Elias.

While I'm sad to see this series end, I'm so happy I found Marissa to go along on this ride. The way she weaves multiple plot points and found family into her stories is one of my favorite parts! I loved Sebastian showing up for Sutton every step of the way showing her how good things could be until she realizes wealthy doesn't mean manipulative. Not only does he show up for Sutton, but he really steps up with bonding and helping his teammates. I really hope we get an Elias and Ansley story next!

The cat is out of the bag quick when she reveals she’s pregnant…by a one night stand and she has two cats that are a deal breaker if they can’t come.
I felt their chemistry was forced. We are aware he’s had a crush and she’s turned him down. Now she’s changing her mind but can’t believe when their friends say he has feelings for her.
The pregnancy seemed like a forced trope in this one. Then we add fake marriage for inheritance. I’d rather have one than both. They also told everyone it was fake so I’m not sure how they got away with it.
The issues with her father did add some tension the story needed but it felt rushed with it being only the last 10-15% of the story.
I’m hopeful we’ll get Elias and Ansley next - I enjoyed that teasing and tension.

Line Change by Marissa James is a fun and engaging addition to the Orlando Storm series. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters and how their relationship developed throughout the story. There’s a great balance of romance, emotion, and hockey action that kept me turning the pages. I loved watching the relationship develop and seeing the characters navigate their challenges while finding their way toward each other. The romance had plenty of sparks, but there is also enough heart and vulnerability to make the emotional moments really stand out. James did a wonderful job bringing plenty of heart and swoon-worthy moments to the story without making it feel rushed. Overall, Line Change was hockey romance with strong chemistry, likable characters, and a satisfying happily-ever-after.

First book by this author and the first book in the series that I’ve read (even though it’s not actually the first book in the series). I was able to follow along without any difficulty, and now I’m curious about the other characters’ stories and plan to go back and read the earlier books in the series.
Marriage of convenience, found family, and sports romance—three of my favorite tropes! It was well written, and the plot moved along nicely.
Sebastian is definitely persistent and keeps pursuing Sutton. My heart kept breaking for him every time she turned him down. Sutton is kind of stubborn, and because she didn’t want to fall for a wealthy man, she kept pushing Sebastian away. But as they live together and help each other out, what starts as pretending to have feelings slowly turns into something real.
I enjoyed their story and will definitely be checking out the rest of the series.

This was really good. It’s the 5th book in the Orlando Storm series but the first from Marissa James that I’ve read. And it didn’t disappoint. Sutton and Sebastian are perfect for each other. They start out jumping into things out of necessity but then watching them fall in love was beautiful. Sutton is such a sweetie and Sebastian definitely gives golden retriever vibes. Shes got a lot on her plate family wise but Sebastian is there for her every step of the way.

I was lucky to get to read the ARC of this book and it was my first book of Marissa James. I had come across this book and when I heard it was a not his baby trope with marriage of convenience I knew I had to read it! Within minutes of starting the story I had immediately fell in love with Sebastian who I could tell was the textbook definition of a book boyfriend in how he has yearned for Sutton and when she needed help he offered her whatever he could without question. Seeing their love story bloom all while they both dealt with individual family issues was really special in how they supported each other along with the help they received from their group of friends. This story kept me hooked with all the romantic, spicy and even dramatic, tense moments. I definitely plan to check out more of Marissa's books!

Sutton and Sebastian are ADORABLE and PERFECT and you cannot convince me they’re not.
This story gives us a little bit of not his baby combined with a he falls first, which is only sweetened even further with a roommates situation and a bucketload of pining. Like, Sebastian’s got it bad for Sutton. And the man 👏🏼 shows 👏🏼 up 👏🏼.
I love how much he shows up, regardless of what he’s getting - he just loves Sutton and wants to take care of her, in whatever form she needs.
Sutton is such a good character! At first she seems standoff-ish, especially towards Sebastian, but as her layers peel back, we learn so much about her, her history, and it alllllll makes sense. I don’t know how she doesn’t flip tables at what she’s had to deal with.
All in all? Loved it, have to go back and finish the rest of the series.

Sebastian and Sutton have known each other a while and he’s asked her out previously and she declined. She just recently discovered that she’s pregnant and has to move out of her apartment due to water damage and Sebastian offers for her to stay with him. What starts as friends becomes even more when Sutton’s grandmother passes away and she’s left an inheritance but she has to get married. That opens the door for Sebastian to offer to be her fake husband. But fake doesn’t last long when feelings get real! He treats Sutton with such care and kindness and just wants her to be protected, safe, and taken care of. He shows her what it’s like to have someone put her first. She gives him a reason to enjoy coming home. They are a great match with plenty of chemistry!! The added element of her dad creating issues is an extra bonus to this wonderful fake to love romance!

One thing about the Orlando Storm series is that you’ll be hooked just a few pages in. I love that Sebastian and Sutton got their own book and how seamlessly each book flows into one another. I didn’t think anyone could take Wes’s place as my favorite but I think Sebastian is giving him a run for his money.
Marriage of convenience…SOLD! Not his baby but will do anything for them…SOLD! Endless yearning and no third act break up…SOLD!
As a (bolts) hockey fan I also appreciated the frustration regarding goaltender interference and the joke that is player safety. I was seriously getting pissed when reading those chapters.
