The Lonesome Call is hands down one of the best books I’ve read this year. As the third book in the Semideus Chronicles, it took everything I loved about the first two books and elevated it to an entirely different level. I already thought the series was fantastic, but this book tied everything together so perfectly and put the entire story into perspective in a way that completely blew me away.
Around chapter 22, this book completely consumed me. From that point on, I could not put it down. The nonstop trials, intense battles, emotional sacrifices, and the way the characters came together through all the chaos made this story absolutely unforgettable. Every chapter had me feeling something. One moment I was laughing, the next I was ugly crying and completely sobbing over what these characters endured.
Derek’s story was incredible. His journey was emotional, powerful, heartbreaking, and inspiring all at once. Watching everything unfold for him made this book feel so personal and unforgettable. The author did such an amazing job balancing action, emotion, humor, heartbreak, and hope.
This book gave me every single feeling possible, and I loved every second of it. The Lonesome Call is easily one of the best books of 2026, and honestly, everyone needs to read this series. If you haven’t started the Semideus Chronicles yet, this is your sign. Absolutely phenomenal from beginning to end.
T.M. Ford builds worlds you get lost in and characters you never want to leave. I’ve been attached to these people that only exist on a page since Still I Stand and that’s never wavered. I told myself I’d pace myself with this one knowing it was the last and I completely failed. I couldn’t put it down and devoured it in one sitting.
Even though I’m not ready to say goodbye, I’m excited for whatever comes next.
TM Ford did an absolutely amazing job immersing us in this world, and I truly loved how everything wrapped up. It is a fantastic story from start to finish. The world building was incredible. The author crafted a rich, immersive setting that was easy to get lost in. A beautifully executed conclusion. While I really enjoyed getting to know the characters, the pacing left me wishing I had just a bit more time to connect with them on a deeper level. This was a wonderful conclusion to a great adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to seeing what TM Ford writes next!
When I thought I had no more tears left to shed—I was wrong.
I truly don’t even know where to start. I began this series a year ago hoping to support an indie author, never expecting the emotional attachment I would grow to have—not only to this world, but to these characters.
From the very first step into the world of Luminfae, I can confidently say I am both heartbroken and proud of the journey these characters have endured. Watching them grow—not only as warriors, but as people—has been such an unforgettable experience, and I genuinely cannot find the words to say goodbye.
So I won’t.
Instead, I’ll say: see you next time.
But T.M. Ford… thank you for giving me a world I fell completely in love with.
Also—I hate you. Not really. But I’m not okay. Yet somehow, I am.
What a way to end this trilogy!!! These characters are my family. How am I ever going to say goodbye?
The growth of the characters throughout this series, much less this book is so beautiful and moving. Each one of them has their own journey they must walk on, but in the end they come together to make the world right again.
I'm am beyond honored to be a part of this journey. I'm happy I got to see where everyone ended up. I have some choice words for the author about some things that happened because how can you do my friends like that.
I can't wait to see how this book/series impacts someone's life. I know some part of it will resonate with someone in some form or another.
