Scott Monroe, a high school senior and aspiring journalist, has always been one to search for the scoop behind any story, but gets more than he bargained for when he investigates the murder of a classmate and discovers that his own life may be in jeopardy.

Some say that the past will come back to haunt you, which proves true for the citizens of the formerly peaceful town of Bellumwood. After a classmate is murdered at a nightclub with no evidence as to whom the assailant was, Scott Monroe begins to do his own investigative work to find the perpetrator. After a series of various “coincidences,” Scott unveils the plans of a deranged murderer, who plans to kill off several members of the student body—including Scott. Along the way, he stumbles upon a dirty little secret kept by Bellumwood High School that occurred 26 years prior, which provides a startling twist that would definitely capture headlines in the newspaper. The death toll begins to rise, with no clues left other than ominous messages as the psychopath taunts police and pupils alike. Soon, Scott realizes that the murders all revolve around him as he attempts to unmask the killer.
