As a knitter and lover of mysteries, I was excited to find this series. But my hopes that the second book would be better written than the first, I was disappointed. There are so many errors. Ie. the mugs that are part of the story are described as 3 different colors in as many places. I think the fact of the main character being a tech editor is mentioned way too many times as is the workings of a tech editor. I don’t know why an author would name two character practically the same name as to initially cause confusion. Both books mention the reason she moved to this town but never explain what happened. It’s just like a forgotten fact. Also, what happened to the yarn store? The first book mentioned the cousin pushing to get rid of it and its contents but the circle still goes. I guess I read so much that I notice little things. But I also don’t understand how these things get past an editor. But it is a cute read.
This is the second book in this series. Clara and her knitting circle friends are on the case of another murder. This time, during the winter festival, a vendor drinks a cup of poisoned cider and dies. Clara is convinced the poison was meant for someone else and the murderer had planned it with the precision of a machine. Will Clara and her friends be able to determine the murderer and stop them before they attempt to kill their real victim again? The book was enjoyable but I found some inconsistencies with the story line. The author also repeated talks about Clara being a technical editor - maybe a touch too much.
