This story completely won me over with its perfect balance of raw vulnerability and cozy charm.
It follows Miles, a guarded firefighter dealing with heavy survivor's guilt, and Hanna, the empathetic psychiatrist who becomes his unexpected safe harbor. Watching their grumpy-sunshine dynamic evolve from a reluctant professional arrangement into a deep, supportive bond was incredibly rewarding. Their chemistry is both tender and intense, making every step of their journey toward healing feel deeply authentic.
What I loved the most about this one was the focus on emotional growth and the beautiful found family surrounding both characters. Hanna’s warmth and patience provide such a lovely contrast to the chaos Miles faces in his high-stress job, and the way they eventually embrace their feelings for each other is genuinely heartwarming. While the pacing had a few minor hiccups that kept it from being absolutely perfect, the sheer heart and sweetness of their relationship kept me hooked from beginning to end.
Ultimately, this is a beautiful, deeply touching read about the courage it takes to ask for help and the life-changing power of being truly seen by someone else. It manages to tackle heavy themes like PTSD and grief with grace, while still delivering plenty of passion and lighthearted moments.
It is the kind of story that leaves you feeling comforted and hopeful, and I am already eager to see what’s next for this wonderful cast of characters.

"As Long As You'll Have Me" by Rebecca Wrights is a wonderful story full of raw honesty, vulnerability, acceptance, and a great blossoming romance between the two main characters, Hanna (FMC) and Miles (MMC). Hanna is a sunshine-y psychiatrist, and Miles is a firefighter with PTSD who has gone through several life traumas that have shaped who he is and why, reluctantly and reticently, he needs a little extra help from Hanna. Since Hanna is his therapist, she doesn't want to blur professional lines between them and keeps her distance from Miles, but there is clearly an attraction between them that only gets exacerbated with every interaction they have. Eventually, their mutual pining and feelings become too big to ignore. I loved the relationship between Hanna and Miles. These are two characters who feel like real, lived-in people. Their dynamic is so well-written! They are so sweet together, but also become extraordinarily passionate as time passes and their feelings become stronger. Hanna sees Miles for who he is and how he is there for the people he cares about. She's soft with him, patient. Hanna never thought she could have a love like the one she's developing with Miles, but he makes her feel seen, never makes fun of the things she likes, like crocheting little animals, and loves her for who she is. They love each other loudly and publicly, which is new to both of them. I also loved the family dynamics at play here. Hanna has such a lovely relationship with her parents (and her best friend), as does Miles and his family (and found work family). Hanna integrates into his family so well that they accept her hands down. The way both of these families, found or otherwise, support their kids made me squeal with happiness. I also appreciate what this story has to say about therapy and asking for help. Miles is reluctant to see someone professionally, even though he knows the PTSD and nightmares he's having are unsustainable. This book never chastises those who choose not to seek help, but rather shows how therapy can be a gentle place to land in a world full of chaos, especially if you have a high-stress job like Miles. I cannot wait to read more books set in this world.

I 🧡LOVED🧡 this story!!! There were a few minor things that kept it from being 5stars for me, but overall… it was such a sweet, spicy, cozy book… & I loved every page!
Miles is a firefighter and is struggling with ptsd. Hanna is the psychiatrist Miles has been assigned to meet with by his fire chief. It’s clear there is chemistry there from the first meeting, so what will they do when Miles is straight forward and open about his attraction to Hanna and she is adamant on maintaining her code of ethics as a mental health professional?
First off, I am thankful Rebecca included her little message at the beginning of the book. She understands the ethical dilemma in the plot, and she reminded readers that this book is a work of fiction.
What I liked? This was a book I curled up with and didn’t want to stop reading! Miles and Hanna were such wholesome characters and I loved them! Miles was down bad from first sight… and he let Hanna know it! I LOVED this! There was no miscommunication about his feelings! While Hanna took a little time to respond to those feelings, she did break ties as his mental health professional when she did.
To make this read a 5⭐️: I felt like a few things were repetitive. There were also a few instances where I was a little lost on timeline… something that I thought happened the next day was a week ago. Etc. (I can’t remember either of these locations because I didn’t make notes of them, but I’ll come back and add in these details if I locate them!). I also wish there was a little more storyline with Miles and his continued therapy sessions. I need to know he’s going to be ok!!!

Since this book was TEASED, and for what we had a little sneak peek of in the last book of the Nat. 20 series, WE FINALLY have the pleasure of seeing MORE of Hanna and that firefighter in her office; Miles! AND OH MY GOD IT WAS TOO FUCKING CUTE!
After losing someone in his firehouse, Miles has to see the union psychiatrist mandatorily otherwise he’ll be benched. As a brooding grump, he attends the sessions but doesn’t expect to meet gray eyes that will see straight into his soul. AND DID THEY EVER?! As the time goes on, Miles’ hard exterior cracks open to reveal THE BIGGEST FUCKING SWEETHEART! He has SUCH A BIG HEART, and he is HONESTLY SO FUCKING ADORABLE! The way he presents himself, let alone how he shows that he cares towards others, I COULD NOT. He could tell me to sit ANYDAY and I would ask if he wanted me to BARK. Learning more about him, and how he grew up, my heart BROKE. But I am SO GLAD that he was able to find the family he did, because LOOK AT THEM! Miles, Carter, Cooper and Willow are a BUNCH OF MISFITS, but they blend so well together! I honestly CANNOT WAIT (and I’m crossing my fingers) that we get to see more of them in the upcoming books!
As for Hanna, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED HER! From the get-go she was SO KIND and SWEET! I really think that being a psychiatrist was what she was meant to do, with how much of an empath she is! Not to mention, she can hold her own, doesn’t let anything get her down, and has an amazing support system with her three parents, and her bestie Rae surrounding her!
The banter and chemistry between Miles and Hanna plus, ALL OF THAT FLIRTING WAS AMAZING! The moments between them WERE SO MAGICAL, even the little ones! This book COULD NOT BE ANY SOFTER and COZIER! My heart was MELTING! I was ABSOLUTELY FUCKING DYING at Carter and his antics! I need his book S.T.A.T! Of course, I COULD NOT FORGET mentioning the cameo for Conrad! AAAHHHH! With that being said, I NEED another book in this series SOON, as I need my next fix of the gang and I NEED MORE.

This sold me with the grumpy sunshine x firefighter romance and boy did I love it. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. It was like an episode of Chicago Fire but with better romance.
I love a broken man and a strong FMC. Both MC’s family and friends dynamics were chefs kiss. But the plot was fantastic, every trope so perfectly woven in. Now there are a few trigger warnings so I would suggested checking these before jumping in, unless you’re like me and you’re happy to raw dog it. I cannot wait for book two!

As Long as You'll Have Me was a really enjoyable read for me, especially because it centered around a firefighter. Any time I pick up a book with a firefighter MMC, I'm automatically interested, and this one had a lot of heart.
The grief and survivor's guilt woven throughout the story gave it an emotional depth that I wasn't expecting. Watching him struggle with the loss of one of his own while trying to navigate therapy, healing, and falling in love felt genuine and relatable. I also loved the relationship between him and Hanna. Their connection developed naturally, and there was something incredibly sweet about the little details: the crochet projects, the nickname "fireman," and the way she quietly became a safe place for him.
That said, as a firefighter myself, there were several moments that pulled me out of the story. I found myself wishing the author had done a bit more research into firefighter life, culture, and the realities of the job. Some of the details and day-to-day aspects didn't feel authentic, and when you work in the profession being portrayed, those inaccuracies can be hard to ignore.
Even with those issues, I still found myself invested in the characters and rooting for their happy ending. The emotional journey, the healing after loss, and the romance itself carried the story for me. If you're looking for a firefighter romance with plenty of heart, grief, healing, and a sweet love story at its center, this one is definitely worth picking up.

✨I don’t know what it is about firefighter romances, but they get me every time.
🚒Miles completely had my heart. He a grumpy, strong and has a heart of gold. 🫠He was hurting, trying to keep it all together, and carrying around so much guilt that you couldn’t help but feel for him.❤️🩹Watching him slowly open up was one of my favorite parts of the book.
💛Hanna was such a breath of fresh air. She was kind, patient, a little awkward in the cutest way, and I absolutely adored her. She never tried to change him, she just gave him a safe place to be himself, and I think that’s what made their relationship so special.🥹

🚒Miles completely had my heart. He a grumpy, strong and has a heart of gold. 🫠He was hurting, trying to keep it all together, and carrying around so much guilt that you couldn’t help but feel for him.❤️🩹Watching him slowly open up was one of my favorite parts of the book.
💛Hanna was such a breath of fresh air. She was kind, patient, a little awkward in the cutest way, and I absolutely adored her. She never tried to change him, she just gave him a safe place to be himself, and I think that’s what made their relationship so special.🥹

Very first book I read by Rebecca and my first firefighter romance, I was hooked on page one!! She did an amazing job. Miles and Hanna are my new favorite couple! I love how they were honest with each other.
Hanna being there for Miles while he going through a loss and dealing with PTSD, is amazing. I was laughing, crying, kicking my feet, you name it. Hanna and her family are so cute and sweet I love it! Miles and his firehouse are everything!

This was a fun one. I think I may have secret thing for firefighters.....shhhhh that will be our little secret.
This was the perfect book to curl up on a cold, rainy day. And thats exactly what I did. I forgot the outside world and just became so engrossed in the story, before I knew it, I was at the end.

There are parts of this book that I really enjoyed, and I think the representation of PTSD and grief was great.
However, it wasn't the kind of book that pulled me in and took over my brain.
The characters were cute, and even pretty funny. But I wasn't overly invested in them, in fact for a while I was more interested in his brother and Willa then in Miles and Hanna.
I also didn't love that Hanna repeatedly kept saying that nothing would happen - and he just kept ignoring her. He met her twice and decided that he knew what she wanted well enough to ignore her words which just felt a bit wrong to me.
Chasing your therapist who has repeatedly said no, and pushing through every one of her boundaries drove me nuts.
Overall, it was sweet and easy. But some parts definitely just were not for me.

Rebecca’s newest series truly brings cozy, warm vibes through the picturesque small town of Charleston, and introducing new characters such as, Hanna and Miles. Hanna and Miles first meet under not a traditional sense, but it gave them the opportunity to know each other, and gradually move away from being Doctor/ patient to a passionate and supportive romance. Not to mention, Miles, our MMC was a firefighter, a caretaker through and through, and of course…BEING SO DOWN BAD FOR HANNA! YESSSS! With other characters we meet along the way, this was a great start to the series.
The thing that I really loved and appreciate about Rebecca’s books is the way she pays special attention to everything. Whether it’s focusing on mental health representation, showing her characters actively working through their trauma in therapy, or gradually finding the courage to speak their mind about their feelings, there’s always a wide range of things Rebecca highlights in her books that goes to show the care and respect she has pertaining to the topics she covers. I also just genuinely like seeing characters like, Miles go to therapy especially after experiencing such a traumatic event while working as a firefighter. I can only imagine the mental toll firefighters and other first responders deal with on a day to day basis so, to see Miles talk to someone like Hanna, who is well versed in helping others work through the inner turmoil they are struggling with is real and vulnerable. Plus, I love how Hanna wasn’t afraid to call out Miles in their first session, kudos to her for being real with him.
Now, the romance in this book was really sweet, heartwarming, and passionate. Again, I just genuinely loved how Miles and Hanna were so honest with each other especially as they got to know each other more and became a couple. Miles at the start of this book was primarily known as being grumpy, but honestly whenever I saw him with Hanna, he seemed like a happy go lucky man. Never did I see Miles be such an unbearable grumpy man, he just had his slight moments where he was a tad grumpy, but not too much to the point that made him unlikable. The way Miles was SO DOWN BAD for Hanna was EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED! Miles was literally ready to kneel and BARK FOR HANNA IF SHE TOLD HIM TO DO IT! Like…whoa, that’s a man who’s wholeheartedly obsessed and willing to do ANYTHING FOR HIS WOMAN! The communication between Miles and Hanna was amazing, I love to see a healthy relationship between two adults and more importantly being there for each other through no matter what.
For this being the first book in Rebecca’s newest series, it was a great start because, you get a new set of lovable characters, and see who they navigate through life, love, hardships, and more. As Long As You'll Have Me completely stole my heart.
Rebecca Wrights has a way of creating stories that feel warm, comforting, and emotionally authentic, and this book was no exception. Set in Charleston and centered around Firehouse Nine, this first installment in the First Responders series delivered everything I love in a romance: emotional depth, found family, mental health representation, and a hero who was so incredibly down bad for his woman that I couldn't stop smiling.
Miles Adler is a firefighter struggling under the weight of grief, guilt, and PTSD after losing one of his fellow firefighters. When his captain forces him to attend therapy or risk being benched indefinitely, the last thing he expects is to meet Hanna Smith. What starts as a professional relationship quickly becomes something much deeper, and I absolutely loved watching their connection grow.
One of my favorite things about this story was how thoughtfully Rebecca handled mental health. Miles isn't magically healed overnight, nor is therapy portrayed as a quick fix. Instead, we get to watch a man slowly learn that asking for help doesn't make him weak. As someone who always appreciates seeing characters actively work through trauma and healing, this aspect of the story really stood out to me. Hanna provides a safe space for Miles without trying to "fix" him, and I loved how their relationship was built on honesty, vulnerability, and support.
And speaking of Miles... this man was EVERYTHING.
For someone who is supposedly grumpy, he spent most of the book completely gone for Hanna. The way he adored her, supported her, and fell hard was exactly what I wanted. Miles would have happily moved mountains for this woman if she asked. Every text message, every thoughtful gesture, every moment of concern had me swooning. He wasn't just protective—he genuinely saw Hanna, appreciated her quirks, and loved her exactly as she was.
Hanna was equally wonderful. Sunshine without being over the top, compassionate without losing her backbone, and completely unafraid to call Miles out when he needed it. I loved her relationship with her family, her crocheting projects, and the way she quietly became Miles' safe place. Together, they communicated, supported one another, and built one of the healthiest adult relationships I've read in a long time.
The found family in this book was also incredible. Whether it was the firefighters at Firehouse Nine, Miles' foster family, or Hanna's wonderfully supportive family, every relationship felt meaningful. There were so many moments that made me smile simply because these characters loved each other so fiercely.
What I appreciated most was that while this book tackles grief, trauma, PTSD, and loss, it never feels heavy for the sake of being heavy. Rebecca balances emotional moments with warmth, humor, friendship, and romance so beautifully that the story feels hopeful from beginning to end.
As Long As You'll Have Me is soft, cozy, emotional, and incredibly romantic. Miles and Hanna's relationship felt genuine, their growth felt earned, and their love story left me with a full heart and a huge smile on my face.

As Long As You’ll Have Me genuinely consumed my entire heart, and I have not been able to stop thinking about Miles and Hannah ever since I finished this book. First of all, I want to give the biggest thank you to Rebecca Wrights and House of Hearts Lit for graciously providing me with an ARC of this absolutely phenomenal story. I also feel incredibly honored that I was selected to beta read for Rebecca because I’ve known about this book for quite some time now, so finally seeing it released out into the world feels so surreal and emotional to me. The fact that I can finally scream about this book publicly makes me ridiculously happy because trust me when I say this story deserves every ounce of hype and recognition it gets.
Miles was such an exceptionally written character, and without a doubt, his emotional evolution was one of the most compelling aspects of this entire novel. Rebecca portrayed grief, PTSD, vulnerability, and healing with such authenticity and emotional intelligence that it felt painfully real at times. What I appreciated most about Miles was that he was never ashamed to acknowledge that he needed help. Watching him actively choose therapy and confront the emotional devastation he was carrying proved just how resilient and strong-willed he truly was. This book beautifully reinforces the idea that prioritizing your mental health is SO important, and I absolutely loved how Rebecca normalized seeking support instead of suffering in silence. Healing is not linear, and this story captured that reality in such a profound and compassionate way.
And Hannah… where do I even begin? I adored her with my entire soul. She was compassionate, patient, nurturing, and such a grounding presence throughout the story. I loved how she supported Miles while still allowing him the autonomy and space to navigate his healing journey on his own terms. Their relationship felt so organic, emotionally intimate, and undeniably genuine. Every interaction between them had me completely invested, and their chemistry was both heartwarming and deeply moving.

🚒❤️ As Long As You’ll Have Me had all the ingredients of a romance I should have absolutely loved—firefighters, found family, therapy, forced proximity, and characters in their 30s. And honestly? There were parts of this story that truly worked for me.
After losing one of his own, firefighter Miles is drowning in grief and guilt, haunted by the thought that it should have been him. Being forced into therapy to keep his job leads him to Hanna, a therapist with silver-framed glasses, crochet projects, and a warmth that slowly breaks through his walls. What starts as a reluctant appointment turns into something much deeper. ❤️🩹
One thing Rebecca Wright did beautifully was create characters that felt real and deeply caring. 🥹 The love between family members—both blood and chosen—was one of my favorite parts of the book. Firehouse Nine truly felt like a family, and I loved seeing how fiercely everyone cared for each other. The bond between the firefighters, Miles and his foster family, and the overall found family dynamic gave this story so much heart. ❤️🚒
Miles and Hanna were both well-written characters. Their relationship was sweet, soft, and comforting. I especially enjoyed the quieter moments between them—the little acts of care, the tenderness, and the feeling of finding safety in another person. 💕
That said, I struggled with the pacing. 😕 For some reason, the story felt much longer than it needed to be. I kept waiting for something to happen, but often it felt like I was reading the same emotions and situations repeatedly. The book wasn’t bad by any means—it simply never fully grabbed me.
I never got that “just one more chapter” feeling. 📚 Instead, I found myself putting it down often and not feeling the urge to stay up late reading. Despite liking the characters, the plot itself felt a little flat and lacking in momentum.
One aspect that especially surprised me was the therapy storyline. 🛋️ It was introduced as such an important part of Miles’ journey, especially considering his grief and PTSD, but after the initial setup, it seemed to fade into the background. I had hoped for a deeper exploration of healing and emotional growth through therapy, so its reduced presence felt a bit odd.
Still, this was undeniably a cozy romance with plenty of heart. 🌻 Sometimes a book doesn’t completely anchor you, even when you can clearly see its strengths—and that’s exactly how I felt here. I enjoyed the characters and the warmth of the found family, but emotionally, the story never fully pulled me under.

3.5 ⭐️ **I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
“‘I love you, fireman.’ ‘I love you, too, doc.’ ‘Come back to me.’ ‘I always will. As long as you’ll have me.’”
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the therapist/client trope, and I was right. As a therapist I really struggled with how Hanna handled the entire situation, she was extremely unprofessional in almost all of her interactions we were shown with Miles and her other clients. Also, the fact that there were 2 other professionals in the field that condoned this behavior was rough! This trope was also unnecessary for the plot since it was an immediate attraction and the whole time she was his therapist, they didn’t even dig into anything. Without this trope, I think it would’ve been closer to 4.5 stars.
Needless to say, I didn’t care for Hanna all that much, I think if the therapist trope was gone and there was more character development, she could’ve been a much better character. Now Miles? He fell a little too hard too fast, but he is definitely book boyfriend material! He definitely had a lot more character growth throughout.

I LOVED the found family aspect of this book! From friendships, to foster family, to workplace family, their two families showing up for each other, all of it was beautifully done.
“While it might not be the traditional type of family you see in movies or books, it’s the best kind of family I could have ever asked for.”
There was so much trauma packed into this story in so many different layers. And although the healing process needed some more work/development, it was still nice to have a depiction of PTSD that isn’t written to be overly terrifying or romanticized.
“‘You came into my life during one of my darkest times. I thought I was fine but I was drowning. Then you came into my life, not by choice, might I add.’ … ‘And, a little at a time, I started to feel lighter. The more time I spent with you, the less darkness I felt. I needed a guiding light to bring me back to myself and you’re that for me. My guiding light. The thing I look towards when I’m feeling lost or unsure. You bring me back to me, every time.’”
I do feel like the author spent a lot of time building up what I’m assuming is book 2, which may follow Carter. Especially towards the middle to end, it started taking over the romance between Hanna and Miles. But I’m curious to see what is in store for book 2!

Yeah!! I'm an absolute mess after finishing this book...but in the best way possible. If you love a romance that makes you feel everything, this one is about to wreck you and put you back together again while you enjoy every moment of it!
Miles, this incredible firefighter, who wants to believe he has it altogether, but inside, in his heart and mind he's completely drowning in grief and such a heavy burden he refuses to face. But help is on the way!
Miles is forced into therapy—which he obviously hates at first, and that’s where he meets Hanna. Mr Grumpy meets the biggest Sunshine and he can't that her radiance, love, warmth and compassion makes her someone he can trust. And you know it's going to get complicated because he’s supposed to be her client, but their connection is so undeniable that you’re just sitting there like, okay but HOW are they going to make this work? But its done so sweet and seamlessly that I had to take a moment to appreciate that!
It’s not just about the romance, though. The characters in this story are EVERYTHING. Both their families and friends, they’re all so present and loyal and they just wrap you up in all the huge, warm hugs they share.
What I loved most is that Miles is this big, rugged, protective guy, and Hanna is this soft, gentle soul who gets flustered if you look at her too long, but together? Omg, they just balance each other out perfectly. He gives her strength, and she gives him a safe place to break down. I like that there was none of that drama that comes from miscommunication or toxicity, and that their relationship was built on actual trust and listening and letting someone see you at your absolute worst!
I finished this book feeling so comforted and hopeful. Their story was the perfect reminder that even when trauma tries to break you, with the right people...and the right love...It can help piece you back together, one painful but healing moment at a time.
If you love a good cry, some second hand blushing at those spicy scenes, a good swoon and a happy sigh at the end, please, please pick this one up! I honestly can't wait to see who's next!

As long as you'll have me is the first book of the new "first responder" series, which takes place in the southern city Charleston. The fireman of 'fire department 9' are (i assume) central in this series, with Miles as the MMC - a walking green flag with the biggest heart. It's a character that might seem like a grump in the start, but boy is he a softie in the BEST way!!
As Miles is going through trauma after losing one of his comrades and collegue fireman, he does not want to admit to himself - or anyone for that matter - that he is not "fine". Enter a psychiatrist, Hanna. Without another option, he shows up for a session. But when they meet something in the room shifts. Her sweet and kind character opens something up, brings a breeze of lightness in the dark he did not realise was surrounding him.
I was wondering on how it was gonna work without being icky, as it starts off as a patient / doctor setting. I was afraid that it was gonna be ignored in a way or that it would be too long an excuse to act on their feelings but it was none of that, Wrights wrote the cutest "break up" for them to be together. Which might sound weird, but when one reads the book I know for certain anyone would feel the same giddy flutter reading that scene.
Both MCs have such an amazing personality, with quirks and all. I felt extra close to Hanna being one to crochet as well to turn of my mind and find some rest. Both have wit, are super lovable, have such a beautiful relation with their families that truely warms you up. The whole book feels like a piece of pie in front of the fireplaces snuggled up in a cozy blanket. Besides the MCs, the other characters are so intriguing and genuinely amazing. I am truely happy to know I don't have to say goodbye to all of them yet, and will wait - impatiently - for the next books. It was my first book by Wrights, but I know it will definitely not be my last.

Rebecca, as long as you’ll have me as a reader, you can count on me showing up for your books every single time.
Five books in, I think I know a thing or two about what Rebecca does best: she writes people. Real, flawed, beautifully human people who feel like they could walk right off the page and into your life. Characters you see pieces of yourself in, characters you become foolishly attached to. There is nothing overly complicated about her stories & that is exactly her magic. The heart, genuineness, emotional honesty, & care poured into every page is clearly vivid & present.
This book gave me everything I was hoping for: emotional depth, a heartwarming found family, thoughtful mental health representation, spicy chemistry, and banter that kept me smiling.
Miles & Hanna were equally wonderful yet not perfect. They had their own cracks, but they became each other’s safe place. Their relationship was built on communication, patience, respecting boundaries, and allowing the other person the space and time to deal instead of jumping in trying to fix them. Sometimes the loudest kind of love is the quiet one that consistently just shows up and that was theirs.
A firefighter who cooks, dotes on his woman like it is his life’s purpose, treats everyone he loves with kindness, and is a complete gentleman? Girl, you have hit the jackpot!
This was a great reminder that behind every house door is a different kind of family, a different story. What matters is not how a family looks to the outside, but the love, comfort, & unwavering support that lives within it. And that was precedent here for both Miles & Hanna; whether it’s the people they were born into or the ones they find along the way and become your people.
As always with Rebecca’s series, I am fully invested in this journey. The only thing left for me to do now is wait for the next book as I have an unhealthy level of investment in Carter’s happiness and well-being.

This was a great reminder that behind every house door is a different kind of family, a different story. What matters is not how a family looks to the outside, but the love, comfort, & unwavering support that lives within it. And that was precedent here for both Miles & Hanna; whether it’s the people they were born into or the ones they find along the way and become your people.
As always with Rebecca’s series, I am fully invested in this journey. The only thing left for me to do now is wait for the next book as I have an unhealthy level of investment in Carter’s happiness and well-being.

I love a good fireman book and this book did not disappoint.
Miles is a fireman at station nine and has been through alot in life not just as a fireman but also in his personal life.
The book opens to him at a funeral to one of his fallen brothers from the station and he feels guilty about what happened.
During a call out miles ends up freezing which is not good someone reports it to the captain who orders for him to go to therapy.
Hanna is a therapist is helps alot of people through there trauma and there ptsd she also has 3 parents her mum her dad and his patner which all off them are very close to each other as well.
When miles first goes to hanna he is very closed off and doesn't want to talk about it but after his first session he starts to realise that there might a little spark between them.
I love the forbidden side of things especially as hes her patient and no matter how much they try to fight there attraction between each it just keeps growing.
When miles and hanna decided to give it ago they was just so cute together from him texting her everytime he went out on a call and she just supporting him no matter what.
Miles supports hannas granny hobbies as well and he teases her about her bunny's deformed ear. He also always ask what project shes working on as well they are just the cutest couple.
The sense of family in this book not just in a adpoted sense but also with the fire house that they are a family is just so sweet
The way miles calls his adoptive mum mama is just the sweetest and how he sees carter as his brother even tho they are adopted he stills sees him as his family and not forgetting his friend willow and cooper as well.
Id rate the spice in this book 🌶🌶🌶 out of 5 i also would class it as a slow burn as well.

As Long As You'll Have Me was such a sweet, heartfelt romance that blended healing, family, and love so beautifully. This was my first Rebecca Wrights book and definitely won't be my last.
Miles is a firefighter struggling after a traumatic loss on the job, and one of my favorite things about this book was seeing a hero who was actively working through his trauma instead of pretending everything was fine. His journey felt genuine, and I loved watching him slowly open himself up again.
Then there's Hanna—kind, patient, sunshine personified, and exactly what Miles needed. Their connection felt natural from the start, and I loved how their relationship developed beyond the initial attraction. The emotional intimacy between them was just as good as the romance.
One thing that really stood out was the emphasis on healthy communication and emotional growth. The relationship felt mature, supportive, and built on trust, which made it easy to root for them from beginning to end.
And the family dynamics? Absolutely loved them. The found family elements added so much heart to the story and reminded me why those are some of my favorite romance books to read. Everyone showed up for each other when it mattered most, and those moments honestly hit me right in the feelings.
Miles was protective, caring, completely gone for his girl, and had some top-tier book boyfriend moments that made me melt.

This is book #1 of the First Responders series following Miles and Hanna. Miles is a firefighter who lost his fellow fireman in a horrible fire when he could not get to his partner in time. He is struggling with PTSD after this gut wrenching tragedy 💔 When Miles' chief mandates him to see a therapist, he is set up to meet with Hanna, our sweet, sunshine FMC.
Sparks fly pretty immediately between these two and Hanna is determined to keep the relationship professional.. to start... but before long the undeniable connection takes over. I love how Rebecca played out the two breaking up as doctor and patient to be able to discover that connection further! Hanna is Miles' safe space and you can see his quick growth when she comes into his life which warmed my heart 🥰
The love and adoration between them was just beautiful and they were definitely meant for one another; you could feel it all the way through their story. Miles is book boyfriend perfection and I love how sweet he is towards Hanna. There were definitely some spicy moments which may have left me dreaming of firefighters 😅🔥
I loved the found family theme within the story! Miles was a foster child and his family is the true definition of self created family full of love for one another ❤️ Hanna is an only child with 3 parents (2 dads) and the underlying tone of family is what you make it resonated with me so much 🥹 When tragedy strikes, both families come together as one and it was such a beautiful moment that had me in tears! I am secretly hoping we get to see more of Miles foster brother, Carter, as the series goes on 👀

I really struggled with this one.
This is a firefighter × therapist romance, but I never felt that Hanna's role as a therapist was particularly necessary to the story. She honestly could have been a random person Miles met on the street. Other than providing the initial "forbidden romance" element for about the first half of the book, her profession didn't have much impact on the plot. They crossed professional boundaries almost immediately, which took the spotlight away from his healing journey. After that, the only reminders of her career were occasional moments where she'd offer insight and Miles would think it was cute that she was using her therapist brain skills.
The meet-cute also didn't work for me. Miles, a firefighter, is required to attend therapy after experiencing a tragic event, but his sessions with Hanna mostly consist of flirting and trying to convince her to go on a date with him. There was very little discussion of the trauma he experienced, and I didn't see much emotional growth or character development from either lead.
Around the 70–80% mark, the author introduces conflicts involving side characters that suddenly become the main focus of the story. Instead of deepening the relationship between Miles and Hanna, the narrative shifts attention elsewhere, making the ending feel disconnected from the central romance.
Despite my issues with the story, I can see why it will work for other readers. The romance itself is short and easy to read, and Miles is a genuine hero whose affection for Hanna is never in doubt. The found family dynamic adds a bit more to the story as well.

I have been eagerly waiting for this book ever since she asked for help with the title reveal. To say that I have been excited is an understatement!
I want to go explore downtown and see if I can spot any of the landmarks that are in the book.
Miles and Hanna are so opposite of each other that they are just right. I can see the empath that Hanna is and she is the perfect person that can help Miles even when he says he doesn't need help.
This book was something I needed when I didn't know it was exactly what I needed. It was the missing piece that said you needed the message this book delivers and you need to hear it. Rebecca has a way of writing that speaks to you in a way that you don't know you need that touches your soul in a way that gives you a gentle hug that you didn't know you needed. Her characters have cracks and feelings and they are all a little banged up but they all work and they are all the perfect family for each other. This story is the perfect found family story that says find your people, hold them close and let them in because you never know when you will need them.
Hanna and Miles have such a loving and giving heart, that there are so many people around them that benefit from knowing them and bloom from the care they share and nurture in others. It was amazing story and I did not put it down until the last page and then I just sat there in contemplation and wanted to read it again just to feel the love and care that was Hanna and Miles again.

My first book by this author and I appreciate the ARC Rebecca Wrights and House of Hearts.
This book was 3.5 stars for me.
The main characters are Miles, a fireman, and Hanna, a therapist. Both of them have complex family backgrounds with Miles growing up in the foster system only to land with a loving family and Hannah whose own family includes her parents and dad's boyfriend. I was able to get a great sense of both main characters and the author gives readers many opportunities to see them be a great couple which I also appreciated that Hannah has glasses, likes to crochet and thrift which made her feel more relatable.
A few things that made me rate the way I did.
Initially I was turned off on the fact that they had a doctor/patient relationship that crossed the line even though she squashed it fairly quickly, but his PTSD pretty quietly faded out of discussion once he was reassigned to another therapist.
I also am assuming the relationship between his brother Carter and their close family friend/feels like sister Willow will come up in book 2, but not having that addressed at all or her boyfriend felt like a loose end similarly to Hannah's bestie who appears earlier, but disappears after she meets her man Leon.
Lastly, the pacing felt a little slow. Normally I get through books in 2 days but this one took a bit more effort to get through. I couldn't put my finger on what it was but it wasn't as fast of a page turner for me.
Overall, the characters are good and I love a good firefighter series. There's open door spice, real sweet loving family members, and some cute moments.
