When Sophie’s marriage implodes right in front of her, she’s left with no choice but to start over—this time with her infant daughter, Lou, depending on her every move.
Betrayed and hardened, Sophie is determined to rebuild a life for them… even while still tied to the man who chose another woman over his own family.
Then she meets Linc.
Suddenly, the future doesn’t look so bleak.
But new beginnings aren’t easy with a controlling ex-husband and his jealous new wife stirring up trouble.
Linc finds himself fighting for more than love; he’s fighting for a future with Sophie and the little girl who’s already stolen his heart.
For Linc, Sophie isn’t second best. She isn’t a placeholder.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy, and I absolutely loved it! It was such an easy read and kept me hooked the whole way through, which has been rare for me lately.
I loved that the betrayal happened right at the beginning, giving readers the chance to really watch the new relationships develop throughout the story. I'm always a fan of betrayal plots where the people responsible eventually get their comeuppance, and this book definitely delivered. A satisfying and engaging read that I couldn't put down!
This book starts off with a bang! The over heard betrayal is devastating to our fmc Sophie. What she does with the information she overhears sets the stage for the rest of the book. You’ve get laughter, an over the top new yummy H, who’s a firefighter. Sophie’s daughter Lou who will steal your heart. An ex and his mom who won’t just go away. It’s got found family vibes. Spice. Pettiness. All around good times. There’s a drugging w an assault, so check the triggers. Definitely recommend. Honest review given. Arc copy received

This book was amazing!!! I was so happy the Sophie got her HEA and the others got their comeuppance. Too many books I've read have the cheaters getting away with their crap and the rich buying their way out of problems. Not Crystal Nichols books though...she has no patience for that nonsense. Lou...Lou has my heart and stole the book. I need to find me a Linc though

I received an ARC of this book. This book was so satisfying to read. The relationship between Lou and Linc was beautiful. And as with other Crystal Nichols novels I’ve read, the cheaters get their commupance in the most delicious way! I read the whole book in one day. Couldn’t stop myself if I tried.
I loved this story! The connection in this little family is amazing. From the introduction to the end I was hooked. Even on read #3 I still had trouble putting it down. Each of the characters draw you in and want more of them. Little Lou stole my heart ❤️
