Devil's Heart

Rate this book

After Leah’s fiancé dumps her just before the wedding, the shy librarian travels to Scotland alone in a quest for adventure. Getting ripped through time and thrown into the arms of a muscular medieval bad boy, however, is a bit more adventure than she had in mind. But Rathe’s sexual magnetism overcomes her reserve and ignites a fiery passion she has never known.

To Rathe, wives are nothing but trouble. If it weren’t for his lack of a male heir, he’d be content to remain single and tup whatever tasty wench crosses his path. But that all changes when he meets Leah, a quiet, gentle lass with a hidden lusty side who moves him as no other woman ever has.

Leah’s hunger for Rathe duels with her longing to return home, but when a dark figure threatens the people she has come to love, Leah must make a choice. In doing so, she discovers an inner strength she never imagined.

About the author

Laura Glenn

Laura Glenn, pseudonym for the feisty and imaginative, wine- and chocolate-loving romance author, is an unassuming archaeology student during the light of day. When she is not chasing after her two highly intelligent but equally mischievous children or discussing the social and political state of the world with her husband of eleven years, she can be found daydreaming.

These daydreams are the fare from which she spins her tales of love and lust. The seed for such an impish hobby was planted at the tender age of fourteen after she read her first romance novel, much to her mother's horror. Soon thereafter, she began to weave simple romances, quickly jotted down in various notebooks during boring high school classes. Years of stories and fantasies later, she hopes that the pastime she has always enjoyed in secret might now bring others some happiness and a little bit of naughty fun.

Spicy great read!

I'm always a little sceptical when reading time travels. I've read a few good ones and tried to read a lot of bad ones. This one turned out to be a great one! It's not huge on historical facts and those things don't really come into play in the story. If your looking for a some sweet and some spicy, this is the book for you! Definitely a great escape!

Nice

Nice calming read. Liked how shy woman stayed shy but revealed her strength to everyone without losing who she was.

I have read a couple of other stories by this author Only You and Claimed by a Laird
In my ever rotating ebook library, Ms Glenn's books hold a permanent place as do some other authors. I re-read them over and over again when I can't find a new book to read.

I'm always wary of time travel books and the other two she has written are quite entertaining as well as engaging.

Devil's Heart is no different - it tells the story of Leah and Rathe. Two very different people from two very different lives. She reads and is educated...and prized for her knowledge of the future.

I won't go into detail, but if you can get a copy of this for yourself, read it and wish there was a Rathe that lurked somewhere in your everyday life.

Sigh. This one sure was notable. Its incredibly unexpected the way these characters take your heart. I adored the history element, it made the story more emotional, but maybe it also because this is a time travel novel and a smut piece of art so honestly everything is compelling.

I was looking for something similar to Julie McElwain's "Kendra Donovan Series" - a time travel, historical, murder mystery. Although quite different I would comparatively say they are both beautiful pieces of work on opposite ends of the time travel genre.

Absolutely on my shelf of faves.

DNF @ 34%.

I tried to get into this one but it was so boring. Plus, I hate stories where the good girl h decides she needs to break out of her shell and be more sexually adventurous. Why can't the h ever stick to her principles?

I really liked the characters, the heroine was the right amount of adventurous/resourceful and the hero was sweet and dreamy.
Read this book in a day ;)
