"You are so much more than you realize, Genevieve. An absolute force of nature. A beautiful, devastating chaos. And you will change the very fabric of this realm."
Ten years ago, Genevieve’s sister vanished without a trace.
Now her mother is dead—and Genevieve is hearing a voice in her head.
Returning to her hometown was supposed to give her closure. Instead, it drags her into a hidden world of magic, hunted creatures, and a rebellion she never asked to join. Now Genevieve is caught in a conflict she barely understands, stalked by enemies who seem to know more about her and her family than she does, and has an irritatingly charming fae male watching her every move.
As secrets unravel and betrayal closes in, Genevieve must decide who she can trust since every ally, every enemy, every stranger she meets seems to hold a fragment of the truth.
And piecing it together might destroy everything she thought she knew about herself.
“You are so much more than you realize, Genevieve. An absolute force of nature. A beautiful, devastating chaos. And you will change the very fabric of this realm.“
📖 Heir of Gods and Talons by Rose Caruso
I devoured this 🙂↕️ I had was so lucky to beta/ARC read this and I absolutely ate it up.
This story starts out in Genevieve’s home town where she moves back after her mother’s death and her sister’s disappearance.
But her hometown isn’t quite what she thought it was growing up. One thing leads to another and she’s headed into a portal and lands herself into a whole new universe where she is facing a whole new set of problems but is hopeful she can find her sister.
Oh and there is a hot Viking man who likes to provoke Genevieve at any chance he gets 🤭
This was fast paced, full of banter, action packed, has such a fun found family, portal magic, and a sassy bonded dragon 👏🏼
Pleaseeeee add this to your TBR immediately especially if you love Viking lore romantasy 🙂↕️
I had the privilege of being an alpha/beta reader for this book, and OH MY GOD. It is so unique while still managing to capture everything that readers love about the romantasy genre!
The main character, Genevieve, is one of the most lovable (and relatable) FMCs in the fantasy genre. Her POV is always vibrant and entertaining, even in the darker situations she finds herself in.
Heir of Gods and Talons is a portal fantasy, and unlike so many others, where we barely get any time in the "real world", we really get a good look at what Genevieve's normal life looks/looked like before getting thrown into a rich, gritty, and incredible fantasy realm with a whole cast of characters who burrow into your heart and make themselves right at home there.
If you are looking for your next romantasy obsession, look no further! This is not a debut you'll want to miss!
What a crazy journey this book was!! The characters were so expertly written and the world building was impressive and immersive! I love the Norse mythology elements throughout and was just absolutely hooked once I started reading this. A huge thank you to Rose for picking me to be an ARC reader and for sharing this incredible story! That ENDING THOUGH AAAHHHHH! I cannot wait for book 2!
