Allie Donovan knows exactly what she wants. And it has nothing to do with the hot Navy SEAL she picked up in a bar.

Really... it doesn't.

Since graduating from college, she's been juggling two jobs while fostering abandoned dogs, with her sights set on opening a rescue kennel. She'll do whatever it takes to succeed, even if it means fighting back her cravings for the man who's been fueling her fantasies since she got her first taste of him in a hotel elevator.

Former SEAL Logan Sheridan never thought he'd find himself landlocked in the Midwest after separating from the Navy last year. He's always gone where his country needed him. Now he must help his family... while avoiding the pressure to take his place at the helm of his father's multi-billion dollar corporation.

But a chance meeting with Allie might change the direction of his life... or reveal a past he doesn't want to face.

More, Please is a stand-alone novel with no cliffhangers.

I really enjoyed this one. Dual first person POV- Allie then Logan-every other chapter.
I loved the original beginning to this book. Let me just say: Nothing/No one is a sure thing! I was surprised and enjoyed their meeting and the early little twist.
I didn't get mad at Allie, it's her right to change her mind and I loved Logan's attitude about it. This is not really a Navy Seal book, since Logan has been out of the Navy prior to the beginning of the book. This is a spin off from Ms Aster's Special Ops: Homefront series-which I didn't read (yet). I had no trouble following this story. This can definitely stand alone.
Allie is refreshingly different from the usual heroines that are in many contemporary romances lately. There's a big age difference. Allie is 24 and Logan is 32. Allie does have an old soul (people in her town tell her that).
Logan and Allie really do become friends and their relationship development is really good. Allie has been settled in her (late) Dad's hometown: Newton's Creek, Ohio. Logan has just moved back to Newton's Creek after being medically discharged from the Navy. Logan moved home to be with his family and his ailing dad.
Allie is sweet and spunky, but no way is she OTT. She is very real and compassionate. She has a couple of part time jobs and has a very small dog rescue/adoption service on the weekends. For Allie, her dogs come first. Allie and Logan get to know each other through her dog adoption service. She's no push over when it comes to screening the candidates! The supporting characters were good- and they were a great background to the very sweet love story. Allie's friends were very believable. I liked Logan's brother Ryan and his niece, Hannah.
When Logan and Allie had a conflict, there's a great way that they deal with it. I especially like how it wasn't drawn out too long. There wasn't an epilogue. There was an HEA/HFN-- another book to follow? Ryan's book?? I'll read the next book since I liked brother Ryan & niece Hannah in this one. AND I need to know a little more of what happen with Logan and Allie. No ow, no om. Thanks JLC for the recommendation!

Honestly too tired and wiped out to write a decent review for this one. This was a sweet and light read.

Logan and Allie meet and the sparks are instant. However, Allie chickens out last minute and leaves Logan before their hook up can take place. She's never had a one night stand so she decides that this was a mistake and although she definitely felt something for Logan, she doesn't want to regret any rash behavior and decides to forget all about it. Never thinking she would bump into Logan again.

Logan has come back home to help his family, his father has been diagnosed with alzheimer and with his mother, two brothers and little niece, he wants to reconnect and be there for his family as much as he can.

When Logan petitions to adopt a dog, it just so happens that it's being fostered by Allie. After some white lies are cleared up and opting to stay friends, Logan and Allie get to know each other, without the expectations or assumptions of their first meeting. From there this love story is easy, sweet and heated. Nothing really stands out that I disliked, but nothing really stands out to me that I loved either.

Safety: Logan is 32, Allie is 24. No OM/OW drama, no cheating, neither are virgin and ends with a HFN ending. No Epilogue.

This was a really great story. Very well executed. From the richness in the descriptive writing, to the emotion that jumps off the pages as a result. I love the characters. I sympathized with their plights & the surrounding happenings around them. And I fell utterly in love with Logan

Well done Mrs. Aster. Well. Done.

I would certainly recommend this read.

Happy Reading :)

Crazy dog lady falls in love with crazy billionaire war hero. But I guess it could have been worse.

(Can someone explain to me why are there so many billionaires in romance? Why do authors believe it's original?)

Please note this review may contain spoilers.

Logan is an ex-SEAL suffering from PTSD and survivor's guilt, who's come home to Newton's Creek to be closer to his ailing father. He's not sure what he wants to do with his life, but he knows he doesn't want to be involved in his family's hugely successful construction company, JLS Heartland. Allie is a young woman working two jobs to fund her real passion - rescuing abandoned dogs and finding them new homes. Her dream is to open up a home for rescue dogs that will save the lives of more dogs and give them a real chance to find new homes.

I have to say that while I liked both Logan and Allie, I didn't fall in love with them. Allie is a very kind and generous woman, but she has no confidence in herself when it comes to dating and the self-bashing is really in your face for the first half of the book. Logan was ok, but other than helping Allie out with her dream, there's nothing really memorable about him.

I enjoyed reading MORE, PLEASE, but the story itself is rather slow and it took a while for me to really get into it. I almost thought about not finishing it, but I'm glad I did and I was left wanting to read book 2, FULL DISCLOSURE. This is the beginning of a spin-off series and you can tell you're missing something when it comes to Logan and his friends, but it's not enough that you need to go back to the original series. MORE, PLEASE is told in dual POVs and comes with a nice HEA.

3.5 stars. First half very different than the second half. That first half was a little slow, wasn't sure when Logan was gonna make his move, then suddenly he's all in and sexed up. Definitely enjoyed that 2nd half ;-) Thanks to reader friend maggieandteddy for her review that had me 1-clicking. Thanks M&T. =)

Logan is back from the Navy. Forced to settle down in Newton Creek where his family lives and the family business is waiting for him.

Allie moved to Newton Creek because this was where her dad grew up and after his passing she needed to feel close to him.

Allie is a hard worker with a daytime remote job working as an assistant for a nonprofit organization, part time selling adult toys and throwing parties and running her own nonprofit organization for rescued dogs.

Logan met Allie in an unusual setting title both of the and they meet again when Logan is I retested in adopting a dog that needs special care.

Logan turns out to be Allies lifesaver, her dreams are to purchase a kennel and have a building to house more dogs so on her mission to do that Logan is along for the ride.

This is a sweet story of 2 people not sure where their lives are headed but together learn that their future is promising, this dreams can become reality and the place to call home is where the 2 of them are together.

I really enjoyed this book by Kate Aster. I was hooked from the beginning of the story, even though I thought it had a slow start. Logan is sexy as hell, strong, and he comes from wealth as in a billionaire family. However, he wanted more than that, so he joined the Navy and became a SEAL. He ends up going home to Newton Creek due to his dad's health and there he meets Allie.

I liked Allie's character as she's an animal lover (as am I), she's really humorous and very independent. She's employed in the sex industry, but not in the way one might think. lol The night she met Logan, she went back to his hotel room for a one-night stand but quickly excused herself to do something and never returned. She did, however, meet him by chance much later when they grow feelings for each other.

I also loved watching Logan's role as uncle to his little niece Hannah. Somehow seeing men who are good with children always adds bonus points to his likeability!

High 3 stars so I rounded up because I like Kate Aster. Not my favorite in her SEAL series but still enjoyable. I loved the very miniscule glimpse of Joe and Vi because I just loved Joe. That was worth a star right there.

There was definitely passion (and sex) between the H and h but for me something was missing in the translation in their chemistry to me as a reader. Other Kate Aster books I've felt that chemistry (see Joe and Vi) but this one was missing it. Also felt the ending was a little abrupt and I was searching for a few more pages. I wish KA would provide epilogues.

Allie has a heart of gold and especially for abandoned dogs. She helps at a shelter and works hard at finding them new homes. Allie has her dream set on opening her own kennel. Logan is ex-military who comes from a family of money but doesn't flaunt it. He is down to earth and close to his family.

Allie and Logan almost have a one night stand but then meet up again the next day under different circumstances. There is immediate chemistry between the two and great banter.

More, Please is a fun romantic read about two enjoyable characters and I have a soft spot when dogs are part of the journey too.

This was a shocking surprise!

In the beginning when I first picked this up, I was rather skeptical about this. I was nearly set on putting this aside and never picking it up but I absolutely enjoyed this. One thing though is that the title didn’t match this. But all in all, this was a good read and I enjoyed my time reading this.

This is a great first book to the series and it was free woooo.

Allie or Alexandra, is a good character. She is a huge dog lover and devotes her time saving dogs from kill shelters. She also sells sex toys to middle age housewives that throw those sort of parties where a salesperson comes along and you buy from her. Allie also works for a non profit educating people on being a vegan. All in all she is a sweet girl. She meets Logan when she tries unsuccessfully to have a one night stand with him. She chickens out runs away and then of course fate or rather our author throws them back together when he wants to adopt one of the dogs she is fostering.

Logan Sheridan AKA Jake (he goes by Logan) is a seal vet that has quit the military so he can help his family out. He meets Allie and can't decide if shes a little loopy or he likes her. She ends up living with him in townhouses he is doing up. Logan allegedly suffers from PTSD but I don't see much evidence of it. I think he has one nightmare, he doesn't freak out Allie by having one major incident. He just sort of tells her he has it and that is sort of it.

Logan is a nice guy, he helps her out buys her a truck so she doesn't have to fit all these dogs in her small beetle. I thought his family was good too, I'm looking forward to the single parent romance that is brewing of his brother who is CEO of the family company and I'm thinking it will be Allie's friend Kim but I'll wait and see and see if I can afford it!!!

A heartwarming story that drags you in...

I borrowed this book through Kindle Unlimited because the blurb caught my interest. I'm glad I did. The hero, Logan, is a strong, sexy alpha male (of course) who happens to be part of a wealthy family but he doesn't flaunt that connection. He left that Midwestern family and ready made position in the family business to join the U.S. Navy, becoming a SEAL Lt. Commander. His last mission caused an injury that led to his leaving active duty but it's his father's health crisis which brings him home to Ohio. Allie, our heroine, has moved back to Newton Creek, Ohio to be closer to her memories of her beloved father and her childhood there. Being the daughter of a veterinarian instilled a love for animals in Allie and her dream is to open her own non-profit rescue kennel. She's independent, resourceful, quirky, and funny which I applaud. Ne of her "jobs" is organizing and holding private parties for women to peruse the latest in sex toys and intimate accessories! She also is an assistant for another non-profit business that she handles online for the owner. When these two meet it begins a journey of healing for both while also falling in love. If you're in the mood for some steamy sex, sweet romance, sad tears, and joyous endings then I recommend this book.

I have been anxiously awaiting this book since it became available for pre-order, and it did not let me down! I love Kate Aster's Special Ops: Homefront series and was thrilled to learn that there would be a companion novel.

We met Logan briefly in Maeve's story, and he has now left the SEALs and returned home to the Midwest. He meets Allie in a hotel bar, and the two begin talking. Allie nearly returns to Logan's hotel room with him but chickens out at the last minute. When their paths cross again the next day, it is clear that they were never meant for a one night stand..but something much more.

I just adored this book! Allie is hard working and wise beyond her years, and Logan has a heart of gold despite his jaded outlook on life. Their relationship was realistic and endearing. I loved that we got to catch up with Maeve and see Bess's wedding! I loved the secondary characters and hope they each get their own stories! I would love to see a book focused on Ryan (Hannah is just so cute!) and it seems like Allie's two friends Cass and Kim also have stories to tell. An excellent read, and I will be impatiently waiting for more from this author!

I liked this book, but I didn't love it. I recognise that I am out of step with other readers here (who clearly love it) and I am a fan of Kate Aster and her writing style and stories. I enjoyed this book and I liked the characters - not just Logan and Allie but the subsidiary people too, her friends and his family. Perhaps strangely I liked that Logan's reason for being there had turned out to be more or less spurious, or at least he was left feeling purposeless. Allie is a caring animal lover and for me a bit too good to be to be true. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this book but it had no real moments that wowed and it felt a bit too formulaic and unoriginal. The tension never really existed and although the sex scenes were hot and story progressed there wasn't anything to surprise and no real emotional tug. It was however a light easy read and a no less engaging for that. If you like a straightforward romance with a sexy hero and a lovely and worthy but likeable heroine this is a good read.

Only Kate Aster book I didn't like

I have read around 10 books by this author, and always enjoy them. Until now.

Partly it's the trope: I don't like the billionaire-swoops-in-to-save-the-day trope.
Partly it's the blurb, which had nothing to do with the actual story.
Partly it's the.... unusual method of treating a panic attack. Most people just breathe, but whatever.
And partly because of the complete 180 of Logan in the last chapters of the book.
.

All of those together left me with a flat feeling at the end.

On the plus side, Allie is really funny in the beginning, and her friends are awesome.

Standalone. 1st person dual pov. No violence. Steamy.

FANTASTIC 10 stars!!!

Can't get enough! I loved every page, every chapter of this story! So creative, full of fun, laughter, terrific romance & steamy passion! I'm hoping to get more from the characters of this book- could be a fabulous series (all the brothers & friends) just too perfect to not continue! I've enjoyed every book in the Special Ops Series & truly have been enlightened by the military romance & writing style! FANTASTIC AMAZING HEART LIFTING TRUE ROMANCE NOVELS!

Sweet

And tender. Loved how the author wove her story about hope, dreams and overcoming fears.
As a non military person living with the PTSD, I liked how it was related in the story. Not easy to do.

This was an okay read with a few problems. Firstly, let me say that the book description is a bit misleading. Allie does pick up Logan in a bar...but doesn't go through with it, saying she's lost her phone after kissing him in the elevator on the way up to his hotel room. She then pikes. And how it goes on about his secrets? This really wasn't a big part of the books as such as it wasn't anything clandestine - he had PTSD. This is one of those books that tries to fit in a lot. He's a war hero/SEAL, all-round, amazingly gorgeous guy who flips houses in his down time and, of course, is a billionaire as his family runs a construction company. Why authors feel the need to inflate their heroes to the point of ridiculousness, I don't know. And then there's the billionaire line. There always is. Allie was a kind, down on her luck, mostly innocent chick who worked for a vegan not-for-profit, sold sex toys at night and established her own charity to rescue dogs from the local kill shelter. Do you see what I mean? She moves back to the small town where her dad grew up so she could feel close to him after he passed and her mother quickly remarried. Of course, this one horse town is the home to the massive, international empire that is the Sheridans.

After their non-event at the hotel, Allie and Logan run into each other the next day as he's trying to adopt a special needs dog. Allie is a bit curt to him because she thinks he gave her a line the night before by lying about being a SEAL just to get into her pants. Allie has a dream to buy a local kennel that's been foreclosed. She up and sells her condo and makes an offer, basically pinning everything on getting it. She plans to stay on a friend's couch and Logan offers her use of the house next door to his that he's recently bought and renovated. Honestly, this was really strange considering they'd only just met. From there, they build a relationship.

As you can probably tell, the book is a bit over the top in making the characters fit a lot of cliches. There's nothing ground breaking in the story, but it was still an easy enough read that I didn't mind it for the most part. Logan is 32 and Allie is 24 and this brought up a lot as Logan has a problem with the age difference, making out as though she's far too young and innocent for him and won't be able to handle his PTSD (which, of course, amazingly settles when he's with her). The book has a bit of repetition - Logan going on about the age difference, Allie thinking she's only average in the looks department, how hot Logan is, him leaving Allie and their small town in the future, how big and bad Logan was as a SEAL, his dangerous missions facing enemies, etc. There's the constant allusion to Logan not being willing to go back to San Diego but we don't know why. I won't spoil it here, but it's pretty much a non-event and if you've read military books previously, you'll figure it out straight away. Allie tries to let him know that she's there for him. She drove three hours to spend the night in his hotel room (purely platonic) so that he could have noise (she's a terrible snorer to the point he can hear her through his wall at the townhouse) and have a decent night's sleep. If that doesn't spell commitment, as well as crazy stalker, I don't know what does.

There's a couple of typos. Nothing too dramatic. The sex scenes were pretty cliche and the dirty talk from Logan is not how people talk so sounded a bit silly at times. Oh, and a special shout out to the author for managing to smuggle in the line, "...the hum of modern technology in my v$g would only depress me at this point". I actually laughed out loud at that.

Overall, it was okay but I won't be continuing with the series. It was predictable and a bit over the top, but a sweet romance none the less.
