Since there was not a new woman to join the harem, I can only assume that this is the authors idea of what Hexie looks like. I enjoyed this book. This one seemed more down to earth than the others. There is not some monumental catastrophe about to happen, yet that doesn't make what is happening any more dangerous. We are starting to see a more domesticated life for MC. Having a harem of 7 wives is stretching. I heard somewhere never have more wives than there are days in the week. So, they have outgrown the dorms and decide to buy a house. They buy this abandoned, but well-maintained house outside of town in the woods. There they discover that the previous own was a professor at the university and was working on a top-secret project that could have major implications for all countries. I would like to see a little bit more domestication with some of the wives getting pregnant and how they will all handle children.
This entry feels like a filler episode as it is mainly establishing where things are at in the world building but the plot has most definitely thickened and there are implications that may turn this into a full blown oh shit moment of epic proportions. Still praying for the sweet snek to be charmed but for now all I say is I want more.
I've read many books by both authors and this series is the best thing they have done by far. I'm looking forward to the next book. So get this series and you will not be disappointed.
This book according to me is not needed at all. Nothing happens in this book. I am giving 3 stars for the LIs rather than the MC or the author. This could have been simply a section of a book nothing more but that didn't happen unfortunately.
Great characters and a very shadowy background give a very ongoing spooky vibe about what terrible things some of their countrymen are willing to do. Bring on Book 6.
