Started with the oooey gooey sweetness that I always EAT UP but then just seemed to lose momentum halfway through. Felt like the story was basically already told but just kept going.
Also during one scene, why did we need lube in an omegaverse when he's drenched in slick??

whyyyyy ai?
I’ve kind of been worried that Lexie Slater was writing AI, partly because she has zero social media presence but also because of the way her books read. I was always on the fence…until this book. There were editing errors but the way the sentences read “he was there. Not loud. Just quiet.” Are so quintessentially ai that there’s no denying it anymore. There was also no real flow and the story was bumbling. I’m bummed but honestly not surprised anymore.

I wanted to like this. And give the author benefit of doubt about this being AI. But this book confirmed it. There were multiple inconsistencies. One sentence the facet was off and literally two sentences later it was on still. This happened twice within 4-5 paragraphs. And then one MMC had flour on his face to several paragraphs late the mention of flour being on the other MMC’s face instead. And just the way some of the sentences were structured. It might not be AI written but instead AI revised? I don’t know, I could be wrong.

As a person who shamefully dabbled in AI fiction when I was woefully ignorant about its harms, it's very clear to me that this book uses AI (That or Lexie Slater is just really awful at writing and her team doesn't know how to do their job).
Other comments say the same, but I want to add another because I genuinely believe this to be true. There are certain ways sentences are phrased that give it away as well as the many inconsistencies in the book other people have mentioned.
This is so disappointing because it's lazy. I remember reading AI and constantly getting so frustrated about its inconsistencies. Did nobody review or edit this book? Were there no beta readers? How could anyone let all these inconsistencies slide?
I only gave it 2 stars because I did enjoy the erotica in it and Milo and Callum were hella adorable. It's a shame that they couldn't get a real, authentic story.
I'm sad because I didn't notice these issues in Swipe My Alpha. I don't know if I missed them or not, but in this book they were so blatantly obvious that they stood out.

2.5 ⭐️ This was not great. It started great… and then once they were together it kind of fell apart. The details in the story, for me, stopped making sense.
Callum ❤️ Milo
Callum and Milo have known each other for a few years. Callum is the brother of Milo’s best friend, Ava. They’ve each been pining for the other but never said anything. Milo, tired of pining over Callum, posts a profile on a dating app and Callum recognizes him and swipes right. So they’re texting - Callum knows it’s Milo but Milo doesn’t know it’s Callum.
While this is going on, they realize they are fated mates one night in Ava’s apartment. Callum confesses to the dating app whatnot and even though they’re crazy about each other (and mated), they hide their relationship from their friends, for reasons I don’t understand, for 2 weeks. 🤷🏻♀️
Milo is an affable and people pleasing person, but this is seen as a weakness and so the second half of the story is him supposedly feeling empowered and refusing to apologize and/or being dominant in bed. It just felt sort of thrown together without enough of Milo’s history to understand it. Also, there’s absolutely nothing wrong w saying you’re sorry when you’re wrong. It’s not a weakness. Some of the examples worked, but other times he was - in fact - wrong. 🙄. Like, I get the point, author, but do it better.

Yes, we saw the nesting, but I love to have them describe the feelings and all the new intuition of being bonded… and there was none of that.☹️ Like they could have been any two guys who fell in love. Boo hiss.
And my other, other pet peeve is that there were little details that were inconsistent. The author would describe how they were situated and I couldn’t picture it or the picture didn’t make sense . For example - “I was leaning w my back against his chest and he kissed my throat”. Huh? Your throat is in the front - you mean he kissed the back of your neck? Anyhoo, this isn’t a real example, but you get the drift. It took me out of the story bc I was trying to picture their contortionist arms and legs. 🦵
Oh well. I was disappointed.

💛 Worth the Wait
I somehow loved this one even more than the first.
One of my favorite things about this series is that Lexie Slater keeps the five omegas together. It never feels like the previous couple disappears once their story is over. Better yet, each of the five has such a distinct personality that they genuinely feel like a real friend group. Every time one of them showed up, it just made me more excited for the books to come.
This one is definitely slower than Swipe My Alpha. Because the opening hooked me so quickly, I found myself pretty unforgiving whenever the pace dipped. Thankfully, almost every slower moment ended up paying off. My only real criticism is that one conflict in the second half lingered a little longer than I wanted.
I absolutely adored Milo and Callum. There was just enough shared history between them to make their connection feel immediate, and I spent most of the book screaming, kicking my feet, and hopelessly rooting for them. The sweetness between them completely won me over.
The intimate scenes once again had me holding my breath, but what stayed with me even more was how emotionally close they felt. Their relationship had so much warmth and vulnerability that every romantic moment landed.
By the time I reached the last page, I was completely sold on this couple.
I immediately downloaded book three because I wasn't ready to leave this world yet. That's probably the highest compliment I can give a series.

Ended before I could DNF. Nothing really happens in this book. They get together and the book ends. Could be good erotica if that’s what you’re looking for but the characters aren’t developed or particularly interesting. Doesn’t really explore the omegaverse plot in any real way.
The anonymous dating plot line is so unnecessary and honestly a waste of time. Nothing that happens matters or impact anything.

Like the 1st book in this series, this meets my Omegaverse needs.
Its a no-angst, sweet love story. There's no evil ex, 3rd-act break-up etc., just an alpha & omega who have massive crushes on each other & get their HEA. That's pretty much it, and you know what? After reading so many terrible Omegaverse books that have no heats, no ruts, or only concerned with mpreg as soon as the couple has sex, I don't care that this is a simple love story. I enjoyed it and that's all that matters.

it was ok
It could have been better. Needed editing. Situations were not lining up. Like the author tried to pick up where they left off without reading what was currently wrote. Some of it wasn’t making sense. Anywho i feel like the first book was a lot better. Definitely more engaging. This one was kinda boring compared to that one. Definitely room for improvement.

June 26, 2026It started out okay, but after they got together, nothing else happened—just sex, over and over again, and unnecessary drama about the sister being upset that they were together. They told her after two weeks! Also, Milo has been friends with her since he started college, so for a year or two—what was the big deal? They were fated mates.
