Erosion has a unique and interesting setup: A mix of urban fantasy, sci-fi, and murder mystery, combined with a secondary world. What's not to love about that?
Absolutely adored the characters, especially Ṛith̥ucaṛide - they're the sweetest. Who doesn't love enby faeries? Pherul's just a silly little goose, and it was quite fascinating seeing him become a tad more confident.
What I most loved about Erosion is how two different cultures are trying to understand each other, including no translation for some seemingly mundane things - it was beautifully done! So was the worldbuilding, especially of the faerie world and uber-city, as well as the lore about magic and how the uber-city came to be.
There's many mysteries still to unveil, and I'll happily read the next book in the series - I need to find out more! Especially after that end!
