A Story about hard work and accomplishment that takes you along for the ride. The first thing to note about this beautiful book is the competency of the writing. It’s easy to read and is written in such a way that the pages almost turn themselves.
I loved the premise of a group of young people taking on a crumbling and derelict house in their neighborhood to renovate. We go through the process with the kids from the first sweep of dust and rubble revealing the underlying potential to the completion of the initial project.
It’s a story about what people can achieve when they work as a team. It’s a lesson to never underestimate the power and enthusiasm of the young, and it’s the joy of watching a house materialise,, and bonds form, from a wreck.
The story is interspersed with bible teachings and lessons that can’t do any of us any harm wherever our religious leanings lie.

Great book to read with your teen!
I read Cornerstone with my child, and it gave us meaningful conversations about faith, leadership, character, and making good choices. I appreciated how the book showed that teens can lead through kindness, courage, service, and integrity right where they are.
As a parent, I found it encouraging, positive, and easy to discuss together. This is a great read for families, youth groups, Christian schools, and homeschool families.
