I had been DYING for this book. I have been OBSESSED with this series since book one.
And this love triangle truly has me conflicted. The previous books had me switching teams more often than I change clothes!
This latest book still had me uncertain of who I’d like Gemma to be with. I think I’m still on Team Parker, but he’s also pissing me off a bit with his actions in this one! And I know we still have two more books before we find out. But I am here for the ride!
At the end of Book 2, I started to truly hate Alejandro. His actions while feigning to be in the best interest of Gemma are just straight-up controlling and selfish. But then again, Parker isn’t doing much better. He’s also doing a lot of things in the shadows, and I’m not fully convinced its for Gemma’s benefit or just Parker.
And then Gemma, my girl, what is wrong with you?! Honestly, she was the most aggravating in this one. She was really getting on my nerves with her actions. So many of our issues could have been solved if she would just talk to someone. ANYONE. I do understand she’s going through a lot, and she’s been through a lot. We get a glimpse into her dark past in this one. And I really want to see her healed and happy and taken care of at the end of all this. But girl, she is not making the smartest decisions! UGH!
So we have two morally grey love interests and a self-destructing FMC. And I have absolutely NO IDEA where this is going to go with two more books. But I’m obsessed and here for all of it. I need to know what’s going to happen next. Especially after that ending! You’re killing me, Vivian!

Review of Advanced Readers Copy from Author
Losing sleep for a book is nothing new to me but this book had me on the edge from the beginning!
It was all calm and sweet, then plot twist and there is a third POV. Never did I think something like that could work so well in a book but damn! this was a good book.
Absolutely loved reading this and cannot wait to hear if there will be another one. It keeps getting better and better.
This is a must add to your TBR!

ARC Review: Dark and Dismissed by Vivian Mae

I absolutely devoured this book. I read it in one day. It was so freaking good! The story was amazing. There's a lot of back story which really shapes the characters in my opinion and that always sets a book apart from others. That cliffhanger at the end 😮💨 I am not happy about it but I totally can't wait until the next book comes out.
Alejandro (MMC) literally gave me bad vibes from the start. The more I read the more I was team Parker. How could you not be? Alejandro is a great character though he's very well written and he gives the story A LOT of drama. He does a lot of questionable things in the name of love and jealousy. At the end he had me intrigued and I can't wait to read more.
Gemma (FMC) was literally making me so mad!!!! The way she played with Parker had me pissed because he's the golden retriever of all golden retrievers. He is so sweet to her and never pushes her for anything! Even when he definitely should. She was lowkey playing games and I was not having it. But then she distinguished her head from her behind and she really flourished. She has a lot of deep and intricate layers that we still haven't seen yet and I can't wait to see whats in store for her in the next book.
Parker (MMC) sweet Parks. I absolutely LOVED him. He is the perfect childhood best friend turned lover. He is also very protective and dominant in a way that was very refreshing. He wasn't aggressively macho but you could still feel that he was all man and the yearning this man did "decades long" yearning is down right madness. I need me a Parker Ellis Jones because damn! He is apart of the little cliffhanger that miss Vivian Mae gave us and I want to know if he is okay!!!! I need to know!
The spicy scenes were well worth the wait with the touches & kisses as build up to literal fireworks! Very well done. I am indeed a Vivian Mae fan!

Where do I even begin?
If a book series needs a show, it’s this one. Someone get on this ASAP! It’s got everything, drama, spice, emotion filled confessions, and it will give you whiplash.
Oh. My. God. This exceeded every expectation I had. And no, don’t ask me who’s team I’m on anymore because right now I’m just team Gemma. Poor girl cannot catch a flipping break.
In book 1, I was all for Alejandro. In book 2, it was Parker. Book 3, just Gemma. Give her a moment of peace please boys! Although let’s be for real, Parker in this one? Unhinged. 🥵 and damn I didn’t expect some of the things he said and did, but definitely swayed my opinions just a bit.
The drama in this one is absolutely immaculate. I couldn’t put it down. I craved for what was next and what would happen. My jaw and the floor became best friends at one point because I just couldn’t believe what I was reading.

Alejandro thinks that Gemma is his and acts as though she is connected to the hip. The amount of time he thought she would come RUNNING when he snapped his fingers had me rolling my eyes and pissing me off. Like the dude can’t take a hint or give her a legitimate reason to pick him other than sending flowers and saying “I’ll coming back for you.” All I’m gonna say is if he wanted to he would.
Camilla ABSOLUTELY PISSED ME OFF the entirety of this book. Digging into Gemma and finding out a lot of her family secrets. All because she’s mad that Parker kissed her. Yes I get it, he cheated on you. But you’ve already helped ruin Gemma’s reputation with the articles!
Then don’t get me started on Parker helping Claire. Then Alejandro visiting Claire. Gemma getting angry every time Claire is mentioned. You would think they would get a hint that SHE WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH CLAIRE. AND getting to see younger Gemma and understand why she is like this absolutely broke my heart!
Finally, that ending???? What???? So many words to say but I won’t continue with the spoilers. Just know I need book 4 like I need oxygen!

I absolutely devoured this book. One day. That’s it.
This book had a little bit of everything. Family secrets, complicated characters, jealousy, drama, childhood friends-to-lovers, and enough emotional chaos to keep me turning pages way past my bedtime. The backstory was especially good because it added so many layers to the characters and helped explain why they are the way they are.
Now let’s talk about these characters…
Parker — My golden retriever. 🥹 He is the ultimate childhood best friend turned lover, and the decades-long yearning??? Ugh. I need a Parker in my life immediately. He’s protective and dominant without the unnecessary big dick energy, and I absolutely ate it up. The way he loves Gemma had me swooning.
Alejandro — Sir, please take several steps back and away from my girl because she has been traumatized enough. In the beginning, I was really trying to give him a shot, but the more I read, the more I found myself permanently on Team Parker. Alejandro is undeniably well-written and brings SO much drama to the story, but the jealousy and questionable decisions had me rolling my eyes. That said… by the end, he had me intrigued, and now I NEED to know what happens next.
Gemma — GIRL. You tested my patience. The way she played with Parker had me wanting to slap her because THIS MAN WILL LITERALLY DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. But once she finally started putting the pieces together, I really began to appreciate how layered she is. Her past, her family secrets, and everything we learn about younger Gemma broke my heart and made so much of her character click into place.
I’m not even talking about Camilla because I hate her. She’s dead to me.
And then… THAT. ENDING.

Holy crap this series just keeps getting better and better. The drama intensifies, the jealousy, the tension! And the spice! There are so many secrets and lies between Parker and Gemma as they are trying to make their new relationship work. And while he may seem the safer option, I don’t know if I see it working long term.
Alejandro may have an explosive anger management issue when it comes to anyone hurting Gemma, but he’s been more honest to her from the start. Actually I think they’ve both been more honest which each other than with anyone else - even while still holding on to their other secrets.
Some questions were answered about Gemma’s past and her trauma. But that just left more secrets and betrayals to be had between everyone! The last few chapters had me reeling in secrets that were exposed by everyone. And when ALL the secrets come to light? I still think it will be Gemma and Alejandro left standing.
This book - this whole series- draws you in IMMEDIATELY. And it does not let you go. Two more books until the end and I can NOT wait for them to come out so I can devour them and find out who Gemma chooses, what happens with Claire, with Miguel. Do Tommy and Dana ever get together?

This series has me in knots! I swear at some point in time
I have both loved and hated Gemma, Parker, and Alejandro in equal measure. I can most definitely say there has NOT been a time I have liked Camilla, she can kick rocks.
I am obsessed with this love triangle because it’s twisty, emotional, and deeply layered. Each person brings their own baggage, feelings, and secrets to the table. I feel like you never truly know what’s going to happen next, which I love and dislike at the same time but that’s what makes it so freaking addicting. Sometimes it seems that Parker is the obvious choice, but Gemma’s heart and mind are torn. Alejandro is the typical bad boy(?), man really and he is unhinged in sometimes the best way. Parker is loyal, protective, and devoted to Gemma. I have been obsessed with his yearning.. this man. This beautiful man made a promise that altered his whole future and Gemma’s too, now he’s here to rectify that ASAP and in any way possible.
I can’t wait to see what happens next! So many thoughts racing through my mind at the ending… respectfully WTF.

More Angst, More Questions, More Reasons to Read
This series really knows how to keep me emotionally invested, and Dark and Dismissed brought plenty of drama, tension, and messy feelings. Gemma’s situation is basically a giant emotional tornado, and somehow I was still sitting there like “well, I need to know what happens next” while judging everyone’s choices a little bit.
The love triangle energy is strong, with all the complicated history, chemistry, and questionable decisions that come with it. Parker continues to be a sweet spot in the chaos, but this book definitely keeps things interesting with the push and pull between characters. The angst is turned up, the emotions are high, and there were plenty of moments where I wanted to shake someone and then immediately keep reading.
I’m invested in Gemma’s journey and this series has me curious about where everything is heading. It’s dramatic, addictive, and full of the kind of relationship messiness that makes you say “oh no” while also refusing to put the book down.

and I cannot get enough of it. This series has me in a chokehold! I’m SO invested in how the fate of these characters will end up.
In this book, Parker fights harder than ever to prove to Gemma just how much he loves her. He doesn’t keep quiet anymore. Alejandro keeps his promise that he made in the last book, and shows back up to steal Gemma away from New York.
Gemma FINALLY stops second guessing her feelings for Parker, but of course in true Alejandro fashion, he pops up to ruin the moment for her and Parker. He’s like a thorn in Gemma’s side (rose reference 🤭) that she can’t seem to completely block out because they both share a darkness within themselves.
The banter: 5 stars.

Chegou o tão esperado terceiro livro da série Mine To Keep!!
Adorei rever estas personagens incríveis e ver o triângulo amoroso resolvido! Achei que algumas partes entre o casal foram algo constrangedoras, mas, de forma geral, acho que a escolha da Gema foi a certa.
O livro tem muitos contratempos, mentiras e as personagens evitam os temas sensíveis que deveriam discutir ums com os outros; às vezes só temos mesmo vontade de os fazer acordar para a vida.
Adorei todo o mistério entre o Miguel e até em torno da Claire. O livro acaba num momento perfeito para nos deixar a implorar pelo próximo volume!

Finished reading Dark and Dismissed and Whoa!
Book 3 left me with lots of thoughts & lots of I need to know more!
As much as I like Parker & Gemma together I'm still holding on to some hope for Alejandro.
Also, I want more on what happened with Claire?
And I need more about what went down in Mexico!!
The cliffhanger! But honestly, that was the best cliffhanger yet - it was like a double cliffhanger & I'm not even mad about it.

No spoilers but I cannot wait to see what happens next.

OMG Vivian….. we need to talk about that ending ma’am!!! Anyways I loved this book and I think it is my favorite so far. Gemma is getting what she has wanted but at what cost. What secrets are they holding back and who is this mystery man. I need book 4 now… 😋

This was an awesome read. I loved this storyline and the characters. This was intense with twists and turns that kept me turning the pages. Obsession and tension, chaos. This really had me devouring this. Absolutely loved it and can’t wait for the next one.

I finished this one with a very specific problem: I have opinions. 😂
Gemma really pulled me into the emotional mess of this story. What I liked most about her was that she never felt like she was simply waiting for someone else to decide her future. Even when everything around her was complicated, there was still a sense of her underneath it all.
And then there’s the whole Parker vs. Alejandro situation.
I’m not going to pretend I was neutral. 😂
Parker had the kind of presence that made me want to root for him, especially because there’s something particularly satisfying about a relationship that carries years of history and genuine affection underneath it.
But Alejandro?
That man made me want to throw my Kindle across the room.
Which, honestly, is a compliment to the writing because I clearly had strong feelings about him.
What really worked for me was the angsty atmosphere. This isn't a fluffy romance where everything falls neatly into place. The emotional tension is heavy, and there were definitely moments where I felt like I needed to take a breath before continuing.
I also liked the fashion-world backdrop. It gave the story a glamorous surface while everything underneath it was considerably darker and messier.
This is the third book in a continuing series, so definitely don't pick this one up expecting a standalone. The ongoing story made me even more invested because there are clearly bigger things still unfolding.
And yes, that cliffhanger?
Rude. Absolutely rude. 😂
But after getting this emotionally invested, you already know I'm going to need the next book.
Angst, complicated relationships, high emotions, and one seriously problematic man who had me yelling at the page.
I am invested. 🖤🔥

4.5 Rounded Up.
This is the 3rd book in the Mine to Keep Series. I was obsessed with the first book and read it twice and the second time it was still a 5 star read for me. We are now into the 3rd book and after book 2, I was all on board for team Parker so I was excited that this 3rd book featured him for most of the story. Although, I'm a little scared for what will happen to him in the next two books to finish out the series!
The author can write tension, chemistry and banter so well. I enjoyed this one and read it in a day - breaking my reading slump. I am so nervous what will happen in book 4 but can't wait for its release!
I definitely recommend this series to any romance lovers, especially if you love a little spice, love triangle and some "good girl" lines.

This book has everything - obsession, love triangle, spice and a great background to the characters! Vivian is a new author to me but what a book to start off with. I now need to read the first two books in the series.
The FMC - Gemma has been hurt by Alejandro and has been harassed by the media. But then Parker reappears in Gemma's life and starts to heal Gemma. However Alejandra wants Gemma and will do anything to get her back in his life.
What will happen? You need to run from this book.....don't walk!!

Absolutely loved this book! This entire series just lives in my mind and I cannot wait for the last two books to complete this series. Vivian includes everything in her books; there's drama, tension, slow burn. It's just perfection. Definitely five stars for me.
