t never ceases to amaze me, when reading Ruby Scott’s books, how much research she must put into them.
Not only did she draw 32 women at ‘ that’ moment, she also asked her followers on social media to name them and give a brief background for each, then took inspiration from those prompts and created eight completely different, believable, and wonderful short stories for this volume which is impressive.
I imagine for this series of books it would be even harder to achieve with the shorter length and so many completely different characters, making them sound as plausible as possible, with occupations or hobbies described so well that you feel you understand just by reading these stories. Not to mention each story is taking place in locations and settings around the world, described so clearly, you can picture them vividly and see yourself there with the characters.
Also, the heat in this book is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Well… that was a thoroughly indecent little masterpiece! 🔥
Ruby Scott’s ‘O’ series just ripped up the rule book on erotic shorts - you heard it here first!
Yes, this book gives us eight incredible women and eight beautifully intimate moments, but reducing it to just erotica feels wildly unfair. This was an experience for me. It was immersive, sensual, and unexpectedly artful in a way that completely caught me off guard.
The fact that Ruby not only penned these stories but sketched the characters too - outrageous talent! It added such a unique layer of intimacy, as though I was being invited even further into her imagination.
And the range? Glorious. Different settings, different dynamics, different continents and tropes! I literally devoured every page of this book.
If you enjoy erotica with substance, style, and enough heat to ruin your evening plans… buckle up. This ride is fire! 🔥

These stories have absolutely everything: scorching heat, heart, and the whole panorama of desire distilled into a single moment. Eight different women, eight unique stories, all connected by the one thing every woman fears and craves: losing yourself to desire, only to find yourself when you finally let go. There's so much depth to these stories. I love how you're dropped straight into their worlds, yet it feels like you've always been there. This was such a unique project, crafting stories inspired by original drawings, and the results were beyond anything I imagined. I cannot wait for the other volumes.

Take some beautiful drawings of women’s faces at the most intimate of moments, the artists request to put names and back stories to these faces, the response from readers who took on the responsibility of this in earnest, and what is the result? Ruby Scott has taken her drawings and those ideas and turned them into something exquisite, magnificent, and breathtaking and with the simplest and most perfect book title ever 🥰
The O Collection - Volume One is, well, just brilliant! Each story is so evocative, passionate, moving and even thought provoking, and let’s face it, we all want to visit Hera’s art installation now,😂🥵and that is one intensely clever piece of writing.
Waiting for the following volumes is going to be unbearable 🖤

O would be the perfect first read for someone who has yet to experience Ruby’s talent like I have for many years. I can’t recommend this book enough.

They all have one thing in common: they are hot and find themselves in irresistible situations.
They give in and experience the things they’ve dreamed of and longed for.
A fantastic collection of steamy stories that are simply a joy to read.
I’m not usually a big fan of collections and short stories, but I’ll pretty much read anything Ruby Scott writes—because it’s brilliant, unexpected, and incredibly hot. I love it all!

I love this short stories collection, each one is different but also very well written, steamy hot and addictive! It is a celebration of female sexuality, sapphic romance and each story features strong confident women who take life on the horn and enjoy the moment!

O: Volume One: Erotic Lesbian Short Stories by Ruby Scott has a genuinely lovely origin. Scott spent a year sketching ink portraits of women — thirty-four in total — each caught in some private, unguarded moment. Rather than let them stay just drawings, she turned to her readers and asked them to name each woman and imagine who she was before the pen ever touched paper. O: Volume One is the result of that experiment: the first eight of those portraits, paired with the stories that grew out of them. It's planned as four volumes total (you've got two available on Everand now, with two more on the way), so this is really the opening act of a much bigger gallery.
For me, the illustrations didn't really shape how I read the stories — I went in expecting they might, but the writing carried itself just fine on its own. Still, it's a clever way to build a collection, and I can appreciate the novelty of starting from a drawing instead of the usual character notes.
As with any single-author anthology, the risk is that eight stories start to blur together, but Scott varies the settings and dynamics enough that each one stands on its own. Story four, featuring Bailey, was my least favorite of the bunch — not a knock on the writing, just a personal thing, since food play isn't my kink and it's central to that one. But the collection ends on a high note: the final story, with Valentina, was easily my favorite. Strap-on-heavy, confidently written, and it stuck with me after I closed the book.
Choreographing sex scenes well is genuinely hard — one wrong beat and the reader gets yanked right out of the moment — and Scott handles it about as well as I've come to expect from her. With two more volumes still to come, I'm curious to see whether the later portraits push her into territory she hasn't tried yet.

One book, eight different characters, each with their own fleeting moment where abandoned desire takes over, and every story is just as perfect as the last. This is so much more than an erotic novel; it’s a masterpiece of writing, and the original illustrations by Ruby Scott add a wickedly personal touch. I paid attention to the instructions… and I can safely say I would never read this in public! I can’t wait for Volume 2.

original and very well written. I highly recommend it wholeheartedly! I want a whole book for all the stories, loved all the characters and settings. Ruby Scott is a wordsmith of the highest degree.

Every story in this first volume of O is a beauty of their own. Every story has something in it what gives you nice feelings. The drawings, the inspiration. Very Very Good.

It’s taken me a while to get my thoughts down for O, not because I didn’t enjoy it, but mostly because I’m still fanning myself down after two back to back reads! 😅 This one is scorching hot! 🔥
I fell in love with the women of O when they were first released as drawings. I even have them hanging on my wall and bought the O mug!
I then followed along on the FB page as readers named them. So to see these characters come to life and read their stories was just so much fun! 🤩
Each woman, each story, is packed with heat and emotion. A collection of short stories, snippets of their lives, that leave you feeling like you know them intimately.
I loved Volume 1 and can’t wait to see what Ruby does with Volume 2! Such a brilliant book. 🫶🏻
