I've wormed my way into Jeremy's heart, just as I promised myself I would.

But whereas before, I wanted to be there to strike at him... now, I'm not so sure.

My life is still defined by secrets. Secrets that I can never tell another living soul.

Fey and Robin want to be let in. They want to know what is happening to me.

I have to say no. I have to say push them away because only Jeremy can come on this journey with me. He is always there. He is my only constant. Our lives are irrevocably intertwined.

He won't let go.

I crave peace. But I want it to be real, not just the calm before the storm.

Can I get there with Jeremy Stonehart?

It's a long shot, but right now... I'm willing to try.

Afraid to say I'm giving this 1 star. I was so close to just completely giving up half way through. I just can't even deal.

I wanted to scream.. its ridiculous.
Jeremy has done barely anything nice to Lilly, literally. Yet she is a complete bitch to her friends who are trying to help her, and just repeats the same crap over and over. Jeremy completely mind fucks Lilly, he constantly lies to her, he just has nothing going for him. THEEEEEN, completely out the blue she has this 'moment' where she realises she has fallen head over heels for him and apparently Loves him! Ugh. Has she forgotten what he done?!
In other books the male will usually have redeeming qualities and do something to make us like them again... Jeremy? Nope! Nothing. Complete asshole. I just don't get it. We didn't learn much, its the 8th book now.. starting to drag on and on. Jeremy blocks calls to Lillys phone etc, shes angry for like one minute then as soon as she sees him, or he touches her she just lets everything go. One word - DOORMAT. Im blabbering on myself but it's one of those books that kinda make you angry...!
Completely let down the series for me.

I am not carrying the series on, and to be frank, i wish i hadnt read this far into it. Train wreck.

Like a few of the reviews honestly I about gave up on the story about half way. For me its was the same ole same old filler crap from the last book. Of how Lilly loves Jeremy, how she has to protect her relationship and defend him from her best friend. It was the same, boring in the early chapters. How can Lilly forget?
 photo Uncovering you.gif
He had her tied to a pillar, if she set foot out of bound her shock collar would trigger. The asshole raped her numerous times while she was in and out of consciousness, not to mention the beatings. And Jeremy can say with a straight face full of passion how much he loves her?
Then there is Lilly! I once admired her, hell even respected the woman for foolishly seeking someway of getting revenge. But not anymore, the woman is too stupid to live! I'm not even sure if she merits reading the next story. Like Lilly says, she doesn't suffer from Stockholm Syndrome...She Luuuuuuuuuuves him, along with every other woman who choose to say in cheating abusive relationship. Cue me throwing up! I understand this is a dark romance novel, and somewhere along the lines we're suppose to see the couple falling in love, but when has Jeremy shown anything but lies, deceit? He's never shown an ounce of remorse worthy of forgiveness. Then you pile on the newest, how are we the readers suppose to believe Lilly has any health problems much less brain damage caused by the shocker, what proof other than her fainting do we have? None, not from a doctor, a hospital or clinic just the psycho word of a monster. As Uncovering You prepares to closes I hope it has more substances, more answers, more of a plot, then what we've read in the last two installments. Very very disappointing.

READ ON KU.

I'm reading the entire series. Mixed feelings. At first, it feels like a read for beginners in Dark Romance, but as it continues, it's a bit more darker just for the sake of being dark (I feel).

Won't rate this!

Okay, let me expain this (sad) 2-stars-rating.

Say what you want, but we all crave some darkness.
I've been following the Uncovering You series for I while now, and I've been enjoying it, too. It started with a "really liked it" because it just had it all - the suspence, the mystery, the shocks, the wtfs.
It had it all.
I liked Lilly. She was, despite everything, a strong character, a woman to be admired, after all.

Yeah, I know!, it's all a "bit" unrealistic, but we are talking about fiction, so let's just fiction it, guys! Go with it! Let it slide! It (technically) makes for a good story.

The thing is, in my opinion, this all has to come to an end. Scarlett, you have milked the cow to the last drop, let's wrap it up already. It has all become quite repetitive, Lilly has considerably downgraded - Kidnapping, Stockholm-Syndrom-that-is-not-Stockholm-Syndrom-it's-Luuuuuv! I just want to slap her around the head, like, all.the.time - and, frankly, it has become annoying (but it's wrong! oh no, it's right!, I love you!, I don't want to love you, I cannot forgive you - I hate you I love you - GIRL! GET THE F**K OUTTA THERE!).
As it is, that's why it has been just okay. It's time to let it go!

Yeah, that's how annoying it has become. Lilly's inconspicuous thoughts are everywhere EVERYWHERE!

I know I am not telling you particulary much (nothing at all, in fact) about the plot, but if you have read Uncovering you so far, know that it's not much different from the last 2-3 installments - as it is, there's not much uncovering going on. After a while, the title should be changed into Confusing you, reader.
It's like you are re-reading the same pages over and over again, just with some slight variation. *heavy sigh*/*eye rolling*

I hope for a swift and "wowing" conclusion, - I really do! - because I am a masochist and will read the following installment(s) - please, let them be no more than 3! - despite everything.

I just want this to end.

Answers That Only Breed More Questions

This eighth book in the Uncovering You series adds more layers of mystery to an already confounding story. So many questions were answered. Yet, I feel like I know less than I did to begin with. Jeremy Stonehart continues to be an enigma.

Lilly seems to be coming to terms with her conflicting feelings for Jeremy. Finally acknowledging that she's fallen in love with him, she's given him the access to her mind that he set out to gain. Whether or not he will continue to manipulate and toy with Lilly's emotions, remains to be seen.

So much happened in this serial that I'm still trying to piece it all together. This series continues to play with my head. I am hoping that Jeremy and Lilly will begin a more normal relationship, now that they've cleared the air somewhat. Whether or not Lilly can put aside her need for revenge is still uncertain as well. I will be patiently awaiting the next serial installment to see where their journey leads and hopefully unveil the answers to the questions that continue to linger.

Lots more secrets are revealed in this one. Lilly thinks she has the upper hand on Jeremy but her two friends turn up. They try to make Lilly see sense but she has her own agenda to take down Stonehart or so she thinks!!
Those of us that have stuck in there with this series will be trying to work out every puzzling detail. It's like Scarlett is playing psychological games with us and we the readers are sucked right into the drama. Two more books and we finally get the conclusion. I'm just hoping it's going to blow my socks off. Roll on February when Uncovering You 9 is released.

I'm not sure what to make of this installment. Ms. Edwards has woven an intricate tale of captivity, secrets, betrayal, manipulation, and has twisted and corrupted my damn brain! I love Jeremy. The only thing really missing is his pov but I guess that would defeat the purpose of the story. All of these secrets, lies and devious machinations would be revealed all too quickly.

I want to know what is going on with his father and what he wants from Lilly. What was in the second envelope?

Also, Jeremy informs her that she was in a coma for weeks. And that she has brain damage. But her reaction wasn't realistic at all! I'm not a fan of Lilly. I think that has been established and this book did her absolutely no favours. Especially with her behaviour towards her friends.

Ah well, on to book 9 and more Jeremy.

Quick easy read. Lends a few more quirks to the building story. Jeremy hides so much from Lilly and we still haven't found out much more than we already knew before.

2 more books to go. And I can't wait. Love the writing style, the charter development is decent, and the intrigue is awesome. Love the dark side of the romance genre. This is definitely a dark story though this book doesn't have quite the dark that a few of the others did.

Scarlett keep up the darkness. We like this side and you write it well.

Wow, this series is getting worse and worse and this book is my last favorite I feel I over rated it at one star. Jumped the shark, crapped the bed, call it what you want.

I still think my referencing this serious to the Friday the 13th movie franchise is perfect.... great opening couple then eh! ones then the I've lost my way and lost my direction.

I'm usually not a basher but feel milked by the ending of this series... anyone else agree??? or is it just me???

Again Jeremy gets off so lightly for everything he's done and still doing to Lilly!

I don't understand what the point in turning her friends against her and isolating herself is 🤔

She's getting on my nerves but I'm determined to see the series through and get answers!

I should start by stating that the cover looks absolutely awful to me. I loathe it. Maybe even more than the book. And that is saying something since I hated the book a lot.
I have decided to just review this part by asking questions and hoping to God the author decides to answer them because heaven knows this book was, by far, the most confusing part of this series. Unfortunately, it was also bland ....and boring..and everything a UC novel should not be.
Why does Lilly not call out Stonehart on all the ways he has abused her and simply starts to claim to love him?
Why does she convince herself, so stupidly, that she should avenge her father on her own and pushes away fey and Robin? Was it because it was easier to subject us to 30% worth of useless shit involving Fey being suspicious which ends with Lilly being an absolute bitch to everyone other than the man who abused because he claims he loves her than actually have a point for introducing Fey and Robin into the story?
Why does the author hate Yale University so much? Did she have an awful experience at an Ivy League University? Or does the author not realize the fact that she is showing too much hatred towards a university simply for demanding hard work from its students? Why would she make her character blame Yale? Doesn't she know every fucking degree requires diligent work?
Lilly comes off as an exceptionally stupid woman in the parts after UC 5 but even then Stonehart and the author want us to believe she is super smart. Let me explain why she is not the least bit smart:
1) She actually tries to justify her abusive relationship by blaming Yale university for making her work hard and not "enjoy her life"
2) She never tries to seek out her birth father
3) She constantly trusts Stonehart then starts to cry and protest every time he shows his true colors
4) She never makes the connection between Hugh and Stonehart
5) She actually believes Stonehart when he says she never met Hugh
6) She doesn't hate Stonehart for not believing that she met Hugh
7) She leads Fey and Robin to Boston then says she shouldn't have and starts agreeing with Stonehart
8) She doesn't admonish Stonehart for blocking her cell's calls and even says she "gets" him
9) She had excellent memory in UC 1 when she was able to recognize Hugh as a board member even though she had only briefly seen in for like a minute in UC 1 but then she starts acting irrationally by trusting the wrong people, blubbering too much and dealing in a childish yet bitchy manner with Fey and Robin
10) Robin seems to have bigger brains than her considering how he was the main source of information for Lilly
11) Lilly has a panic attack when she realizes she "loves" Stonehart and honestly, by that time I absolutely loathed this book since she didn't feel panicked at the right moments, e.g when Stonehart abused her.
These 11 are the only ones I can type right now but there are so many more to convince me Lilly isn't smart. Actually, she is starting to seem stupider than the normal person. I don't know what the author is thinking making lilly look so fragile and stupid.
Oh and I think I knocked off a star solely for the fact that Lilly sticks her fucking tongue out at Stonehart like a 5 year old and that is the main reason why she ain't smart at all. She's dumb af, as far as I am concerned.

4.0 Stars!!!

I LOVE it and I HATE it. Amazing but that is how Lilly feels about Jeremy....she loves him and yet.....

Part of me is wondering when this Merry-go-round is going to stop....I watch the horse go up and down, up and down, round and round. Does Lilly have it all figured out? or is she dead wrong? And why does Jeremy keep things so tied up in side, hidden? Does he really love her? Or is it a game?

In this installment Lilly pushes back her friends who think she is living with a monster.....she alienates herself to the point that she is alone on an island. In the book she describes what she has done is swim to the island even though ships have passed offering assistance....she has ignored it and continued toward her island where she is alone in the world with Jeremy. We also see Lilly as she passes out and wakes up in a hospital and we are treated to a big shocker as to why this happened.

I start these installments and am entranced immediately by the author's writing style. I think that has kept me coming back more than the story itself and of course curiosity as to what is really going on here. How will it end? Grrrrr. Hurry up and finish already. I feel as though I am planted in front of the window watching spring thaw out the ice and snow of winter drip by drip.

You would think by the 8th installment I would have learned to expect the unexpected. Well I DID NOT!! I was not prepared for the "relationship" between Jeremy and Hugh, the residual effects of the collar on Lily (if it is true), or the freakin...........TWIN BROTHER!! WTF, talk about a complete mind fuck. My head is probably spinning more than Lily's at this point. What I was prepared for were the feelings Lily finally shared with Jeremy. I hoped they would evolve in to love but I don't think she had a choice at this point. I hate that she took the final step to remove Fey from her life completely but I don't think that friendship could have went on much longer given the truth of why Lily was targeted and the budding love she feels for JS. I still want to take a hot poker to his genitals. There is no redemption for Jeremy in my eyes but I'm not Lily and therefore don't have to deal with his mood swings and multiple personalities. I have to honestly say, I am ready for this series to come to an end. I've enjoyed reading the push and pull between these two but a conclusion is needed. Will we see an HEA, I guess that would depend on how one defines "happy".

Damn this books sucked! Even the author said so so I won't wast my time writing about it...that much....

I found myself skipping a lot in this book...those inner thoughts of Lily..GOd so boring and unnecessary...I mean yeah as the reader you get that she is torn about Jeremy and she feels everything and nothing and she doesn't know much and what she does know she can't be sure if it's the truth....

This is the 8th installment in this series. this novella isnt as juicy as the beginning books. But it was still goo none the less. Very informative. Lilly shows how far she would go to protect Jeremy. She shows how much she feels for him by lying to her bff. Lilly also realizes that she loves Jeremy. Good read.

Jeremy wants her mind, and he will get it!

That’s what he said to her in the beginning. I believe within this installment he’s almost achieved it. It’s not necessarily her love and affection that he needs. But her complete and total devotion, her total mental state trained on him; now that will get him the loyalty, protection, and performance that he requires. She will never divulge what he’s done to her to anyone. She will never want to leave him and will turn all naysayers away. In this one her best friend is very concerned about her. So she gets her reporter fiancé to do some digging. They discovered that Jeremy is an evil man on an revenge hunt. Jeremy holds her father responsible for his mother’s drug addiction and death so he takes action and ruins her life? Is that a good enough reason for all of this? I believe that he will drive the poor woman insane by the end. How can you forgive someone taking you captive and hurting you until you submit? There is not enough forgiveness in this world to make a woman forget her pain, to force her to love a man who rapes her, starves her, and shocks her. The collar he put on her neck at the start has given her brain damage and she suffers blackouts. While out on vacation and swimming she almost drowned which exacerbated this damage. She suffers panic attacks now. Jeremy has hurt her so much that it’s affected her health. Is any love worth dying for?
At least for all her struggles she finds out more about her captor. It’s confirmed who Jeremy’s father is and that he has a twin brother who runs a mental health facility. The father and mother are the only questions for me. I want to know if his mom is really dead; and if so who is Rose? And why was his father such a harsh and evil man to him as a child? Both Rose and Hugh were in on the kidnapping. They both knew she was being held against her will. Oh and his real name is Blackthorn, why change it? Yes I know his father was extremely abusing in all ways to the mother and to Jeremy as a child. We also find out that as a young child Jeremy has learning disabilities. He is the only one of the kids to be affected. The two older brothers are fine and treated well by the father. But why change your identity? What else has the indomitable Jeremy Stonehart been subjected to? In my mind this series is more about Jeremy Stonehart and his past. There isn’t much passion or romance in this story. It’s more about his power and obsession than anything else. Kudos to the author for thinking outside of the box 📦

Anyone that follows my Goodreads may be thinking, “if she keeps giving this series 2 stars why does she keep freaking reading them?”

I’ll tell you why:
1. They were highly recommended by a coworker
2. I’ve already wasted this much time reading them, might as well finish
3. I guess I’m a glutton for punishment

But really.... these are terrible books. Every time the author has a great opportunity to insert a good twist, she inserts a stupid/predictable one and every time my reaction is “that’s it??????” EVERY TIME. I literally read 6 books to find out why this doofus took the main character captive. Luckily each book is only like 75 pages so 6 books maybe equals 2 books. I was really tempted to not include these books in my Goodreads because I’m embarrassed I read them but I did so I felt obligated to include —-although I did delete the first 3 books off my “read” list because the covers are naughty and I didn’t want that one my feed LOL.

Ok done rambling. I’m going to go finish this series and laugh at myself for all the time I wasted... and probably tell my coworker not to recommend any more books to me hahaha

More secrets and more lies.

I am totally blown away by this series. There is passion, abuse, love, cruelty and so many dark secrets, but you have to keep reading.

Lily managed to get rid of Fey and Robin, by orchestrating a fierce blowup between her and Fey. They may never speak again.

But that's the least of Lily's worries.
Hugh knocks on her hotel room door, without Jeremy's permission. This isn't going to go well.

Jeremy and Lily talk, but something triggers a panic attack and for Lily, everything goes black.

She wakes up in hospital and Jeremy is there, but it's not him. Is it? No. Another secret, another lie. It's his twin.

The accident she had on the desert island caused brain damage, but that was only the residual effect, there is only one thing that could have caused that much permanent damage...

The Collar.

It's okay

Lilly is the least likeable and sympathetic victim I've ever read. She is supposedly extremely smart and mature but I have yet to see this play out. You spend the majority of the book in her head while she talks in circles and misses the most obvious things. She throws a fit any time someone tries to tell her the information she is supposedly seeking. Her reasoning makes no sense. She comes off as needy and a good digger. I honestly feel bad for Jeremy in the story at this point. And he is obviously psychotic but that's how unlikable Lilly is.

Starting to get disappointed

Don't get me wrong this series is well written and has held my interest, until now. Started to feel like the build up was never going to end! Really liked Lilly at first thought she was going to be strong but that went South. Don't know if it will be a waste of time to finish the series. I don't want to be mad at the ending being lame cause she falls in love with the man who damaged her brain.

This series is so long and drawn out. I got to book 8 and just couldn't take it anymore. Throughout the series nothing and no one is as it seems...there are so many twists and turns, Secrets and lies It gives me a headache. Jeremy Stoneheart is some kind of bipolar sadistic psycho...and not in an endearing way. Lily is a complete idiot. Felt sorry for her at first but after awhile she's stupid.
Had enough.
Two stars because it had its good points, unfortunately the bad outweighs it.

OK...now this series is just getting stupid. She has been kidnapped, electrocuted, starved, raped, used as guinea pig, and deceived; not to mention what he had done and admitted to doing to her parents...and she still LOVES him.... WHAT THE F**K! She has an opportunity to leave him...but the she doesn't because she wants revenge... just stupid. I am done reading this mess.

What started off as a fantastic series has now turned into a joke, the story is all over the place, I’m so confused with these characters and the books are just getting worse and worse BUT I’m not going to give up! 2 more books to go then I can see if they redeem themselves at all and finally put an end to this series!

Carino.
