A native of Chicago, I earned a BA in History and Russian Area Studies and a Master of Urban Planning degree from the University of Illinois. (Go Illini!) I’ve been active in politics (I had the stupidity to run and the misfortune to win a -year seat on a County Board of Supervisors) (more hard time than you’d get for armed robbery, car theft, or embezzlement in most states!) and active in numerous civic organizations. I served in the US Army and was a company commander and drug counselor. (The only two places in the country that teach leadership and organizational management are the Boy Scouts and the Army) When I’m not writing, I like to play golf (usually poorly) paint landscapes in oil or acrylics and running 5Ks. (slower every year) .
My wife and I have traveled extensively in Germany, Russia, the Caribbean, England, Ireland, Scotland, Poland, Switzerland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Italy, Mexico, Austria, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Egypt, and Israel.

The usual entertaining novel I’ve come to expect from William F. Brown.

Florida author William F. Brown has penned suspense novels, published in many languages, and award-winning screenplays. His specialty is thriller stories that step into the arena of espionage – a very popular topic at this particular time. William is a native of Chicago, received undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Illinois, and served as a Company Commander in the US Army. He then traveled widely in the US and abroad as a Vice President of the real estate subsidiary of a Fortune 500 corporation. William is also a landscape artist.
BURKE’S TRAP is Book 11 of the Bob Burke Action Adventure series, and as we have come to expect, Brown opens the tale with zest that sets a mood: ‘The ambush came hard and fast. One moment we were cresting a low ridgeline in the endless Iraqi wasteland, and the next, ten white Toyota pickup trucks erupted from a wadi on our left and another eight from behind rocks on our right. They were “Technicals” as bad guys around the world loved to call them. They had caught us in a scissor formation – textbook stuff – and we had driven straight into it.’
Brown condenses the plot well: ‘They came for him on a quiet Tuesday morning. Four FBI Suburbans, a Hostage Rescue Team in full tactical gear, and FBI agents with a federal arrest warrant charging retired Delta Force operator Bob Burke with selling classified weapons technology to the Russians. When searching for insurgents that have been harassing the Al-Asad US base in Iraq, this
action-packed story starts with Burke and Randall ambushed by a large number of insurgents in armed Toyota pickup trucks – Technicals as they’re called. With the ambushers is a Russian advisor, a Major Illia Nikitin who teases Burke to the point of anger, and returns later in the story when Burke and Randall have retired. After retirement with brief action in a rescue mission to Georgia assisting their old Russian friend, Igor Zaitsev, rescue his son Evgeni, Nikitin appears again. Then the Merry Men have a quiet time until one morning at Sherwood Forest, their family home is descended on by the FBI and an obnoxious individual who is there to arrest Burke on trumped up charges created by who has become his nemesis – Illia Nikitin. Burke departs on a motor cycle, and the Geeks start a counter attack on Nikitin which leads in to an exciting series of events creating even further enjoyment for the reader.
Don’t miss this story – you will enjoy the twists and turns and involvement of other characters from the past of the Burke adventures.

Bob Burke is the kind of guy who makes life long friends, friends he would do anything for. The flip side is that he also makes enemies, enemies who would hunt him to the far ends of the earth. This story shows just how true both statements are.
The enemy shows up multiple times. He knows Bob, he thinks he knows what Bob can do - but does he really? Bob is willing to help friends on a moment's notice. When you have his connections you can make it happen, and make it happen now! Bob knows how to apply force and with great effect, however against an enemy of equal skill will it be enough? What if the eneby could bring the full force of the government down on Bob? How do you escape that? Only by having plans A, B and C, and friends. You went to the ends of the earth for them, they will do the same for you.
This is classic Bob Burke with all the action you expect, but delivered in a very personal fashion. Those who love action heroes will not be disppointed.

Do you like action thrillers with the action never ending? Well, this book is for you.
While fighting in the service, he comes across a Russian agent directing the enemy. Burke is successful, but he made an enemy who won't forget Burke.
Fast forward to the present time, and the agent is still after Burke. Burke finally realizes who is after him and sets about doing his own trap.
Action is non-stop, and I couldn't stop reading the book. This is a 5-star book. The author, Willian Brown, did a wonderful job creating Burke's Trap.
While fighting in the service, he comes across a Russian agent directing the enemy. Burke is successful, but he made an enemy who won't forget Burke.
Fast forward to the present time, and the agent is still after Burke. Burke finally realizes who is after him and sets about doing his own trap.
Action is non-stop, and I couldn't stop reading the book. This is a 5-star book. The author, Willian Brown, did a wonderful job creating Burke's Trap.

The Ghost and the Geeks are at it again
Once again the Ghost is helping out a friend and it comes back to bite him. This time it's Ellie and the Geeks that save the day. Another great story in the Bob Burke Universe. Can't wait for the next book!!!
