“Married in Marietta, can I help you?”

This was an adult contemporary romance about a woman who owned a bridal shop.

I felt quite sorry for Lisa in this story, the past she had with regards to her two sisters was really not good, and it was so sad that she had basically lost them both.

The storyline in this revolved around a celebrity wedding that Lisa was planning, and some bridesmaids dresses she really wasn’t happy with, as well as the romance storyline. I didn’t really feel like there was that much romance in this book, and this was a fairly clean romance with only behind closed doors sex.

The ending to this was very fairytale-esque, and I’m guessing that they lived happily ever after.

3 - "Don't jump to conclusions." Stars.

The Fairy Tale Bride is the first book I have read by this author, it is also the first book in a brand series of novellas set in Marietta, Montana. I have spent quite a bit of time in this town and with it’s inhabitants whilst reading other series that Tule Publishing have released in the past, and it is always good to return for a catch up!

Lisa and Adam’s relationship is one built on secrets, the towns Wedding officiando and owner of Married in Marietta getting together with the hospitals newest and most eligible Doctor causes a few tongues to wag. Both of them are keeping things from their past under wraps, and you know as the story progresses it is going to be a bit of an issue as they become closer as a couple.

”I don’t have much luck with sisters.”

I liked this first novella, I didn’t love it. Adam was sweet but a little weak willed and Lisa, although I understood her issues, I still found her a little judgmental. But it is a quick, easy, predictably cute read, and well worth a couple of hours visiting Marietta and it’s residents again.

”Every girl should get her fairy tale.”

A new series of novellas by Tule Publishing have me revisiting Marietta after the the Bachelor Auction this time around it is for Montana Born Brides.

The Fairy Tale Bride is Lisa and Adam's story. Lisa owns the bridal salon Married in Marietta and there is a big celebrity wedding coming to town that could put her salon on the map. Adam is the new Doctor in town who likes the quiet life of Marietta. They start seeing each other around town and go on a few dates but they are both keeping secrets from each other. What will happen when the secrets are revealed?

This was a fun sweet read Lisa and Adam are likeable not the strongest chemistry but I am looking forward to the rest in this series.

3.5 Found in a Small Town Stars * * * 1/2

When normal, everyday people get hit by the lottery, it is not uncommon for long lost relatives to come out from the woodwork. Add the element of handsome Washington DC doctor, and Adam Brady couldn't catch a break.

He knew he was lucky because the winnings paid off his huge education debt and loans which so many doctors carry for decades after they start practicing. He counted his blessings; knew to appreciate the good.
What he didn't expect or prepare for was the deceit, game playing and out and out attitudes of people wanting to be around him for all the wrong reasons. He found it impossible to be at the hospital without reporters butting in, women throwing themselves at him and strangers asking for things because they felt they could.

He was fortunate to have the ability to pick up and leave DC, move to Marietta, Montana. Here he became the ER doctor; nothing more or nothing less. Here he was able to work in all departments assisting where it was needed. Here he didn't have to talk or share about anything. He could keep a low profile, make friends because they liked him and not his winnings... Here he could just be himself.

It was during an on call shift for a fellow Doctor he saw a young woman all in black reading to a little girl. She had a big Fairy Tale book and was saying the words softly so the little child in the big hospital bed would sink peacefully into slumber. The sound of her voice was lilting... and the manner very caring and personable. Adam was curious and was able to say hello after the child fell asleep.

The woman was a Lisa, Marietta native with all the roots and history of most who grew up there. She was from a family of loving parents and two younger sisters. She had to learn an early lesson....that life was fleeting and illness doesn't play favorites. Her younger sister Grace had leukemia so she and her sister Melody would be at the hospital all the time with the parents. They lost Grace but the understanding of how important it was to have people who cared around to read, nurture or just listen while there in the hospital stayed. It became something she continued to this day.

Lisa had her own secrets; no one new what pain and distrust she carried. Oh, they knew she had been engaged but the story was they broke up and he moved away. Only her very best friend knew of the truth; the betrayal of her sister cheating with her fiance and her discover with them in action...No, Marietta knew Lisa as the pretty gal who had the Bridal Salon. The place to go when you wanted to feel special and cared for...and that was all she wanted them to know.

This is a start of a new series, Montana Born Brides. This is light fare with sweet, flirtatious moments and charm. The setting is in Marietta...a place where small town rules are kept and the community can either be in your business or looking out for ya.

This time the circumstances or hub is this famous celebrity wedding. Hometown girl becomes huge Hollywood star. She brings reporters, other TV stars and creates a dynamic for more stories to come. The bridesmaids are horrors...the groom is an egotistical star with a wandering eye and hands....I can just think of all kinds of tales which can use these characters.

Tule Publishing has done this before with past themes and authors. The tying them to a central place like Marietta gives us the perfect base to build off of. If you are looking for a charming quick read...this is the way to go... for what romance reader doesn't believe in fairy tales....

THE FAIRY TALE BRIDE is a novella and the first in the Montana born Bride series of connecting stories by different authors that are set around the upcoming wedding of a local girl turned celebrity.

Being a novella the author Scarlet Wilson doesn’t have a lot of time to expand on the characters and develop a lot of background, But Scarlet managed to deal with the constraints very well. Being set in a small town in Montana where everyone knows everyone else’s business adds to the story because background information is given to the reader by gossiping locals. Lisa Renee owns the Marietta bridal salon. Her aim is to find the perfect dresses and accessories for brides and their attendants. Now a local girl made big in Hollywood is coming home to have her wedding away from the big smoke. With her comes two spoiled petulant Hollywood starlets who have rejected every bridesmaids dress in every store in the big city. Can Lisa Renee find the perfect frocks for these two before she kills them, or the bride does!!!

When she is not making brides happy Lisa Renee is up in the local hospital’s paediatric ward volunteering with the sick children. Her sister Grace died of Leukaemia and she realised the importance of having someone not medical around to read, listen or just hold a hand and care. Lisa Renee is giving back to the hospital what she received. She is reading a fairy story to a child with cancer when Dr Adam Brady first spies her. Adam is new to Marietta, he recently had a huge lottery win but after paying his out his huge education debt and loans he is not rolling in money. That doesn’t stop people from being friends with him just to get their hands on the loot. He hopes no one will recognise him and so learn to like him for who he is rather than what they can get out of him. Lisa has a kind heart despite tragedies in her near past, Adam is devoted to saving lives and helping people despite the money. Of course they’re going to fall in love. Trouble is if they don’t start to confide in each other things could go pear-shaped.

Its very size means that THE FAIRY TALE BRIDE is a fast read – that it is charming and funny with a little bit of drama as well is the icing on the wedding cake.

With thanks to Tule Publishing and the author via Netgalley for my copy to read and review.

C+ at AAR, so 3.25 stars? Maybe 3.5? I'll admit it. I can be a little shallow when I'm picking my books. That was totally the case with The Fairy Tale Bride. I decided I liked the title, and next thing I knew, I had it loaded on my Kindle. So, how was it? Well, if you like small-town romance, you'll probably enjoy this at least a little. And if you don't? Well, this isn't going to be the story that converts you.

This short novel is first in a series about the wedding fever that has hit Marietta, Montana. A local girl who grew up to become a movie star has returned home to Marietta because she wants to get married in her hometown and use local businesses for her wedding. First up? Bridesmaids' dresses from the local bridal salon owned by Lisa Renee. The selection of gowns for the wedding is something of a show in itself, and along the way, Lisa herself finds romance with local doctor Adam Brady.

There are definitely some things that work in this book. First of all, the town itself stood out for me. I tend to have a love-hate relationship with small town romance because so many of the settings are just too cutesy and cloying for me to handle. I wouldn't call Marietta "edgy" by any stretch of the imagination, but it does come off as being sweet without feeling overly saccharine. Folks know and look out for each other(and gossip a bit), but they do have individual lives that don't involve spending all their time up in each other's business. I had some issues with the main romance in this book, but I'd definitely be up for a return trip to Montana's little Wedding Central.

Everything in this one happens quick (from meeting to sex to engagement all within what seems like a few days). A few things that are brought up with side characters and story lines are not resolved at the end. Still an enjoyable quick read.

Content: mild language, one fade to black scene sex (after disrobing).

A sweet, fluffy read that made me smile throughout with its cuteness.

Bridal shop owner Lisa Renee is devoted to bring smiles to the people that surround her. Be it through her dedication to find the perfect dresses for her clients or via her volunteer work at the town’s general hospital.

When ex-resident turned big Hollywood star Nancy, decides to get married in her home town she’s taking her bridesmaids straight to Lisa. But Lisa’s new misbehaving clients are threatening to break her patience and hopes to put her shop on the map.

Dr. Adam Brady has escaped big city life and embraced the quaint town of Marietta. The people are welcoming and local hospital gives him the flexibility he loves in the different areas of medicine. But since meeting “Luscious Lisa,” he can’t stop thinking about her.

There’s only one problem, he wants to avoid the media surrounding her shop and the town at all costs because he’s hiding the secret that made him wary of people and leave Washington. But Lisa has her own secrets. Will they be able to confide in one another?

I really like Lisa’s big, giving heart as much as Adam’s selflessness and devotion to helping people. So it was really nice to see how these two delightful characters met and fell in love.
“You did get a little close. Gotta be careful of that in a place like Marietta… People might talk.”
He moved a tiny bit closer… “What would they say?”
Her voice lowered. “Just that some newbie hot-shot doc was getting fresh with a local girl.”

Their story is fast and light, that can be read in a single sitting. With both flirty and touching moment. I enjoyed the charming feel of the small town and its friendly yet nosy residents.

“The Fairy Tale Bride” by Scarlet Wilson in the first book in the Montana Born Brides. Told from both points of view. Can be read as standalone. I recommend it to any romance lover looking for a cute and light read and I hope to find more books like these for when I’m in the mood to cozy up with a bright lighthearted read.

3.5 light and fluffy stars

The Fairy Tale Bride is a nice start to Tule Publishing’s Montana Born Brides Series and Scarlet Wilson has brought her reader a short sweet romance set in the wonderful town that is Marietta.

“In place as small as Marietta they’d probably have him engaged and married before he even left the hospital tomorrow morning.”

Bridal-shop owner, Lisa and new-in-town doctor, Adam were likeable characters but I must admit everything between them was pushed along at quite quickly and the romance seemed to play second fiddle a little to the continuity storyline of Marietta’s upcoming celebrity wedding. But the romance was sweet (this one has closed-door intimacy), it brought some emotion and lovely touching moments between our couple.

And with five more prospective brides needing to find themselves a groom, it’s onto book 2 for me.

Maybe I'm too hard on books. But this is my honest opinion, this book is fluff. If you are looking for fluffy, feel good nothing, this is book for you. The big problem of the book doesn't really seem like a problem. I don't think this book was set up to help you care about the characters. It's all done too fast and the last part when he declares his love, I just didn't care enough about either of them to be excited about this turn.

It felt like if a stranger walked up to be on the street and said,
"Hey! I've know you for 20 seconds, isn't it great that I just got engaged?"

What would you feel?

"That's good for you, but I really don't care. Have a good life."

That's exactly how I feel about this book.

I downloaded this from Book Bub for free. It was generally a good story, but some things I just didn't like. Lisa goes from being strong and forward toward Adam to being insecure and weepy. She flips so many times, she ends up having no distinct personality. They have two dates and after each Adam ends up apologizing about something to win her back. After two weeks and two real dates, he proposes. Again, the idea the author had was good, but it became so unbelievable it was hard to stay engaged in the book. The book is extremely short, and can be read quickly. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend. Poor grammar and misspelled words throughout the book drove me nuts!

I’ve made no secret that I download a lot of e-books when they’re on special or free. Especially when they’re free. I have found some amazing stories and authors this way. Sometimes things don’t pan out how I hope. Regardless, it’s a great way to experience new-to-me authors without a huge cash flow. My records show I obtained this book back in 2016 as a free download. Recently, when looking through some of the books I have from my go-to authors that I still haven’t been read, I noticed this is the first of a multi-author series that includes some of my favorite authors. So here we are.

This is a pretty short story, not much more than 100 pages. I always try to give some concessions to authors when they have such a small word count to work with. I expect there to be extreme inta-love and to miss out on any in-depth back story on the characters. I won’t compromise on chemistry and warm-fuzzies, though!

While I liked this story from the start, it never really hooked me. Both Lisa and Adam are extremely likable characters. Not just by the reader, but the whole town seems to like them both. When they first meet, I even feel some rumblings of their chemistry. Somewhere along the way that got lost for me. I still rooted for them to get together. That had more to do with the early chemistry, not the relationship they developed after getting intimate. It just didn’t flow properly.

I said I forgive extreme insta-love in short stories, but not when it’s not important to the story. I can wholeheartedly believe this couple fell in love. Yet, the way the story ends seems contrived and unnecessary at the time. Throw in the fact that there are some inconsistencies with little inconsequential things and I was a bit underwhelmed. I don’t know that I’ll seek out more of this author’s work, but I may give her a try again if I come across something that seems interesting.

Another sweetly emotional and heartfelt tale from Scarlet Wilson that will tug at your heartstrings.

Lisa is a bridal shop owner in the small Montana town of Marietta and Adam is the new doc at the local hospital. Both have been burnt in the past and have secrets that ensure their journey to love is far from smooth... While Lisa guards her heart it is obvious she has so much to give the right man. And Adam could be that man, but he struggles to trust and trust for Lisa is the most important thing.

The framing story - two bridemaid-zillas (if there is such a thing) finding their outfits for the celebrity wedding that is due to take place in Marietta - provides a little light relief, but it's Adam and Lisa's story that will keep you turning the pages. They are both such good people and you'll want to see them get their happy ever after.

Apparently this the the first in a series of stories set in this quirky small town - can't wait to read the rest now.

OMG, I am back in Marietta!!
Is there anyone out there that doesn't just LOVE this town?! Not possible!
This is a first in a multi-author series called Montana Born Bride and it is spectacular. It was sweet and funny and I'm not gonna lie, but a bit of a tear-jerk as well.
Lisa Renee (our heroine) comes into this story with a lot of pain and a sad background. You won't be able to not cry. Adam (our hero) comes into the story with baggage, but not the same kind. But baggage just the same.
They meet, they fall in love and voila ... HEA :)
The story is short, sweet and very much the fairy tale ... exactly what every romance reader SHOULD love :)

Lisa has been a busy bee with all the weddings happening in Marietta. There truly must be something in the water! Lisa has been helping all the brides and bridesmaid's find the perfect gowns to complement complexions and make their fairytale wedding dreams come to life. Keeping busy has been something Lisa has done for so long now it truly is a habit. With work, volunteering at the hospital, and trying to take her bridal shop into the world of online shopping who would have spare time? Let alone spare time to date or dream about her own fairytale wedding.

This was a good story. I liked how caring and giving Lisa was, but it was sad learning why she spent so much time at the hospital. Adam was a little annoying. I understood his reluctance to share about his past, because of why he left, but his attitude about it was annoying. Still I enjoyed the book and would definitely continue with the series.

Excellent! It's wedding season in Marietta!! Lisa Renee owns the bridal shop in town and has seen her share of crazy but the upcoming celebrity wedding is more than even she can take. To escape she spends her down time volunteering at the hospital's pediatric ward where she meets Dr. Adam Brady. He seems honest and hardworking but also a bit mysterious. Could he possibly give her the fairy tale ending she's looking for??

Very entertaining story and one I definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this read. Some elements reminded me of things I've loved in a some of the romance movies I watched over the years, which makes the book both a fun new read and a familiar comfort. The story was sweet, with a little bit of angst, but short enough that it didn't get bogged down in a lot of unnecessary complications or side stories. It was the perfect length for the story being told, and in an easy to read, easy to love kind of way.

I don't like insta-love, in fact, I'll go on and say I loathe it so much and this book has it *shocker* (I might be wrong with this since I just can't understand the time frame). Everything seems to happen so fast and there are a lot of MEH moments. Sadly not for me.

The Fairy Tale Bride by Scarlet Wilson is the first in the Montana Born Brides series. It is a series of seven or so books by different authors that center around the small town of Marietta which has had a recent case of wedding fever. This book introduces readers to Lisa Renee and Adam Brady. Both have secrets from their pasts and need to work on trust issues. Living in a small town, where gossip is high, can be challenging.

Lisa has lived in Marietta her whole life and has built a business up for herself in selling wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses. Lucky for her, another previous local from the town who became a famous actress is back and looking for Lisa to help her crazy bridesmaids find dresses for her upcoming wedding. Between this potential boost for her business and her volunteer time at the hospital, she doesn't have a whole lot of time for her love life. But she meets Dr. Adam Brady while helping out at the hospital.

Adam Brady barely moved to Marietta a few months before meeting Lisa at his work. It's perfect for him because the small town hospital lets him work in more than one specialty. He wanted to escape large city living for several reasons, and he finds Marietta to be ideal for him. Lisa interests him from the moment he sees her and it isn't only because she is gorgeous. He wants to puzzle out her past and reasons for doing all that she does.

Between the two of them and the small town, it's not hard for them to bump into each other often. And when they do see each other, it seems as though they cannot help but shamelessly flirt with each other. I thought the way they learn about each other and get to know each other was done very well, except for the timing. The relationship goes way too fast for me at some points. There is a small amount of "smut" as some would call it, but it was mostly just a lead up and skips over the really intimate details.

I liked this book, but I didn't love it. It just went way too fast for me to be completely convinced. There were a lot of loose ends as well in my opinion on side parts to the story, like what happens with the actress and her fiance? Or what happens between Lisa and her estranged sister, Melody? Despite that it was a quick feel good romance if that's what you're looking for.

Oof. This one was hard to get through. I don't even know what the worst part was- it was pretty much all bad.

Every conflict between Lisa and Adam was ridiculous. Referring to her ex-fiancé when telling her backstory as "my fiancé"? Normal. Getting mad that a guy you've known for a whole week didn't tell you he won the lottery? So dumb. Especially when you didn't even have his phone number until the day before. All of it- so dumb.

Speaking of the whole knowing someone a week- the book takes place over a week, maybe two at most. Not only are they in love

Adding to the ridiculousness is the poor editing. I knew early on that the author had to be British, not American (I looked it up after several hints and discovered she is Scottish). Which is fine- but when you set a story in Montana, it should not use British terms. A couple of specific examples: using "hospital" instead of "the hospital", using the word "queue" for a line and "queueing" for waiting in said line. To me, those are the types of things an editor should catch.

I always love reading books based in the magical town of Marietta, but somehow this book disappointed me a little because it was too short. This was my first time reading a book by Scarlet Wilson and I enjoyed her writing style as it was simple and showed both perspectives. Lisa's character was one of a strong and independent woman who has overcome much pain in her life, but I did not get to know her well enough to fall in love with her character. Adam's character was a typical romance hero who was wary of women because he had been burnt in the past, but I felt we knew even less about Adam than we did about Lisa and that made him hard to relate to. The chemistry between Adam and Lisa was good, but nothing special because the author left out the intimate scenes between the two. The story definitely lacked depth as there was much potential that was left untapped as the ending was rushed and it felt like the main characters fell in love and decided to get married way to quickly. Overall this was a sweet and short romance that lacked depth and character development.
