"Midnight Alpha" by Carole Mortimer is a suspenseful thriller. I usually don't read thrillers but this book was very enjoyable. It made my heart race, and I didn't want to put it down. We have Gregori Markovic who is head honcho in the Russian side of the London mafia, and Gaia Miller who got a job at his club because she's investigating the death of her sister. The chemistry between these two is amazing despite the fact that each of them are strong minded individuals.

My first read in months and I'm so glad it was this one. I'm a sucker for uptight/proper heroes who seem to lose their sh!t as soon as they meet their lady. Gregori went from mysterious and proper to uber alpha and possessive as soon as he met Gaia. I'm loving this series by Mortimer and can't wait for the next one to be released.

Not my normal rating!
Bravo!! Definitely worth every 🌟 star! Overall quality of writing was excellent. A few minor glitches in proofreading. The story line and characters were well rounded and captivating. Although Gregori comes across as cold and distant, it's amazing how altuned Gaia and Gregori were to each other. No cheating or cliffhanger, steamy intimacy scenes and you get a happy ever after. Enjoy!

Riveting reading
Oh yes another winner from Carole Mortimer. A big fan here and this series of Alphas from beginning to this one leaves me breathless. This story: Gregori Makovic and the challenging Gaia Miller brings it's own angst, drama, sizzling chemistry and slow burn of passionate love. Intrigue and chasing a ghost is riveting reading.

Sexy Story, Alpha Hero

THE STORY: Gregori Markovic is known as the head of the Russian side of the London criminal underwood. Gaia Miller has gotten a job in his club to find out if he might be responsible for her half-sister's death. Gregori knows from the moment that he meets her that she is up to something. He also knows that he wants her. Danger surrounds them both as old enemies return.
OPINION: There is much to like in this novel. Gregori and Gaia have an intense relationship. I liked this book. For its genre, it is a good book. It is not a deep book but it has an interesting story and some good characters. I liked the action in the story and the relationship. I thought that the characters have similar strong willed demanding personalities that match one another well.
WORTH MENTIONING: For fans of Dair and Kat from SHADOW ALPHA, they make an appearance here.
FINAL DECISION: This was a good story and similar in tone and structure to the others in the series. I enjoyed the interaction between Gregori and Gaia especially with their contentious relationship.
CONNECTED BOOKS: MIDNIGHT ALPHA is the fourth book in the ALPHA series. This book can be read as a standalone but is closely connected with the third book in the series, SHADOW ALPHA, and is better read after that book.

Gregori Markovic, head of London's Russian Mafia, is the 4th alpha-male hero in Carole Mortimer's Alpha Series. True to form, he's rich, aloof, domineering, sexy - and so self-contained you just know he's ripe for a fall. Sure enough, intrepid and arousing Gaia comes to work in his club, and ends up rocking his world. She, however, is little better at handling the tender emotions than he is, and the only thing that works for them both is the hot sex they enjoy with each other. Is that enough? Of course not! The verbal sparring in this novel is as entertaining as the steamy romance, and the HEA, while no surprise, is very satisfying. Recommended reading!

Ok, so h takes a job working at a club bc she believes someone there is responsible for her half-sister's death. She catches the eye of the owner and instead of concentrating on finding out who killed her sister, she decides to lust after the owner. She was constantly back talking and giving everyone an attitude. I was so annoyed by her. At one point the h tells the H, her first sexual relationship was in college with a man 20yrs older than her. After that she kept having relationships with other older men. YUCK!!! Can you say daddy issues?!?!
