Refreshing. A straightforward story with a predictable outcome. I would have been disappointed had it been otherwise. No grisly prologue with panting and dismemberment. No abrupt multiple point of view shifts heralded by pseudo-precise locations of time and place, plus names. Like: Tom, Huddersfield, June 23, 1907, 10 11 pm. Was fun once, now not. So, negative values. But also a well knit narrative, nothing out of place, as far as I can tell.
