Wight is a fantastic debut novel, and absolutely worth a read. Each character was thoughtfully constructed, and through them, the world of Wight felt truly alive. Often, fairy tale retellings run the risk of falling into similitude, but Kerbow's necromancer twist kept the story fresh at every moment.
As a side note, I am a writer myself, and I had been feeling distant from my work for some time. But the amount of love that Kerbow has for her story and characters was so evident and inspiring that I found myself returning to my own abandoned drafts for the first time in months. That alone is worth all the stars I could possibly give.
