Season Sisters Saga #5

Serpent & Saviors: A Dark Rescue Romance

Rate this book

Not every serpent strikes from the shadows. Some smile while they sink their fangs in. Mine wears a wedding ring.

For the first time in years, I let myself believe freedom was possible. Andrew Marcel gave me something dangerous—comfort. Safety. Hope.

Piece by piece, he broke through walls I thought would stand forever, loving me with a patience I never deserved. And somehow, against every instinct screaming not to, I started imagining a future with him.

A real one.

But the truth buried inside me was always going to destroy us eventually. Because loving a man like him was never the hardest part. It was knowing I might have to break him to protect the people I love.

THE

I’ve spent my entire life keeping people at arm’s length. Rules made things simple. Predictable. Safe. Then Victoria walked into my life and shattered every last one of them. She became my exception.

My weakness.

The one person capable of touching the parts of me I buried long ago. And for one reckless moment, I believed she chose me too. Until she looked me in the eyes and proved just how wrong I was.

Now I can’t decide what hurts worse—the betrayal itself…or the fact that despite everything she said, some twisted part of me still wants to chase after her.

Serpent & Saviors is book 5 in the Season Sisters Saga. It is part of an interconnected series and CANNOT be read as a standalone. This is the conclusion of Summer's story.

Wow, Serpents & Saviors was everything! 🐍🖤 Summer’s story ended perfectly. Victoria got her voice, her freedom, and her happily ever after with Marcel, while the girls got the ultimate closure from Cam. 🤫💥

It's definitely darker in places with the death squad doing their thing, but the family unity and sisterly reunions made it so beautiful. 🥺👯‍♀️ Plus, Tori being ridiculously jealous of Kinsley before learning the truth about Finley was peak entertainment. 😭😂

I am so invested in these sisters and cannot wait for Autumn's book next! 🍁 mapping out all my theories now... Who is X?! I have my theory but no spoilers 👀⚠️

Check your TWs, and start at Book 1 if you're new! 📖✨

This book took me on a journey, but in the best way. I was happy, sad, mad, swooning, glad, annoyed, you name it, I felt it. The entire book…I was locked in. It had the perfect amount of plot with suspense and spice where I kept saying “just one more chapter”.

Andrew Marcel has officially made the list of book boyfriends. He is just the perfect amount of soft, sweet and caring when Victoria needed it, but also sexy protective Daddy Dom vibes. Just 🥵

I loved seeing the Death Squad and the Season Sisters team up together and be bad asses. And I loved seeing how their healing one another and are becoming one big “family”. I have so many theories going on in my head for what’s to come with Vanya and Seb, but I can’t wait to read Autumn and Pasha next! I know it’s gonna be so good but also heart breaking. I can’t wait!

Thank you Emerson Reign for allowing me to ARC review for you! Whatever you write, I will read! Your books just keep getting better and better!

I definitely need to breathe a few times before I can write this review... in, out, in, out, in, out...

OK, so the cliffhanger of Summer's first book (book 4 in this series) had me in a chokehold. I didn't expect that, so I just needed to know more.
Then there was the fact that Victoria still hadn't met Kinsley. Or Kinsley hadn't met her... However, you want to say it 😎 There was this misunderstanding hovering over Andrew and Victoria about Kinsley 🙈 I mean, if you've read the first three books in this series, (if not, what are you freaking waiting for???!!! RUN!!!) you know how strong the relationship between Marcel and Kinsley is (yes, for everyone but Victoria he's Marcel). But they aren't in a relationship relationship 😉 So it's so funny to always get to the point of the misunderstanding 🤣
Hey, at least there is something funny in the book because otherwise it would only be DARK. REALLY, REALLY DARK. The whole series is, because of the circumstances the 4 girls "met". But for Victoria, it's not just dark because of that; it's so much worse 😭 My heart broke for her 💔 It was so hard to read, but on the other hand, I knew there had to be a happy end, so I needed to know. Because there wasn't even a millisecond of doubt that Andrew and Victoria belong together 🩷 They are absolute soulmates. Completely and utterly 🩷
Yes, Victoria is married, but there is no cheating from her side. I can't say the same about her husband 🤬

Damnit, space runs out 😖 And I could talk about this book for ages. It's just so freaking good. I don't know if I liked the 🌶️ scenes or another very significant scene more. I definitely got a few more ideas for such a scene 😎

Thanks to the author for trusting me with a BETA 🩷

“With you, I’ve found someone who speaks the language of my very soul.”

Emerson has done it AGAIN!! I have waited for this book after the cliffhanger in Angels & Saints, and it did not disappoint. I said oh I hope this happens and they (the Death Squad) better do this, and oh did they deliver, even some surprises!

I’ve posted before that Spring’s story and Emerson’s season sisters was my first dip into dark romance, and I am so happy for it. I am so invested in the lives of these sisters and their found families.

This book delivered everything, ALL the emotions. I cried, I was soooo very angry, I was confused, and I was happy. Now I sit here in anticipation of what’s to come. What’s next for Autumn and Winter? Pasha? Who is X? Do we truly know the truth about Vanya or is there more? My “obsession” with these characters has caused my mind to come up with so many theories and I am here for ALL the details and the unfolding of their stories.

Thank you Emerson for allowing me to be an ARC reader, it truly means a lot, and I don’t know if I love these characters as much as you do because you created them, but they definitely hold a special place in my heart!

A huge thank‑you to Emerson for the ARC. All opinions in this review are my own, and I can’t even begin to express how thrilled I was to read and review the final installment of Marcel and Victoria’s journey. It was the perfect conclusion.
This book delivers so much emotion and depth from the characters, and I loved getting even more from Kinsley and her men, especially with their close connection to The Counselor. I was also pleasantly surprised by the additional development for Pasha and Isabella — an unexpected but very welcome layer to the story. The found‑family dynamic continues to shine and feels stronger than ever. The justice that the Season Sisters start to get is BEAUTIFUL, and I cannot wait for more.
Another beautifully written installment. Emerson Reign has absolutely become an author whose new releases I will download instantly.
The spice was 🥵🔥 literally everything. I will admit I was sneaking bits and pieces of this book while working and completely finished it in less than a day.

Perfect for readers who enjoy

Morally grey protectors
Secret child
Healing after trauma
Forced proximity

This is one of my favorite series. The way Emerson creates a world around her characters, building relationships, spinning her story, is incredible. I feel so immersed in the lives of the Death Squad/Season Sisters and I don’t want the books to end. This book is the second following the relationship between Andrew Marcel (The Counselor) and Victoria (Summer). Andrew spends more time with Victoria gaining her trust and working on a plan to help her. But don’t be surprised when the darkness envelopes you. (Be sure to read the triggers). The book covers the past and present and not all happy. As with the men in Spring’s story, Andrew is nothing but supportive and protective of Victoria, but with a little dom on the side. He is my favorite book boyfriend! Emerson’s writing makes me happy, sad, angry, disgusted, crazy, hot, and most of all joyous! I wish the Season Sisters Saga could go on forever! Thank you Emerson Reign for the privilege of reading your book. It has been a pleasure.

SO much to unpack here. We get the conclusion of Victoria's (Tori) story which I have been waiting for.. we were left on a cliffhanger which was phew. Tori and Andrew finally get their happy ending and she finally tells him who Declan really belongs to... and it isn't her husbands (Cam) thank goodness... that little tidbit was revealed last book so, it's really important you read the other books before this one otherwise you'll be confused.

I am looking forward to seeing Pasha flourish and finally leave Hannah behind because she is really sucking the life out of him. I loved seeing Victoria gain herself back, piece by piece and with the help of her 'sisters' she is able to fully reclaim herself and get rid of Cam.

I have thoroughly enjoy each book and as a set it just keeps getting better. Now.. we wait for the next installment.. Also, Will we ever find out who X really is?

I received this book and am voluntarily reviewing.

“You make me feel beautiful,” she added, the words breaking free like they’d been waiting years to be spoken. “Like I’m not broken… like I’m still worth touching.”

Emerson did it again! She never ceases to amaze me with her writing. I am so invested in these characters and each of their stories!

Andrew Marcel is a favorite character of mine and the completion of his story did not disappoint. It will make you angry, make you cry, make you scream and yell, make you laugh, do a little happy dance, and so happy. It is definitely an emotional roller-coaster, but one I'd continuously get in.

Victoria (Summer) is such a beautiful treasure. The way her character is written is so flawlessly beautiful. Her story is so heartbreaking. But, how she comes through in the end is a joy to read.

Please check the trigger warnings before reading.

Serpents & Saviors, book five of the Season’s Sisters brings closure to Summer’s story in a satisfyingly dark way. Not only does Victoria find her voice, her freedom, and the love and family she deserved, the revenge and closure the girls’ were able to get from Cam, so dark but so good.

A lot happens in this book that starts to bring the story together. It’s darker in some ways, especially as we get to see more of the Death Squad in action. But there are also some really beautiful moments - when the girls reunited with another sister, the family coming together in a really powerful way, the love between Tori and Marcel, and the teasers of what’s coming.

I am a huge fan of this series and am so invested in each of the sister’s stories. I can’t wait to read Autumn’s story next.

Book 5 in the season sisters series and I am still in love with this story. It was suspenseful and put you through all the different emotions. Victoria is finally able to heal. I loved everyone teaming up to get the closure needed for the girls.
The jealousy Victoria has for Kinsley is actually comical in the way she goes about it until she realizes who Finley actually is. So what's next. Who was x? And will Hercules make another appearance.
Please read your triggers. And if your just starting this series I highly recommend starting with book one.

****For the ones finding their voice again. Even if it trembles. Even if it breaks. What was taken from you was never truly gone. Its time for you to step into your power*****

Serpent & Saviors - Emerson Reign

I cried so much reading this series. Victoria and Marcel were so cute. I love this authors writing and the characters they create. I loved the sister’s reunion and I thought it was so sweet. I also loved the female empowerment moment that was in this book. I can’t wait to read more and for all the sisters to be reunited and have their happily ever after.

I've had the pleasure of reading all of these books and I can tell you that each one gets better and better
I read this entire book in one setting and i'm pretty sure I did that with all the previous books as well.
I wish I could rate this.So many more stars, it is far above five stars. It's just so good
This series is very traumatic and healing. At the same time. I cannot wait for the next season.Sister and to learn more about winter.I'm very curious, and I have theories.
Marcel was already one of my favorites in the beginning books and his and Victoria stories just show how much more I fell for him!

Oh my god, Emerson Reign does it again!

I was constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen. I loved how we got to dig deeper into Marcel and see him try to be there for Tori without crossing into that “therapist” mindset since that’s not what she wants. I also loved the growth of Tori’s character. The squeal I squealed during the reunion was unreal. If I could rate this 15/5 stars I absolutely would. “6 star read” doesn’t even do it justice. Every new book I think “I can’t possibly love this series more” and then a new book comes out and I realize I can (and do).

I cannot wait to keep reading!

ARC Review

I can honestly say whenever I put down my latest ARC of Emerson’s I’m left extremely disappointed….. that I don’t immediately have the next book in my hands! That’s it. My only complaint, like ever.

I truly loved every aspect of this book from Marcel rescuing her, to her and the girls reuniting, and my favorite was them standing up to the crew and reclaiming something for themselves!

If your like me and have fallen in love with this series already, don’t sleep on this one because it’s phenomenal🖤

What a perfect ending for Victoria. I swear every book gets better and better. Emerson sure does know how to pull the emotions from you. When the 3 of them reconnected FINALLY, ugh my heart. I was waiting for that moment. Even the soulmate seven was the cutest thing ever! The things Victoria went through, I swear she deserves Andrew Marcel, that man is perfect. He has such a calm but demanding demeanor about him that works perfectly for her. I love that this family is growing! Now I cannot wait for Isabella and Pasha, I know heads are gonna roll in that story, but i’m here for it.

Definitely the best out of all them besides #1. I still don’t understand how Kinsey’s character completely flipped from book 1. The way she is written reminds me of sibby from satans affair. I loved how dark the story went in the end. The reunion of the 3 sisters was so much better than the last time!!! Although it’s very too opportunistic. How 3 kidnapped rescued girls end up accidentally in the same house years later… could have been written a little more believable. I swear if X ends up being Vanya…

This story needed to be told and while I think book 4 was harder to stomach only because I didn't realize how tragic it was going to be this book is equally heartwrenching, but also the most rewarding and beautiful story. This book is one of my favorites from the series so far and I love them all. It is graphic, but justified. It's heartwrenching but also melted my heart in so many ways. This series is beautiful and amazing.

I had so much anxiety reading this.
It’s so good that everything I read about Victoria’s treatment by Cameron had my stomach twisting in knots. I was so worried about what was going to happen at the end of the week, and the finale did not disappoint.
I was simultaneously heartbroken, scared, and joyful by the end.
And seeing the ‘Crew’ all together and dishing it out was utterly terrifying and absolutely perfect 👨🏻‍🍳👌🏻💋
Victoria’s reunion made me cry 🥹🥹

What an excellent conclusion to Andrew and Victoria's story!
I was pulled right back into their story! It was captivating and also an emotional roller-coaster.
This book had drama, suspense, steam, and a lot of growth and healing. I love how the relationships developed and grew between Andrew and Victoria. They truly were meant to be. Their journey had so many ups and downs, but I'm so glad that they got their happy ending!

I devoured this in one day. I love how Victoria’s duet ended. There was angst, growth, and more of the death squad duties. I love this series and how it has developed.

Fair warning even though this is the end of Summer’s duet you do have to read the other books in the series for it to make sense. That can seem overwhelming but trust me it is worth the adventure.

✨ARC Review ✨

Dr Marcel might be my favorite member of the Death Squad (I have high hopes for Bash too).

Summer's story has been a tumultuous and stressful endeavor, but the ending is wonderful 💛

My chest hurt from anxiety and fear and then my face ached from all the smiles.

It was dark, it was brutal, it was beautiful 🖤

I was over the moon about reading this. I feel like I waited so long to be able to read the remaining part of Autumns story. I was not disappointed one bit. I cried, I wanted to throw my iPad (but obviously didn't) and I found myself smiling while laughing. I may have even rooted and hollered at a part or two.
I have been along for this journey from the very beginning. And you will want to as well so you can get a full scope of all the characters.
I love that we still see Kinsley and Isabella and all the men. A close knit family is just what these girls need to heal.
I really cannot wait for what's to come.
