I really liked the concept behind this book, but I think it has one fatal flaw. I don't think their system for tallying up the quiz answers was really accurate. I got Dauntless, which didn't feel right to me at all, but that was how the math worked out on their system. They put a specific answer that is supposed to be the "Divergent" answer with each question, and that seemed odd to me.
It was fun to play with this, and I hope my students (for whom I really bought this) enjoy it, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for an accurate answer.
EDIT: After writing this, I had a student take it, and her answers all seemed to follow the same pattern, and thus her result made sense. I decided then to go back and more closely analyze my results. Basically, all the 2s represent Abnegation, 4s represent Amity, 6s Candor, 8s Dauntless, 10s Erudite, and 12s Divergent. I tallied the number of answers I got for each category. I had 12 Amity answers, 12 Erudite answers, and 10 Candor answers. Basically I'm Divergent. This method made MUCH more sense to me!
This was okay. It was interesting to read all the little scenarios and consider how you actually would react when put in that situation... but the results were a bit meh and they didn't really seem to match up with the answers, which is probably unavoidable when you use a "calculate your total count" type of method (in which case you could have half Abnegation and half Divergent and no other answers and it would still put you in Candor instead of either one). Apparently my faction would be Candor, which I don't mind, though I tried going through the number to faction list that someone else posted in the reviews here and according to that, I had the most Amity replies (12), followed by Divergent (11). Abnegation & Candor (9), Erudite (7) and Dauntless (2), which seems to make a lot more sense. So, yes... Cool concept, but flawed execution.
This book was surprisingly well written. It can be a little random with its questions but its rly good. I would recommend it to any divergent lovers. This is how it works: you r given 50 scenarios and you have to choose 1 option out of 6 for each. U write down what u chose for each question and at the end, you calculate your points by your answer. (It gives u a chart for u to use at the end of the questions.) I got Amity, btw. I don’t know how accurate it is, but once you get your answer it tells you about your faction and what you would do in real life. Most of the things it said was accurate except for two main things: u actually DO fight with my siblings and I DONT like gardening. That’s the main things. Over all this is a cool book, and like I said in the beginning I would recommend it to every divergent lover.

The test took forever, I actually fell asleep while trying to take it. It's obvious that the situations are fleshed out with needless details in order to justify making this book-length, which got really old really quickly.
Umm, Dauntless? I am the very definition of a pacifist. The way of determining your faction I thought was very skewed. Like I get it it’s basically your average but STILL that’s not a very good way to determine something so big. Also, a couple of the “quizzes” were really weird and not important. So ok, but not good at determining results. I think a buzzfeed quiz would have been better and more user friendly with less room for error than a book but still it’s a cool idea.
The quiz was quite fun but the description of Dauntless was quite limited to the books... I guess I expected a little more from it in a real life scenario, as that is what is said it was going to do... Anyhu, who cares, I'm Dauntless, super cool and I'll totally kick your ass lol :D
Based in Veronica Roth's world setting of the Divergent trilogy+, this book is a fun faction quiz to simulate the Aptitude Test before Choosing Day.
Quiz had good questions though your answers may not have fit within the 6 choices given. I know several times I was setting there and going "but I would do #1 and #4!". You go with what is closest to your answer, even if it's not exact.
Five years ago, my aptitude test showed I was most suited for Dauntless. Today, my aptitude test showed I was most suited for Candor - which seems accurate to me.
My actual breakdown by faction answers is: Abnegation 5; Amity 7; Candor 15; Dauntless 8; Erudite 9; Divergent 6. So, it seemed like even with the tables in the book, I wound up in the right faction.
This book was enjoyable. We received 50 distinct situations and we needed to answer them with what depicted us the most. At that point, we included the score and we found the group we had a place in. At long last, we discovered our group and had the alternative to figure out how that group speaks to our present reality.
Not the group I thought I’d be in based on my answers, but not too bad. Quizzes seemed nice, if I had any criticism, it would be that the majority of scenarios have you as a female, which I imagine could be off-putting for the males who want to take the quiz. It’d be nice to have a little gender variety in the various scenarios you are placed in.
This book was good because it allows me to be introspective and think about how I would react in 50 different scenarios. I was surprised to find the faction that I got because it is one that I would never be able to enjoy or thrive in if I was in the real dystopian Divergent world. However, how it applied to my real life situations in the modern world did end up being nearly 100% accurate.
I liked this book and I got Divergent so that was great and you should do this book it’s good if u like Divergent. If you haven5 read a Divergent then read it before reading this book.
I got this ebook from library. I didn’t finish because it wasn’t lined up properly with answers for quiz. Hard to see the options to choose properly. I think it’s a fun idea but better in book not ebook style.
Someone put a lot of thought on this andI liked it. The escenarios are 50 in total, quick and easy to colored your score to get the total, you do have to write your letters, unless you want to go forward and back with each question, but thats your call.
I get this is all for silly fun but I don’t feel it is accurate at all. I got dauntless. Which seems lots of others did too. I can guarantee that I wouldn’t actually get dauntless if this universe were real.
50 questions reveal what faction you are in according to the Divergent series books. Read all 50 scenarios and answered the best of 6 responses. I don't agree with the faction the books says I am in, but interesting to read and check it out.
