I am a fan of Cookie Monster, KISS, and Dr. Who (along with most things British).
As a person who always dreamed of writing as well as one completely enthralled by all things zombie, it is hard to believe that I never once considered writing in the genre. It is true. I wanted to be more “mainstream”. The first novel I actually wrote is titled Dakota (as Todd Brown). It is about a pair of DEA types tossed back in time to just prior to the start of the Civil War. They are in Charleston, South Carolina, and one of them is an African-American.
The zombie thing really started when I wrote a short for a college Creative Writing class. The teacher, Ms. Bose, pulled me up and told me I had an obvious love for the subject and a real talent for the style. I decided to give it a shot.
The first thing I cobbled together was Zomblog. I wrote it as a warm up for the project I had brewing in the back of my mind. It is a journal account of the apocalypse. The funny thing is that it was never intended to be published. A few things happened and it ended up being presented to me as a gift in book format by my wife for a Christmas present. There was something I will never forget about holding the copy of that book in my hand the first time.
Because it gained a readership, and those readers asked for more, I made it a trilogy (Zomblog, Zomblog II, and Zomblog: The Final Entry). It is also because of those fans that I have returned to the Zomblog universe and just released the sixth (and FINAL) book in the series on Halloween of 2013: Zomblog: Snoe's Journey. I freely admit that I will sellout my plans to write what the fans ask for.
I really want my DEAD series to be what I am known for, and in the last year, it has really taken off. However, I will say that with the release of the fourth book in the DEAD series (DEAD: Winter), the numbers started to pick up beyond my wildest dreams.
The DEAD series (DEAD: The Ugly Beginning, DEAD: Revelations, and DEAD: Fortunes & Failures, DEAD: Winter, DEAD: Siege & Survival, DEAD: Confrontation, DEAD: Reborn) is scheduled to be a 12 part epic series.
It is told in three rotating chapters. One is from the first person perspective of Steve Hobart, a man thrust into the role of leader for a group of survivors struggling to keep alive. One chapter follows a group of four self-professed zombie “geeks” who initially believe that the zombie apocalypse would be fun and soon discover that it is nothing like the movies. The third of the rotating chapters is called “Vignettes” and is a series of snapshots from all around the world. Some of the vignettes are single chapter episodes, others are continuing threads that carry on for several chapters. A few are merged into the Steve story or the Geek story line.
Last year,I began my horror/comedy series, "That Ghoul Ava" and have found it to be my new guilty pleasure.

1/30/20: WOW!!! I love the development of Emily zombie! I was NOT expecting this twist. I hope Dr. Zahn (sp), will be able to do some test on a few subjects to figure out the children anomaly.
I was beginning to think that this was turning into a battle of factions. Happy to see the new spin on the "same ole" zombie story.
1/31/20: I was not happy with how this book ended. Tahliah(sp) is a teen now. So ten years were skipped meaning in the next book we will see more of her as a main character. I'm a creature of habit, so for me, this is a negative. It might not be bad, but I just can't bring myself to move on to the next book (just yet).
I am happy with how things worked out with Jody's groups and the exchange of the women. I do look forward to seeing how that progressed.

The book I rated best in the series so far (would be 4.5 if it was an option).
The stories all have a lot of growth and drama. Some take what I felt was a predictable path and some take a path I was wishing they would but didn't expect. If the story ended with this book it would be reasonable, I'll admit I'm worried that the next books will drag the series down...guess I'll have to wait and see.

Absolutely riveting. I really enjoyed having a sort of nice-ish volume. A lot of stories wrapped up and some new ones emerged. I especially liked the focus on the child zombies; they fascinate me. I think it is really unique to see it from the child's view. This arc really concentrated on Billy and his story the most. I look forward to the next book, as always and hope that my patience holds out. Also, thanks for leaving me hanging on my similar character (wink). If you haven't started this series you are missing out on one of the best zombie/survival stories available. Starting with DEAD: The Ugly Beginning.

Yet another great addition to the "Dead" series! The zombies are scary, but the children zombies are down right terrifying, and they are not even the most dangerous thing out there...people are! I tend to get excited about any story containing zombies, and TW Brown gives this series a realistic, plausible kick that really reminds me why I love this genre so much. The story and the people in it feel so real; I actually feel like I personally know each and every character.
If you enjoy reading about zombies and the apocalypse then you have to give the series a try. It will quickly become one of the best series that you have ever read! Just make sure you start with "Dead: The Beginning."

Yet another fab book in the brilliant Dead series by Todd Brown. The plot thickens, twists further and deeper still- those zombie children really do scare the bejesus out of me! Emily vignettes really do tell the other side of the zombie apocalypse... Must read!

Most Intense!
this will be short....Throughout this book I was on the edge of my seat, someone I cared for was going to die, I just knew it, I won't spoil anything, but people in TW Brown's books DIE!, don't get attached to any one person, you may lose you new best friend.

I really enjoy reading this book I got to read about every group and keep it coming kind of left me handing at the end I was not happy about that can't wait for the next book to come out love it

I like the story and the characters but it jumps around from one group to the other way to much - to the point I started having trouble keeping track which group I was hearing about.

Excellent series & very realistic if that can be said about a zombie series. He way Brown pays homage to all of the other series & writers is charming & unexpected. Love him & this series!

T W Brown's Dead: Spring is the ninth book in a series about a zombie apocalypse and different perspectives. This book is about finding new homes, saying goodbye to some and hello to the new. It's about realizing your new existence and truth and fighting to survive. It's still utterly amazing.
Narrator eally brought the characters' personalities out and the story came to life. Great job. Love it!

Best book in the series so far. The chapters are considerably longer that in the previous books and they are filled with action and development.
In both main stories there were more things happening than in the previous 5 books combined and they both got to the natural conclusion. The vignets got more interesting as well and there were many promises that were fulfilled.
If this would have been the last book of the series it would have been a great ending. Curios of what will happen next.

This is my fav so far. Things ate picking up again and the future might actually not be as black as I thought. Paced much faster with lots of action. This series has just hit the lift it needed after the last 2 books.

I've made it to book 10 and it's awesome! I'm glad I picked up this series after they have all been finished, I would have been pissed to have to wait on them. Haha

Great closure to third triad of series
another worthwhile read, the first one I had to wait for, since I read the first eight books back to back. looking forward to see how each group fares as they all start a community dynamic. I'm personally rooting for Billy's group.to thrive the most!!!

I seriously despise Juan and Kevin.
I'm happy for Vix, though. Never cared for the other two.
I still have trouble feeling anything at all for Jody and co.
Billy is very realistic, I love him. His group is definitely the best, I'd be following them, since Steve was the leader. Love the doc too.

I am a huge fan of the Dead series. The characters are awesome and I love how there is a balance of good to go with the bad.
