This really can't be book five!

The first four, take you on an AMAZING journey! The whole things works....the characters, storyline....the plot kept me reading well into the night. This dips it's fingers into that storyline, by having Cathern, be in the bar, when Darien shows up to pickup the green gems. And proceeds to take them back to Patrick. I'm not sure, this qualified as book five! What happens to Sue and Karl? Or, the angel and the devil? When's the wedding and the "surprise" I'm pregnant, because we were doing it while you technically human? I should have known from just looking at the cover, didn't even read the paragraph description on Amazon, was just excited for book five.

I met Julie in person at PennedCon this year. We were table mates. And while she was making dragons for her readers, we had a nice chat. She gifted this novella to me. I’d never read any of her stories before, so I was curious. I thought it was a charming story, if not long enough! It was a wonderful twist on what we think of as leprechauns. Thanks again! ☘️

If you have reading OCD (like me) then you are going to read this installment regardless. If not, then you don't have to read this novella to continue in the series. It literally has nothing to do with Darien and Vicky but it did give us a different perspective from memorable scenes like Vicky's first night at Alchemy and the reason Darien needed those green gem stones. I also believe it covers the night of the hunt with the hellhounds. What is does cover for sure is a sexy as hell leprechaun and the way too gullible but loveable character that is Cathern.

From the moment I met Patrick, I loved him. His character was the star of this novella and after Darien and Vicky's vault of secrets, Patrick's airy demeanour was welcome. He right off the bat let you know who he is and what you're dealing with but then again, he only has 46 pages to introduce himself, which goes to my main problem with this story. The length.

I understand the need to make it a novella but a different wish POV would be needed. You can't expect me to believe that they can meet and fall in love over 3 chapters and they seem like a solid couple if given the chance to develop. I don't understand the rush for two characters we never met before and I would have more believed this if it was about Vanessa and Elliot.

Once again, it is all PG so don't expect hot leprechaun sex. It's nice to see a Fay outside of fairy that isn't a mass of tentacles and as always, no matter how short, Julie always find a way to weave a solid back story or as solid as a 100+ year old Fay's history can go.

I liked it. I just wish it wasn't so rushed and we could spend more time learning about the characters. Maybe this would help me to be not so standoffish to the Fays, if I knew one of them in a more personal light.

This was a quick fun read to tide you over to the next heavy. I sure do hope we get more Cathern and Patrick in the Future.

This is a short little story that runs parallel to the Kindling Flames series. Store worker Cathren accidentally catches a leprechaun when she grabs him to prevent him from getting shocked by a fault light she is repairing. She is granted 3 wishes, which she thinks is a joke, becasue leprechauns don't really exist. To make the handsome man happy she rattles off the first things she can think of. Happiness, true love and great waffles. Who would have thought that the waffles would be the hardest thing to grant. Very cute story.

Found this for two bucks at hpb. It was a cute little book (zero spice), but I would have liked more depth and description. Even still, it was an interesting take on leprechauns, and the waffle misadventures were quite fun. Will look for the first book in the series to see what it's all about.

This was actually better than I thought it would be. It was cute, but was wrapped up a little to quickly and neatly. This would be a fun spin off.

A nice little romance novel, only 76 pages long, perfect for a St Patrick's day read.

A leprechaun caught and three wishes made.

My Thoughts:

Generally I am pretty 'meh' when it comes to novella. They do little to further the storyline of the series and oftentimes leave me more disappointed than satisfied. I didn't really know what to expect from this one, but I am so glad I got the chance to check it out!

Unlike the other four books in the series, Granting Wishes takes a step back and explores the rest of the paranormal world outside of Darien and Victoria's vamptastic life. Get out your gold and buckle shoes folks, Julie Wetzel's gone Irish! Granting Wishes follows the story of paranormal skeptic Cathren as she learns to cope with not only the existence of the paranormal world, but also her newfound friend, Patrick, who just so happens to be a leprechaun.

This is a very short read, clocking in at just shy of fifty pages, but one that had me laughing my way through it. When Cathren 'catches' Patrick, she is granted three wishes (in true leprechaun fashion). Thinking it's a joke, Cathren makes three off the wall wishes that end up making for some great literary fun!

A short tale of discovering yourself, true love, and broadening your horizons, Granting Wishes is the novella for any paranormal fans out there. Never read anything about leprechauns? I know I sure hadn't. This novel is a great place to start, though, don't start looking for little men with green coats and hats, you won't find them here. Wetzel's interpretation of the Irish folklore is beyond unique!

Cameo appearances are made by a handful of Wetzel's other characters in this series that definitely ended up putting a huge smile on my face. Any fellow fan of the Kindling Flames series will absolutely love this novella! I only wish Julie would consider a spin-off series featuring these awesome characters!

Given my track record with this series, it should come as absolutely no surprise that I am 'granting' Granting Wishes by Julie Wetzel another well-deserved 5-star review. You guys will not be disappointed by picking up this incredible series. Four amazing novels and a novella that are sure to leave any paranormal fan begging for more. Get to one-clicking people, Kindling Flames is ready for the reading!

I really liked the chemistry between the two main characters. It was a very fast read and left me wishing that this was a full story instead of just a novella. These characters could have had so much more to tell the reader. I hope their story line is expanded further in the future.

This cute story is a quick read with humor. The two main characters that get more than they bargain for when fate intervenes. It's very much a stand alone short story in the Kindling Flames set. Master Darien makes only a cameo appearance. I love that we get to glimpse a different paranormal angle set in the same world where the supernatural exists mostly unseen right beside us.

This book was given to me in exchange for my honest review.

Wow

Now this was a HAPPY story! I would like to order some waffles with a side of Patrick! This was a cute story and even had a couple of characters from the other books about Master Darien which was nice. Good characters and definitely a good story. And you don't really have to read the other books to understand this it can be read all by itself. I definitely recommend this book, it's what they call a "feel good" story cause your insides feel all good and mushy!

novella

Short story/novella. Hot cover was a misdirect for a sweet romance (only kissing, mild groping, & fully "closed door" action). Story is of a hot (and only slightly below 6 feet) leprechaun being "caught" by a girl. She is ignorant of any sort of paranormal world, and only agrees to the "3 wishes" to get him to finally leave. Wishes were for true love, happiness, and waffles. Cute, but nothing to make me seek out more by this author.

Call me a sentimental old fool but this was a delightful read as well as complimenting the characters of the Kindling Flames series which was in itself a great series. Received the first novel as a freebie and bought the rest of the series immediately after reading it. Easy reading, great characters and entertaining plots.

This book is my first encounter with the author, Julie Wetzel. Yes, this one was a short novella...but I enjoyed it. Wetzel's writing style keeps your interest and invests your time and emotion into the characters. I can't wait check out her other books!

Too short

If the author had written a full length story, I would have given five stars. It is a good story, but alot of details are not included about the two main characters.

2 1/2 stars. Not much to it. I was left feeling like "that's it, it's over????" Would only read it if you are already reading the series....maybe.

Kinda boring

Boy meets girl. Not much else happened. Wasn't worth reading. It was sweet but absolutely nothing to it. Fill in story with no substance
