Patrick Holden was a good-for-nothing scoundrel, taking what he wanted without regards to anyone else. At least he had been, until a few months ago, when fate dealt him the blow he’d been tempting.

Candace Tibbet lived alone with her neglectful father, and when Patrick showed her the merest of affections, she gave him attention if only to feel loved for a brief moment.

Neither expected a kiss to land them in front of a judge, forced to participate in wedding they didn't want. Then, only months into their marriage, a fire left Candace physically scarred for life.

Patrick was consumed with guilt. Candace feared she’ll never be loved.

When given the opportunity to walk away from their marriage with no strings attached, will love become the greatest complication of all?

Winds of change

A good story. I liked the end meeting her uncle. I've traveled in Wyoming and liked the scenery so it was interesting. I really like reading about the changes God can make in our lives. Having experienced it myself it's fun to read a story about how He may have worked in other lives.

This story was about Patrick Holden, troublemaker brother, and how through God he was able to change his ways. It was such a fun and interesting story because you are always pulling for the underdog. Come to find out he was miserable but just didn't know how to reach out and get help after his Pa's death.

FINALLY GETTING IT RIGHT
I love series book, and this series does not disappoint. Patrick Holden seemed to go down the wrong road after the death of his father, gambling and living wild, as if there was no care in the world. Candace Tibbet has had a rough life, her mother died during childbirth, and her father is neglectful and cruel. When Patrick meets Candace at a dance and talks her into going outside and is caught kissing her, Burl Tibbet, her father, forces them into a shotgun wedding. What happens when after four months they are told that it was all a hoax. Will Patrick and Cadence be able to realize that they have honestly developed feelings for one another or will old habits return and Patrick run? This story has several twist and turns with this mystery, suspense, and romance. The story kept the pages turning as the tales unfold. The characters and dialogue is heartwarming.

This is the 3rd book in the Brides of Weatherton and a great Christian romance and suspense story about forgiveness, redemption, and second chances. Although it's a short story, the character development and storyline were well written. This was an enjoyable and fulfilling read that can be read as a stand alone. I was given a copy for an honest review.
