De resto, um mistério de small town angustiante e viciante! O romance entre o Will e a Morgan foi muito fofinho e slow burn autêntico 🥹🫶🏼

Döden på Daffodil Inn överraskade mig! Jag brukar bli lite uttråkad av cosy crime men den här hade både fart, spänning och värme. Jag tror jag uppskattar att den största vikten lades på själva mordet: karaktärerna jobbade mer med lösningen av det än med det relationella. Hade det varit större del kärlekshistoria och bara ett mord i bakgrunden hade jag tyckt sämre om den.

Vi följer två karaktärer: Morgan, vars föräldrar äger Daffodil Inn där mordet sker, och Will, som arbetar som trädgårdsmästare på området. De är båda på väg in i en relation tillsammans när mordet sker och deras världar skakas om på olika vis. Wills dotter Angel är nära sammankopplad med den gamla damen som hittas mördad och hennes teckningar och kryptiska meddelanden är en bidragande faktor till att mordet nystas upp. Jag älskar sånt! Slutet är minst lika rafflande som i vilken deckare som helst och jag slår nöjt ihop boksidorna efteråt. En cosy crime med fokus på crime - helt i min smak.

Morgan are maturitatea emotionala a unei lingurite. Orice neintelegere minora este tratata ca un eveniment catastrofal, iar comunicarea pare sa fie un concept complet strain pentru ea. Drama queen este putin spus.
Will este atat de dispus sa isi ceara scuze pentru orice incat ma mira ca nu si-a cerut iertare si pentru schimbarile climatice.
Politia este complet inutila. Noroc cu consatenii bagaciosi, experti in barfe si investigatii dupa ureche, care reusesc sa rezolve cazul. Pentru ca de ce ar fi competenti oamenii care sunt platiti sa investigheze?
Plotul is not plotting. Dialogurile sunt stangace, personajele sunt frustrante, iar atmosfera nu compenseaza absolut nimic. Nici macar nu ma pot consola cu ideea ca este o carte de vibe, pentru ca nu am simtit nimic in afara de iritare.

All good and fun, until the last few chapters where someone was being held at literal gunpoint after being abducted and the author wrote ‘unalived’ instead of killed. Either censoring (boo), booktokification (boo), bad writing (boo) or ai use (boo) so like 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh also the main guy was meant to be like drop dead gorgeous but the first time we meet him he’s wearing like slim fit jeans, a tight black shirt, a PURPLE BLAZER and SNAKESKIN BOOTS AND MATCHING BELT. NO. AND A PONYTAIL. HUH.

Death at Daffodil Inn is cute in its own cosy‑mystery way, with the murder and mystery adding just the right amount of intrigue to keep the story moving. It’s sweet rather than intense, and the romance woven through it fits that tone perfectly - gentle, warm, and not at all spicy, but still satisfying.

Morgan is such a lovely character. A nursery teacher who adores her job and her kiddos, she’s kind‑hearted and steady, even if she’s been unlucky in love and hesitant to put herself out there again. Will, a single dad to Angel, handles his crush on Morgan with real respect - waiting until Angel is no longer in her class before making any kind of move. It’s thoughtful, patient, and exactly the kind of behaviour that makes you root for him.

Together, Morgan and Will find themselves drawn into solving the murder of Ms Eleanor, Angel’s new best friend. Their teamwork and growing connection make the mystery feel even more engaging.

A sweet, lightly suspenseful romance with charming characters and a cosy small‑town mystery at its heart.

Lighthearted and good to curl up with for a feel good romance, alongside a murder in the style of Midsummer Murders or Death in Paradise.

The amount of cliched sentences was hard to stomach for me. Also I dont't think that the plot makes any sense: rezoning doesn't force you to sell anything, and can't imagine rezoning being so specific that an inn and a spa are not in the same category.

There’s something about a small-town mystery wrapped up in a budding romance that is so easy to get swept into, and Death at Daffodil Inn delivered plenty of that cosy, springtime charm. With the Daffodil Jubilee in full swing, a beautiful inn setting, a suspicious death and a variety of characters, this was an enjoyable addition to the Cinnamon Falls series.

Morgan finds herself caught up in a mystery when a guest is discovered dead in the inn’s garden maze, and what starts as an attempt to protect her family’s inn quickly turns into a much bigger investigation. The mystery kept the story moving, and there were enough twists and suspicious characters to make me question who could actually be trusted.

One of my favourite aspects was the small-town atmosphere. Cinnamon Falls has that cosy, slightly quirky charm that makes you want to curl up with the book and stay there for a while. The Daffodil Jubilee also added such a fun backdrop to the mystery, and I loved how the celebrations contrasted with the darker events unfolding behind the scenes.

And then there’s Will! The chemistry between him and Morgan was definitely one of the highlights for me. Their relationship has that friends-to-lovers tension I always enjoy, and I liked seeing them work together while their feelings continued to develop. That said, I did find myself expecting a little more romance than the story ultimately delivered. Considering how prominently the romantic tension is teased, I would have loved more time devoted to Morgan and Will actually exploring their relationship.

The mystery itself was entertaining, although I did manage to guess the villain fairly early on. While that took away some of the suspense for me, I still enjoyed seeing how everything unfolded and watching the pieces eventually come together.

Overall, Death at Daffodil Inn was a cosy, entertaining mystery with a charming small-town setting, intriguing secrets and just enough romance to keep things interesting. While I would have loved a little more romance and a more unpredictable reveal, I still had a great time returning to Cinnamon Falls.

Death at Daffodil Inn brings us back to Cinnamon Falls and another murder mystery is upon us.

We first meet Morgan in book one of the Cinnamon Falls series and she intrigued me and she’s just as intriguing in this one.

Morgan is reluctantly helping her parents at the Daffodil Inn getting ready for the festivities but things take a turn when a dead body turns up in the Inn’s garden Maze.

Will the local landscape Gardner is designing the maze for this years festival so when the body is found he needs answers. Will was such a sweet and lovely dad, his relationship with his daughter was so adorable. I loved that the author gave depth to this character and showed his past.

Morgan and Will work together to try and figure out what happened and it’s fun watching them do so.

I loved the whole community and how close everyone is. The characters are easy to love and I can’t wait to see who gets a story next.

R.L. Killmore created an intriguing cozy mystery with a whole lot of small town charm. It’s fun, it’s tense and it’s been a joy to read.

This is the second book in the Cinnamon Falls series.

I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about this series. I really like the atmosphere, and the setting of the town is really charming. I also enjoy that the mystery isn't too intense — sometimes that's exactly the kind of book you need! With all its cosy vibes, I think this series would make a perfect fall read.

I didn't really care for the romance, if I'm honest. I just didn't see much chemistry between Morgan and Will, and their relationship didn't add much to the story for me. There's also something about the writing style that doesn't quite work for me, although I can't put my finger on exactly what it is.

Overall, it was a decent mystery, and I'd recommend it if you're looking for an easy, cosy read ✨️📖

Picking back up in the second book of the Cinnamon Falls mystery with a new murder to solve. I enjoyed this a lot more than the first book, while one of the twists was predictable the characters in this were a lot more enjoyable to read. Angel was such a good standout character and it was so good making her the key to unlocking what happened.

De Daffodil herberg is het tweede deel in de Cinnamon Falls serie van R.L. Killmore. Ik was weer erg benieuwd naar deze cosy murder mystery en kon dan ook niet wachten om in dit boek te duiken. Maar wat zal dit verhaal zijn lezers gaan brengen?

De Daffodil herberg is als standalone te lezen, maar sluit ook goed aan op Cinnamon Falls. Waar de romance in Cinnamon Falls afleidend was, was deze in De Daffodil herberg perfect door het verhaal heen geweven. Ook is er in dit boek meer ruimte voor een murder mystery doordat de dader veel langer geheim blijft.

Goed begin van de vakantie met dit ontspannende tweede deel in de suspense romance serie Cinnamon Falls!

okayy this book was definitely cute! i specifically went out of my way to buy this in paperback format as the first book was so enjoyable to read.
firstly, the characters were so lovely: as soon as i found out that will was a single dad, i KNEW i had to read this. i liked the fact that he had a troublesome past, but is now a better guy. i liked morgan a lot from the first book, and really liked her appearances in this book - especially when it came to the depth with her and the inn/her parents. and angel... she's soooo cute bless her: she was definitely my favourite character, and i loved how her past friendship with eleanor shaped the discovery of the murderers. and of course the continued appearance of nia and jesse was lovely to read about too, especially how nia had morgan's back when it came to will.
i really loved the whole premise, too: murder mystery and romance will always be a little bit of me, especially when set in an almost idyllic town.
however, the reason why i didn't give this the full 5 stars, and could honestly consider rounding it down to 2.5 stars, is the imbalance of themes. in the first book, i found that the romance parts were not really mentioned much, like how jesse and nia saw eachother for the first time after 6 years and they didn't even react?, however it almost felt like we weren't given any romance OR murder mystery for a good part of this book. i found that, after the first couple chapters and the last few chapters, the book was just so boring. it was just too much family drama, so many loose ends, and not much investigating the murder of eleanor. it felt as if morgan and will were so 'unsynched': will was more focused on caleb and his involvement, and morgan only realised the potential of this in the last half of the book. i don't know how to describe it, but it's as if one character goes down an alley when investigating the murder, and then doesn't go down it any further after that chapter. it felt as if a couple ends were just completely uninvestigated in the middle of the book, and were only addressed again at the end, which made my reading experience a little unpleasant.
and also, i felt as if the romance was a little lacklustre for my liking? obviously no book's going to have the perfect level of romance for everyone, and i appreciate that, but it almost felt a little awkward reading what happened between will and morgan. so they meet for the first time, and they've apparently been crushing for a little while. aww that's sweet, will brings morgan the bouquet of daffodils, oh and they just so end up falling into eachother, and then oh the murder's happened. this was a little cringe but i'll let it pass... my main issue was their date. they'd barely even talked prior to this/in between these two events, it felt like, so it felt a little out of the blue? so they go on the date, aww it's going well, and then suddenly will gets that call from caleb saying that he was arrested. i understand why he had to leave the date, but i don't know why morgan thought that this was about her?? he was clearly angry at something on the phone and not about her, and i felt that this quick switch from 'he's so lovely' to 'i'm not going to waste any tears on him anymore' was so strange and a bit awkward to read?? i felt like i was sitting in on a weird group therapy session where i was the only one who knew both sides of the story 🧍‍♂️.
^ linking to this, the romance was so poor and awkward that it made me ship morgan and cameron. when cameron was eventually made out as 'the bad guy', i literally felt bad for him. i don't think that was meant to happen!!
but yeah!! this book was alright, and i think it was a good sequel to the first book. i'm not sure if i'm going to return for the third, but we'll see how it goes!

Aqui acompanhamos Morgan, filha dos donos da pousada Daffodil Inn, educadora de infância, determinada, independente, mas... com um coração ainda por curar ❤️‍🩹, e Will, um single daddy que me conquistou, ele é pai de uma menina, Angel, e sempre teve curiosidade em conhecer melhor Morgan, que, em tempos, foi professora da sua filha.
Agora que Morgan já não desempenha esse papel, Will vê naquela celebração do Jubileu uma oportunidade para a conhecer melhor e, talvez, dar início a algo mais. 💭A interação entre os dois é leve, divertida e absolutamente deliciosa 🥰. No entanto, mal sabiam eles o que estava prestes a acontecer...

Death at Daffodil Inn captures all the charm and idyllic small-town atmosphere that made book one in the Cinnamon Falls series so enjoyable. Honestly despite its murder rate, I'd move to Cinnamon Falls!

This time, the focus shifts to Morgan - Nia’s best friend - whose story I was already keen to read after she piqued my interest in the first book.

Spring is in bloom in Cinnamon Falls and it's the annual Daffodil Jubilee. Morgan is reluctantly helping her parents run the Daffodil Inn, all while trying (and failing) not to daydream about Will, the attractive single dad she can’t get out of her head. When a guest is found dead in the inn’s garden maze, the festivities turn deadly, and Morgan finds herself drawn into a mystery that could jeopardise her family’s future.

The romance here is sweet and heartfelt. But my favorite relationship was between Will and his daughter, Angel - utterly heartwarming and very relatable.

It was also nice seeing Nia and Jesse appear on the periphery while allowing Morgan to fully step into the spotlight.

The mystery itself is fairly predictable, but still enjoyable, and the pacing keeps things moving nicely alongside the romance.

Book two of the Cinnamon Falls series, another cosy read! 📚

We get to spend time with the characters from book one which was nice and we also got to meet some new characters.

With the setting being based around the Daffodil Inn and the Daffodil Jubilee a yearly tradition for the residents of Cinnamon Falls and people from far and wide..... The Daffodil Jubilee is in full swing with everyone getting ready for the Petals and Promises dance including Morgan and Will....

When suddenly a horrible deathly scream echoes through the Jubilee and everyone goes running to the maze where a previous owner of the Inn is found dead.... could this be natural causes or was it another murder in the corrupt town of Cinnamon Falls???

In steps the local police force with Jesse (a character from book one) at the front ready to solve this crime and get justice. However all is not as it seems 🤔

Will is a single dad to a beautiful daughter who has managed to strick up a wonderful relationship with the deceased, after watching his daughter struggle with the loss he and Morgan decide to try and solve the crime for themselves all whilst there is a romance building in the background for them both.

This was another easy cosy read, but I must admit I did enjoy book one more. For me the ending of this one just didn't fit with the rest of the book..... the wording of someone being unalived was a bit off... why not just say killed, that's where the story was going after all.

A small town murder with a friends to lovers 💕 setting.... will everything work out for the best for everyone of Cinnamon Falls?
