Because they fear us Tim 21, because they were hurt, and wanted to hurt something back. Because they are human.
I dropped this for a couple of days, maybe? because my novel reading took over. i really hate the dismissiveness of the father of robots himself, to the feelings of robots in general, it doesn't take too much thinking, to realize that robots as complicated as these presented in the story, are capable of emotion, making them very very close to humans. But this could very well be the Main needle mover in this story, The Robot's got fed up with humans treating them like they are Objects, and decided to Revolt, Attack on Titan style baby. Can i say that i am really glad that Driller was not killed? He is my favorite character in the story so far. The dog is the cutest and the most noisy creature ever, but did you notice even the dog is capable of emotion, when the big guy growled at him, the dog became dead silent, and he is a freaking cheap robot dog, which can give us a pretty strong idea, that if the cheapest robot, can show human emotions, it means every single robot in this story, is as capable if not more!
Instead of reading my digital copy, I found this issue in my favorite bookstore here in Skopje and I sneakingly read it there (one of the two bookstores that carry books in English). I still find the artwork beautiful but odd. But I'm liking the story so...
I'm giving this issue a 3.5*s as it wasn't quite as enjoyable as the last one, but it was still very interesting. In this issue we're following the Dr and the captain who are travelling in the hopes of finding our main character Tim-21. We're still not entirely sure what their motives are or who they're really working for, but we know that our little fellow needs some help and so hopefully these people will be the answer...
I really enjoy the bright white artwork we have going on here, it's very pretty and it allows for some very vivid and eye-catching moments where there's no distractions going on in the background. I think that the designs for the different robots too is something which really makes me like this series so far as it does have some inventive ideas for costume design. Finally I would have to say that one element I really enjoy is the facial expressions as these are done so that they really do show the emotion of the characters in a clear and touching way. I feel like I can connect a little with them and see what they're thinking, and I feel like each of the issues is a little bit too short because they all end just as I'm really getting into them!
Luckily I have the next issue waiting for me to try it out and I shall do so very soon, but this one I would give a 3.5*s to :)
Robot afterlife by entering the head of a Harvestor? Again the lettering coming from the Androids. In the "afterlife" Tim doesn't have any injuries..... You wanna kill me, Humes? Driller a Killer! Driller a REAL killer. HURRRMANS!!! This is kind of Matrix meets I-Robot! Mr Tullis growling at Bandit. Doctor Quon fixes Tim-21 enough for him to come back, is shocked he remembers him. Tim stating he had a dream. Dr Quon stating that robots can't dream cause thats impossible... then Tim asks the main question... Then where was he. WHERE WAS HE? Tim has me hooked, Driller is AWESOME and I WANT a BANDIT!! CANNOT WAIT FOR ISSUE #4

This is starting to get all sorts of scary with the destroyed robots. The sad part, or good depends who you are, is that I can see why the robots are mad. The big question I have is, how did they develop feelings? Tim loved his family. These destroyed robots are angry. These are powerful feelings. How did they come to feel at all? Was it a program? Can they really feel or are they being controlled by someone or something? So many questions!
I also love the idea of Tim having a "near death" experience and seeing the robot afterlife. I'm sure that plays into the larger story (since Tim is somehow connected to the harvesters), but it's still great, and the art work so well. I love the one page where it's zoomed out and you see Tim standing above the pit of harvested robots.

This series continues to be more and more beautiful. The art work is incredible and the story has me by the short hairs. Tim-21 has a very Asimov "Sonny" feeling to him, something I greatly admire. The newest issue just dropped and I cannot wait to devour it!
