As far as Zoey Blake was concerned Mike was her brother's lackey, a gorgeous lackey, but a lackey no less. He was a giant pain in the rear and puts the 'bear' in overbearing. She had always been seen as the daughter of William Blake and the sister of the handsome Jackson Blake. She was afraid she would never find anyone that saw her for herself. Now she had two guys that were vying for the real Zoey.
Mike had been through a war, on and off American soil, but nothing was more difficult to face than a war with his mind and heart. Common sense said to stay away from her because she is his friend/client's baby sister, but when had common sense ever played a part when love and lust were involved.
Can he overcome his conscience and take what’s his? Can she let go of her fear of being used for her name and give her heart to the lovable brute?
I’m not a fan of immature behavior. Unfortunately, that was a big reason I couldn’t get into this book. The heroine came off very rude and bratty. It does have the jealous/possessive hero I usually like, and a good epilogue.
Another winner for CM Steele Book two did not disappoint, except I am a little upset that this book is not better edited than the first one. So four stars here again. The story however did not disappoint me in any way. This story is about Mike, a security expert who while guarding Jackson and Elizabeth (the hero and heroine from book 1) falls for Jackson's little sister Zoey. Now Zoey is sassy and full of life but she goes in full bitch mode when she experiences an uncontrollable attraction towards the hero who appears to be only teasing her. She is only 18 so these feeling are hard for her to deal with and she was very uncertain. Therefore, she decided she was NOT going to let her guard down. Mike was NOT having that! His attraction for her was too all consuming for him to ignore. His need for her was primal and it drove him to claim her and fast! He felt her need and it fed his own. However, their timing was all wrong as their lives are in jeopardy. Conflict and uncertainty dictated their lives. Although the odds were against them, they took the chance and became part of something great! A power couple and a force to be reckoned with! YES IT WAS AN AWESOME BOOK. WORTH A READ AND A REREAD.
Safety: hero is experienced and uses condoms, she is a virgin (18 makes sense here), the OM/OW drama is very little, and the push N pull is only at the beginning. They are completely faithful to each other.
The story started of after Jackson and Elizabeth (H/h from book1) got married and went to Maine to meet his family. When they reached the mansion, it was the first time Mike and Zoey met.
There's an accident that happened in book 1 but the story was told in this book. They were hit by another car and the person in the other car started shooting at them. With injuries of his own, Mike still managed to bring them to the hospital.
They're in love with each other but kept on fighting it until the accident. Then they started to get to know each other while they heal.
Then they went to Boston where Mike lives and has a company there with His brother, Milo and friend, Duke. They had a fight then they needed to go back to Maine but Zoey thought that Mike was done with her but really, something happened back there and needed his help (about H/h) from book 3).
After they solved the problem (which I think will be told in book 3), he went back to Zoey and talked about the fight they had which was just a misunderstanding and all is well again.
It also has a cute epilogue.
Safety: There's no OW. There's Rick, her sort of boyfriend before she met Mike. They kissed at her 18th birthday party but that's all. She's a virgin. And Mike was celibate for a year before they met. So it's a safe read.
Even though Zoey Blake was attracted to her brother's bodyguard, she thought he was just another employee who didn't have a brain of his own. However, Mike was a lot more and he is struggling with his friends sister not wanting to cross the line. Mike though decides Zoey is his future and he plans to maker her his.
I wanted to like this one but thought Zoey was really immature and could not understand why Mike would bother. The story got there but the beginning was hard to get through.
Loved it! Great short read with loving characters! Heroine was feisty but cute and hero was sex on legs. Sweet and sexy story plus we got a cute and funny epilogue! C.M Steele rocks my world!
This is the second book in the Caught series. Zoey Blake is Jackson's baby sister, she just turned 18. When Jackson & his new wife, Elizabeth return to his home in Maine he brings his security team with him. Mike is 30 years old, retired from the military & now has his own security business with his brother Milo & their friend, Duke. Mike watched his friend/employer Jackson fall head over heels in love with Elizabeth & couldn't understand it at all until he steps out of the car & sees Zoey Blake for the first time. He cannot understand why he feels so possessive of her & jealous when she talks to another man especially since she is treating him like he's beneath her. They both fight their attraction to one another until a car accident/shooting changes things for both of them.
The story was really good. We got to see a lot of the same time period as the first book but from a different point of view and what was going on with a different couple. Mike and Zoey had several obstacles to overcome before they got their happily ever after. Now the things that bugged me. Zoeys attitude. Oh my goodness in the beginning she acted like a spoiled little b***h!! Thankfully she got her act together partway through!! The other thing that bugged me was the editing or rather the lack there of. There are several misspelled words and sentences that have missing words. It started to distract from the story itself. I have read Numerous books by this author and that is not the norm. I believe this is one of her first books. That being said I was still impressed with the story and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
this is the second book in the series so it needs to be read after the first. it's told in a dual pov that I love. it's a great story line and has that alpha male we all love. it did have quite a bit spelling errors and words in the wrong spots when it shouldn't be that drove me a bit mad that normally arent in cm steele books. but I still loved the story. now onto the 3rd book.
This book was great in answering g how Mike and Zoey came together and learned about the accident from book 1. I love C.M Steele. Many chapters are the same as book 1 but from a different point of view some word and typing errors but lovEd the book regardless
Every time I get a sneak peek into the next book in anxious to read to see what happens. These men are such cavemen when it comes to there women. I'm laughing at Mike with all he went through with Zoey. At least noone tried to kill them again.
This is book 2 in the Caught series and it was truly AWFUL!! It was basically the same story as book one which was fine the first time around. I didn't need to read the same again through another couples perspective. This hero, Mike was 30 and the heroine, Zoey was just 18. She was incredibly immature and I just couldn't believe that he would look at anyone like her and I didn't feel any connection between them. The language used was very crass and derogatory at times and as for the grammatical errors and mistakes, they were plentiful, even more than in book one and I find it hard to believe that an author would release work in such a poor state. There is a third book to this series but I won't be reading it and based on what I have read so far I won't be reading any other work by this author. I wouldn't recommend this book or author and I can't justify giving it even one star!!
Both Mc's were a little bit juvenile in their interactions. Her I can understand because she is only freakin 18! Anyone who's a fan of the whole haters to lovers will enjoy this. It was a quick and fluffy read (which was what I was looking for) but still enjoyable
I love this series it's awesome all these wealthy alpha males that take the woman they want. They claim them in everyway they own them mind body and soul.
Loved it! Great short read with lots of alpha insta-love in it! That being said, the editing was horrible! As long as you're not the grammar police you will enjoy it!
