I really enjoyed spending time with Amos and the other characters in Hobson's novels. The plots unroll at a gentle pace, reminiscent of Dame Agatha. The only annoyance is Swift's boyfriend, but no author is perfect! You can read these books in or out of order, which is a nice change for a cast of characters.
A typical British police procedural in the style of Agatha Christie. A family of three brothers and three sisters attend their father's funeral and later the reading of the will. Immediately after, the eldest son collapses dead. DI Amos must figure out which sibling is murdering the men and tells them the solution at the end in a classic Christie gathering of suspected. Such fun.
