I am a wife, and mother of two funny and crazy kids. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. When I’m not beautifying my clients as a stylist/makeup-artist at my day job you can find me reading, fangirling my favorite authors, or singing along to the radio. A year ago, I got the opportunity to read the debut novel of a then client, now friend, and something clicked. My “what the hell” attitude kicked in and a year later, here I am.

Damn, man!!! What was that???

T.A. Roth, are you trying to kill me???
Why you put that cliffy in the end????
How many things have to suffer those two for the name of love, ugh???
What was their mistake???

They just fell in love for first time in their lives and it was a difficult road to cross...

The obstacles were too many!!!
Why the hell??? Why????
First that bitch Maria... I wanted to kick that girl in the ass so hard!!!
Then his mother and her evil attitude toward Ari!!!

Then the nightmares of her childhood, and now that???
The nightmares will come true????
Yep, it's officially. You are trying to kill me from the agony!!!
How am i supposed to live until the next book???

Pffff!!! I confused you, right???
Sorry about that, but if you were me, i'm sure that you were in the same condition with me after that awful cliffhanger!!!

But let me tell you some things about Ben and Ari...

Ben saw for first time Ari in some party of his frat house and from the first moment he couldn't take his eyes from her...
So, he tried to meet her again and his ally in that mission was Ari's best friend who was in the same college with him.
Nothing weird, ugh??? Boy wants girl...Right???
The thing is that Ben never bothered to do doubles with a girl, except from Maria who was his "regular" in a way!!!
But Ari something did to him and he couldn't let her go and the weird is that he didn't want her for only one time!!!!

Ari was a girl that she preffered to work from to go in college. She is a very closed person and she is not too much in relationships...
Her past have a black spot that refused her to relax and get calm...

From the first moment, she feels the same with Ben, but she knows that he is a player, so she doesn't expect too much than a one-night stand...
So you could imagine, how stunned she was when she discovered that Ben wanted to do more with her...
So, she alouded to herself to live that fairytale but she never let herself lose her insecurity that Ben soon or later will leave her...

And that relation was very lovely, tender, open, hot...
I really liked the development of this relationship...
It was easy and slow and everything was so right.

I liked Ben very much. His transformation was amazing... He was a boyfriend material after all...
He was sweet and kind and caring and honest and protective with Ari, but with some people that could made them bad things he was determined and a fighter...
I really liked that guy...

And Ari, beyond her insecurity and low self-respect, and she was having a very good reason for that feelings, she was the same type as Ben toward him...

I really liked them together...

And i really hated all those that were trying so hard to ruin this beautiful and powerfull thing between them!!!
And most of them all... Maria. When Ben ditch her off, she was determined to make the couple's life miserable and she wanted no matter what to make Ben hers... She was all the time in their way making awful things to split them apart. But she wasn't the only one...
The obstacles were too many and it was so unfair for them... So much that my heart broke many times as i was reading their story...

Fuck!!! I need more of Ben and Aria... NOW!!!!

OMGAAAWD!!! Amazing first novel by T.A. Roth!!
This story is your love at first sight even though they come from different worlds!

Ari is a strong girl who forgoes college to start working.. she does not do the dating scene, nor does she want a boyfriend... she has intimacy issues due to a being traumatized during childhood. Ari gets talked into going to a frat party by her BFF Vonne. While there... she feels someone watching her... she scans the room and makes eye contact with Ben... it is an intense stare, making her feel like she is drawn to him, even though every instinct tells her to run in the opposite direction...

Ben is the epitome of popular hot jock! He has no problems with the ladies... he just does not do relationships.. at all! Or so he thought... Ari has this insane pull for him.. he can not ignore it!

Ari has a huge secret... one that has shaped and tortured her soul for many years... Ben unknowlingly is helping her overcome this fear she has... and she seems to be getting over her past trauma... until... that past catches up with her!

I fell in love with the characters... they are insanely easy to fall for... they give you just the perfect amount of mystery and charm. The story (sigh!) it was just what I love... it was more reality instead of a dream.. it deals with real life, real experiences, and real places... I literally could see myself as a fly on the wall in every scene..
Ms. Roth is really witty and made me laugh a lot in this book, and at the same time, she takes you to emotional depths of nerves, angst and melt your heart and panties moments!!

I have got to tell you that the ending... it is INTENSE!!! It was completely unexpected and shocked the breath right out of me!!! Now I literally want to go all "Misery" on Ms. Roth!! I need the next story yesterday!!!

Don't let the fact that its a cliffy sway you not to read it... it is not a cliffy that leaves you hanging with the characters.. It is just the type that leaves you dying for that chapter to go on, as you know the next book is going to be like falling off a cliff into a very deep story!!

Ari she is closed off girl doesn’t really got to parties. She mostly keeps to herself and friends. She has a damaged past. Ben an all around campus hunk. He met Ari one night at the frat house. Only one word came out in his head when he thought about Ari “MINE”. Ari & Ben are great together once they finally get together. This book ahh I just wanted to punch someone. It was very sad and Happy all rolled into one. They had a lot of obstacles in their way trying to break them apart. I almost threw my kindle after that cliffhanger like really!?

I really don’t know how to feel about this book. It was kind of a disappointment. I had a lot of problems with the plot and the characters.

My first problem with this book was the instalove. Ben sees Ari and already knows she’s different. Why?? We’re talking about a 22 year-old guy who is a known player that doesn’t do relationships but as soon as he see Ari he knows she’s the one. I’m sorry, I could understand if he looked at her and thought that she was beautiful and he wanted to meet her but no, it’s worse. The same happens with Ari but her insecurities make her think she doesn’t have a chance with him.

Now let’s go to problem two with this book. This book has a lot of sex, a lot. Don’t even making me talk about the three/four chapters that were all about sex a couple of days after they met. I love new adult and I don’t have any problem with sex scenes but I thing I didn’t need to read that many chapters about a 24 hour sexapalloza (Ari’s words, not mine). I still don’t understand the need of that chapters, it’s only about them having sex, eating and thinking how right that felt. My bigger problem with this was Ari. Through out the book we know that something happened to Ari while she was a child. You would think that would make her have to deal with some things and that she might have a few intimacy issues. But I still don’t understand what’s the deal with her because if she had that kind of issues she wouldn’t have spent one weekend having sex with a guy she doesn’t know and that she knows as a player. It doesn’t make sense. For me they’re relationship didn’t make sense at all. It’s not even the sex thing it’s also they’re interactions and how jealous Ben could be sometimes. If you’ve slept with tons a girls before please don’t get all jealous when she’s talking with her ex and don’t ask her how many guys she slept with before you, okay? Also, don’t answer “You’re the only one that matters” when she asks you the same. Really, these two could really frustrate me sometimes. Now let’s talk about how lame the main conflict in this book was.

Another thing I still can’t understand is why the main conflict was Maria (Ben’s ex-booty call). First of all, Ben always said that the only thing he wanted from her was sex and nothing more and she agreed with that so when I get a few paragraphs in Maria’s POV (something that was completely unnecessary) I think I don’t need to read the two were meant to be two times in less that 30 seconds. And everything she did to break up Ben and Ari were the lamest and most predictable things ever. WHY?? It would have been so much better if the main conflict in this book was what happened to Ari when she was a kid because that’ll be a big part of book 2. Talking about book 2, I really liked the last chapter in this book that was in another character’s POV and that left this book in a huge cliffhanger. That chapter was creepy and twisted but it’s also the only reason why I might read book 2, eventually. It would have been so much better if the book this was only one book and not two because I feel this book was too dragged out. The conflicts were not that good and the way it was written also dragged out this book a lot. I love dual POVs but I don’t need Ben’s POV in which he says he can see Ari going to the bathroom line and how he can see her there to read Ari telling she’s on the way to the bathroom line right after. Once again, it was something unnecessary in this book.

I did like a few things in this book. I loved how twisted it was in the end and I loved Ari’s family and Ben’s grandma. Those were my highlights in this book. Also, sometimes the book was actually funny.

Overall, this book was a huge disappointment to me. I was expecting way more from it, especially after seeing that it has so many great review in Goodreads, but in the end it was kind of boring and frustrating. I’m not going to tell you that you shouldn’t read this book because a lot of people loved it but this one wasn’t for me.

Melanie's I'll Take Vanilla Any Day Review

A real good book that blows me to pieces means that I send text messages to my blog partner in rapid succession going wild about just how amazing it is! Say Something by T.A. Roth is THAT sorta book & goodness, do I have lots of praise to say about this author’s debut novel.

What I loved most about this book is that she took something most would consider “vanilla,” and turned it into something scorching hot. HOT like it caused my pants to melt right off of me and I felt the heat continue to linger long after the book ended. Ari is KICK ASS! I crave heroines like her. A girl next door persona with a whole lot of sass, smarts, and class. There is a darkness that surrounds Ari and when those flashbacks come through, man… Did my heart reach out to her. And to be completely honest, certain details of certain events undid me; the bile crept its way up my mouth, disgust taking root deep into my psyche. Ari is incredibly brave, she took hold of those memories and didn’t allow them to cripple her. It’s heroines like her that just blow me away. Ben Rodriguez… Hello, new book boyfriend! A big man on campus with a shining future. A one time player who knew that he’d change for the one woman with those hypnotic hazel eyes. You guys, he DISARMED me. I was putty in his strong, caring hands. I loved how completely open and honest he was about his feelings for Ari in and out of the bedroom.
Just… WOW!!!

These two together hit boiling point. Like I’ve said before, I would take their kind of vanilla over any kink out there at any time, every single day. The right blend of sweet and dirty, their hottie tottie scenes were the perfect thigh clenching formula! End of.

The plot twist that leaves off as a cliffhanger in this book I’ve got to say is by far one of the very best I’ve read. I literally yelled out– “nooooooo!!!” Arms flailing, heart skipping, mind blown. I am riding a wild kind of book hangover right now and while I usually wish for the fall season to come for fashion reasons, this year, I wish for it to come sooner because I cannot wait for the follow up, Say Nothing to be released.

One of the main reason behind why I picked this up in the first place was the blurb. I loved that the author put that question out there for us… A question that was almost a dare.

“What happens when you both have pasts that threaten the future? Do you do nothing?
Or
Do you Say Something?”

She made me want to answer that question and with a resounding yes, I am incredibly glad that I’ve been left with being able to say something(s) that could hopefully lead to many more of you out there to give this debut novel a chance. I guarantee, you will NOT regret it!

"If acting like an idiot helps her feel more comfortable around me, then call me Jim Carrey."
Wow. Ok. Can I just say... HOLY. MOTHER-CLIFFHANGER!!
This book left me speechless. I wasn't expecting it to have impacted me so much that I had to sleep on it before I had the right mind to write a review. I don't know if this will convey my overwhelming feelings for this book, but I will try.
From the very beginning my skin broke out in goosebumps for Arely. (I love her name so much! One of the best out there!) Her past is a dark one but sadly it's more common than it should be. I felt her pain and struggles deep to the core.
Ben's story is a different from hers but that doesn't mean that it's less heartbreaking. Sadly, coming from a broken family is more of a norm today as well. The quote up there is from him which gives you a glimpse of his new-found personality. I loved Ben so much that I want my own please!
I love that this book is told in both of their point of views. The chapters transition smoothly enough that the readers don't miss any important details. It didn't hurt that my heritage was thrown in there too plus that cover is to die for!
This story is about two different people learning to trust each other with their own dark pasts. Ben and Arely just took me on one of the most thrilling rollercoaster rides yet. I laughed and shed so many tears with these two. Both from joy and pain. They were just so incredibly... real, with real problems that I could personally relate to. Every hardship they faced throughout their story rattled my bones.
My tears made it a little difficult to keep reading but i refused to stop.
Until that ending just tore me to pieces.
That was one of the most powerful endings I've come across in my life. I felt it like a massive blow to the gut. My world crashed down on me and was set on fire. I'm so scared of everything else T.A. has in store for us in the second novel but all I can say is, 'bring it on' and hope I don't struggle with life any more than I already am.

22 year old Ari Munoz works hard and leads a pretty boring life. Most the people her age are enjoying college life not worrying about paying bills. However her best friend Vonne is determined to make her act her age just a little so she drags her off to a frat party. There Ari runs across the football star on campus, Ben Rodriguez.

Ben doesn't do relationships he does hook ups. However there is something different about this girl standing across the room and he has to find out what it is. Before he can blink she is gone. His only resource is Vonne who he knows through class. Ben is not someone who asks about girls but here he is trying to get info out of the girls best friend.

Soon Ben finds himself in Ari's life. Ari is determined to not let her heart get involved because she knows Ben's reputation. However, Ben seems different. Ben is determined to prove to Ari that he wants more with her. These two seem perfect together, however they face outside forces that are trying to come between them.

I really liked Ben and Ari. They are each great characters and have their own issue to overcome. There are several moving moments in the book as well as some characters that you just want to smack.

There are some things in Ari's past that are brought up but then just kind of dropped. I thought that was a little odd but then wham, TA Roth smacks you upside the head with it with a doozy of a cliff hanger. Wow, didnt see it coming. Now I cannot wait for the next book.

This is the first book that I've read by Roth and if I'm correct, it's the first book that she wrote as well. I'm not always a big fan of new authors but Roth brought some pretty cool stuff to the table. She's an author that I'll keep reading ... if she changes just one itty bitty thing.

The cool stuff that Roth brought to the table was how she wrote Say Something. For example, you experience ten minutes with the POV of Ari, the main character and then it will switch to Ben but the kicker is that it will backtrack a few minutes and then move forward. So you're able to see what is going on from both of their points of view. It really brought a whole new layer to the book and honestly, I don't think that the book would have been as great without it. That's not saying that the book isn't good, oh ... it was! This formula that Roth created just made a spectacular splash and I was really excited after I realized what was going on.

I like talking about the characters and I think I'll start with the dude this time. Ben. Oh, how I hated him at first. He was a total tool. But I found myself quickly changing my mind. It was sweet to watch him get so twisted over a girl - especially since he's such a smooth talker and woman-user. He saw only one use for women and it wasn't to be his friend or companion. There is a fine line between sexy possessive and restraining order possessive and Ben danced along that line quite a few times. I liked it. A lot. But I don't know about Ari. I don't know how I feel about her. I didn't really like her but I didn't NOT like her either. I'm not totally for sure she was a good fit for Ben. That being said ... I did like the chemistry between them most of the time.

I just can't get this POV thing out of my head. How it switched and then backtracked ... I just really loved it. It's interesting to experience situations from the view of both major characters. I did feel more connected to the characters because of it. I got a huge kick out of one of the booty calls getting their own couple of pages. Again, it was nice seeing what she was thinking during certain parts of the book. There were also a couple other characters that got their own page or two. Very cool.

I really did love this book. But I only gave it four stars for one reason. A damn cliffhanger. And it's a big one. I kind of wish that I had known from the beginning so that I could have prepared myself in advance for it. Then again, I usually don't touch a cliffhanger book with a ten-foot pole so maybe it's good that I didn't know. But it really was a big ol' pile of dung realizing that the book was just over without any kind of resolution. It is a good one though and once the entire series is out, I may get all of them at once. But it's difficult waiting and I hope that I don't forget.

Let me start by saying how disappointed I am with this novel. Seriously… it has such a good rating on Goodreads, and yet it was just so MEH! The beginning of the book was kind of exciting and somewhat funny, and while I wasn’t connecting to the writing all that much, the story was interesting enough, and so were the characters.

Then the story lost something, the characters lost depth, the writing bothered me more and more, until I was rolling my eyes like crazy. I thought some situations were ridiculous, the conflicts were a bit immature, and Ari and Ben were either moving at incredible speed, or not at all. To add to it, the writing felt repetitive and slow. I love dual POV, but I don’t necessarily need to see the same nonevent from the 2 point of views. It made the story boring to me.

The characters showed a lot of promise in the beginning, as I mentioned before, especially Ari, who had a traumatic event occur to her in her childhood, but apart from that and some fire in her when she was provoked, I didn’t find her that interesting. Ben… I don’t even know… I like the reformed players and all, and I appreciated how dedicated he was to Ari and how much he felt for her, but his whole point was living for Ari or his grandmother. He didn’t have hobbies or interests. They say he’s the president of the fraternity, but we never see him in the role, and he actually leaves the fraternity at some point without even talking to his brothers about it. I mean, what is that?!

If I could put their relationship into words, it would be something like super hot and hotter, because they do little more in the “get to know you” stage than have sex. No banter, no talks, nothing. They eventually show their connection when they’re deep in their relationship, but the “love” comes from nothing more than extreme make out sessions and a power of condoms multiplication. I mean, they can’t even kiss without panting at the end of it. Guys, I love hot relationships, I love sex in books, and I’m telling you this: description of 24 hours of sex is a bit too much!

The conflicts on this book are weak! I was so disappointed with the source of the conflict, and I honestly still can’t understand why Maria got her own POV. She added nothing to the story. NOTHING. And let’s face it, her efforts were dumb and weak.

Now, my big question is, do I want to read the sequel (given that this book ends with a creepy cliffhanger)? I kind of do, but I don’t want to be bored… what do I do? Have you read this book? Help me out here…

In her debut novel, T.A. Roth kicks off the Speak series with a powerful attraction between two people from very different worlds. Ben is the resident college playboy, president of his fraternity, and a talented athlete. He’s survived up through his senior year without forming any meaningful relationships, but always has a steady stream of ladies to keep him company. When sweet Ari arrives at his frat one night he is captivated from the very moment he lays eyes on her and something just feels different:
"Her beautiful chestnut hair is swaying just above her perfect round ass as she dances. She’s tall with curves in all the right places… I would do anything for just a taste. She’s mesmerizing and I can’t seem to keep my eyes off of her."
Ari is a young woman who has decided to forgo college to enter the working world. Unaccustomed to college life, she’s forced into it through her best friend, and when she sees Ben, the draw is undeniable. But she’s been warned off him, and Ari has a past that’s made her careful. So does she choose to keep her secrets bottled up and push Ben from her mind or does she follow her heart? Well, that’s for me to know and for the readers to find out.
Told from multiple POV’s, T.A. Roth does a superb job of engaging the reader through the eyes of Ben and Ari. Those first too long gazes and nervous stomach twinges will come to life, and you will be right there to experience them. Add this one to you Goodreads list and enjoy the ride!

The boy who doesn’t want a relationship thanks to his mom and her ways and the girl who is afraid and introverted in a way meet one night with just their eyes and romance is anew. Ben is the playah of playahs. He doesn’t do sleep overs, doesn’t care about the girl or her feelings only cares about getting what he wants and than lets the girl go. Underneath this jerky exterior is a sweet guy. He is kind and caring and loves his grandmother to pieces. He changes his ways for Ari. Ari the girl who has him wanting more but afraid to go for it. He does though and what we get is a surprisingly sweet story of two people finding out about one another and falling for each other. Ben protects and cares for Ari like there is no tomorrow that is clearly evident in the writing and when you read his thoughts you aww at times. There is more than just attraction between these two and they do take the time to find this out although the sexual intimacy is there in spades it isn’t the only intimacy we see. We see two sides of Ari. The smart sassy side and the scared insecure side. We also see the kind and sweet woman she is. She is hard working but her past has made her fear being with someone. Her insecurity has her on edge and thinking things the wrong way at times. It doesn’t help her best friend vonne told her a little about Ben before she got to know him. She used this to keep walls up. Those slowly got torn down though as ben was the perfect guy for her. He helped her through nightmares and jealousy. Was open and honest with her as well and he was always there for her. At the end in their misunderstanding, I wasn’t to thrilled with her. She didn’t listen to anyone and didn’t give Ben a chance this was almost costly and had her not be there as much as she should have for Ben. The characters are written in a way that they have layers. Each has something holding them back from taking the leap and it makes you want to peal away the layers and see what is there. I am very curious about Eli. We have some that have revenge on their minds and almost destroy something that was meant to be. We have love and loyalty as well. The ending was a wow. I have no words for that messed up moment. I hope that she doesn’t do something silly now that Ari has found love and Ben loves her back and will do anything for her. This is the endearing story of a boy who changes his ways because of the love he has for a girl. He wants to be the person he really is the person his grandma and Ari sees. This is the story of a young lady who falls for the boy who helps her deal with her past and makes her feel desired. He emboldens her and gives her confidence. This is their love story and how they came to be but with that ending I don’t know what is on the horizon for these two hopefully they are stronger than the hand that is being dealt to them right now..Look forward to book two that is for sure

What had me wanting to read this novel is the cover! Don’t you think it’s beautiful? Plus, the title is the same as one of my favorite songs! I was excited to read it, and I wasn’t disappointed (well, all throughout the novel except for the ending which I was warned that it will end in a cliffhanger)!

Ari and Ben were easy to love. You might as well give a hug to this wonderful, brave girl who had been through something at a young age, and yet was courageous enough to risk her heart and trust once again. She tries to live her life the way she wanted it, but at night, bad dreams would haunt her. I wish she’d ask for help, or tell her family about what happened.

Then there’s Ben who was hot and smart and has a promising future, totally irresistible combination. Not only that, he was thoughtful, sweet and great in bed. Yum! The first time they met, sparks flew, sexual tension rises and it was only a matter of time before they combust!

But his past was not as stellar as well, he was used to love ‘em and leave ‘em. When he finally meet the girl of his dreams, a revengeful ex is set to keep them apart.

Can their newfound romance take whatever fate throws at them?

Steamy, sweet, and a whole lot of romance – T.A. Roth got me glued to the pages, finishing this book in hours the moment I started reading it. I can’t wait until the next book in the series, the cliffhanger got my heart at the pit of my stomach: dreadful. A sense of impending doom. Uh-oh…

Nonononononono. Just no. I can't believe it!!!! I finally figured out who the guy that was haunting Ari's dreams since she was 7 years old!!!! I feel relieved but now there was a cliffhanger and it was expected -.- and the fact that I don't agave a summary for the second book or even a hint of what the second book is going to contain, gets me really mad -.-

Summary:

Chemistry
What most girls search a lifetime for…
I felt it the minute he set those whiskey colored eyes on me.
Magnetism
We had it in spades…
My body was drawn to hers the moment she set foot into the room.
What happens when you both have pasts that threaten the future?
Do you do nothing?
Or
Do you Say Something?

22 year old Ari Munoz is used to keeping men at arm's length. So when her best friend Vonne guilts her into going to a frat party, she couldn't think of a worse way to spend a Thursday night. That's until she sparks the interest of love’m and leave’m Ben Rodriguez. The electricity she feels when they lock eyes is something she's never felt before.

22 year old Ben Rodriguez has it all. He's a football star, president of his fraternity, and well known ladies’ man. His endless pick of beauties, makes him the envy of all of his fraternity brothers. So why are a pair of long legs and hazel eyes making him want to throw out all of his rules?

This book reminded me of significance with a mixture of any other romance novel I have read. I love -love at first sight- novels, I barely get a chance to read one and now that I have I am craving for the next one :) I loved all the characters (except for Maria and the stranger that did that to Ari, I won't say his name because that's a major spoiler...) anyway, I need the next book and I am just in shock!!!!

Thank you so much Netgalley for the free copy in exchange for an honest review!

I absolutely fell in love with this book. I read it all in one sitting! I loved the characters, I loved the story, I loved everything (despite the cliffhanger at the end that all but guaranteed I will most definitely have to get the second book when it comes out).

The story follows Ari and Ben on their difficult journey together. They see each other at a party at Ben’s frat house and later meet. Ben never does relationships or commitment, and Ari just hasn’t found someone for her yet. Though there are certain outside forces that are determined to work against them, they must learn to love and trust each other despite that fact.

I truly fell in love with this book. I loved that the story was told from both perspectives, and would switch from each of them often so you were never left guessing as to what the other was thinking. I also liked how occasionally the story would be told by someone other than the two main characters. I loved that the characters were different that most in other romance/new adult books. I felt that they were much more in depth than in some other books I have read. Another thing that I loved was that I didn’t feel like the story had been rushed, nor did I feel that it dragged on. It was perfect as is (though I’d prefer it not have to end ;p). I really enjoyed the way Ari and Ben were together, and boy was their relationship steamy! I just couldn’t get enough!

I could keep going on and on about what I loved about this book. I will most definitely recommend this book and I will probably read it all over again before the second one comes out. Five stars, I highly recommend.

5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!

I absolutely loved this book! I don't if any one has experienced what I call the "reading matrix". The "reading matrix" is basically like de ja vu only it has to do with my personal playlist for a book. This playlist is not something that is planned. It can only happen while I'm reading the book and certain songs remind me of the point in the story I'm reading. It happened to me yesterday. I started reading this while traveling from TX. I had a smile on my face for most of the time I was reading. I even laughed out loud a couple of times. (A little awkward when on a plane). I finally land in Newark and head to the car park. I get set to go it first have to finish the chapter I started so I don't drive myself crazy during my 1.5 hour drive home from the airport. I finish the chapter and start my car up. The song that is playing Sangria by Blake Shelton. For those who've read this already, you'll know what I'm talking about. For those who haven't, you'll totally get once you do. How freaking crazy is that? That's the "reading matrix"!

I can't wait to read the next installment! T.A. Roth has a new fan and I cant wait to read more from her! This is a Crazy Ass Must Read!!!

I don't really know where to start or what to say, my head is still stuck on that cliffhanger!!! WOW what a book, I'm never the biggest fan of 'lust' at first sight but I enjoyed the characters and the story this book told so much I overlooked it. The book begins with playboy Ben setting his sights on our good girl Ari but is shocked to find that once he has her he doesn't want to let her go. I did quite enjoy this different route where the playboy instantly recognises its different and understands a good thing when it comes along, I found that aspect to be quite refreshing. This book wasn't solely centred around his playboy aspect it had quite a few deeper storylines going on that really captured me as a reader and had me turning the pages to find out more. I was surprised by the ending and that this particular issue would pop back up in the book and become a more focused storyline for the next. It was a great and interesting twist in the story especially who the particular person turned out to be. Overall I found this to be a really well written story that was not predictable by any means and I would highly recommend this book! Also hopping there is going to be a V + E book soon!

Ari is at a frat party but according to her it's the last place she wants to be. Yes, she loves to dance but 'Axe body spray and cheap beer' isn't her scene. I had to smile at this scene, being dragged to a party you don't want to be a for your friend. Things change when she sees 'him' in the crowd. By him I mean, Ben. Frat president, bad boy jock, Ben. The exact kind of person she should be avoiding.
And the attraction is mutual. From the moment Ben sees Ari, he can't keep his eyes off her.
But how do two people with somewhat opposing lives get together.

I have to say I connected with these characters. The author does a good job of letting the reader into their minds and hearts without being too OTT. I liked Ari. She's my kind of girl and Ben was just hot. The chemistry between them sizzled and I loved both of them.

This is a good read with characters you'll root for and although I'm not a huge fan of cliffhanger endings, I'm happy to recommend this. That ending is a shocker and I'm looking forward to the next book.

This was a great book from a first time author! I couldn't even tell it was her first book. From the beginning, I was hooked. I'm not going to provide a play by play...you've gotta read it, but I loved the way a working girl, who bypassed college for her family, is able to snag the USC football player. Just like any relationship, there are obstacles to overcome, but what a story! I've read this story a few times, and my daughter, who's in college, loved it as well.
I recommend it to everyone I talk too. The writing feels like the author's telling me the story. 5 Stars for sure! Can't wait for Book 2!

What a terrific debut novel! This is a great bad boy/good girl love story. Characters are complex and well developed with secrets that Ari would like to keep hidden. I kept thinking I knew what was coming nest only to be surprised at the turn of events. I don't like cliffhangers (because I'm impatient) so I'm really excited for the next book in the series!

I really tried with this and hate a book beating me but this was a dnf. I don't usually rate them if I don't finish, but as I got over 60% in I did this time.

I didn't like the character at all, didn't relate to them and felt the story line has been done too many times before to consider it 'new' or 'different'.
