Set in the vicious drug addled clutches of the Belmonte estate The Abandoned is a novel that will completely possess you. It is then that the charming Dominic Grey moves to the Belmonte and Jenna feels that she could possibly be finding the inner strength to move on from her unrequited love of Craig. But it is only when the question of paternity arises when Jenna’s daughter Kiki is kidnapped does the truth about that fateful night start unravelling. The lives of the Belmonte residents will never be the same as they realise that Craig is very much alive and is now a millionaire mogul. This vicious love triangle based in the seedy London underworld will captivate you, compel you and leave you completely abandoned.
Sammy Carter a drug addict mother of two left in the care of her mother Claire Horran was only interested in her next fix. The Belmonte Estate was full of vulnerable drug addicts no hopers. Jenna Shearan only had loved one man that was Craig Carter Sammys brother who was cruelly stabbed by Johnny Fenton but there's a lot more into this story as you read on. This book is something different and was just what I was looking for. It's not for the faint hearted, drugs, sex, child abduction, stabbings it has everything. A fast pace , mind blowing, hard hitting with so many twists and turns. Now I'm ready for the second Dirty Deeds. Loved it.
I was determined to finish this even though the punctuation and spelling mistakes were horrendous. This book has obviously not had a proof reader as in some chapters the author forgot the name and sex of the character. This book left me confused totally. The story line was very bland. One of the worst books that I've read.
This is one emotional roller-coaster of a ride. There were times I wanted to bang Jenna and Craig's heads together but it all works out in the end..... Or does it....
My opinion, you should read this but, be prepared to cancel plans, stay up late and fight sleep for this is an excellent start to the Craig Carter series. Now on to book 2 🙂
Don't be discouraged by the length of time it took me to read this book. It wasn't at all like that. The story line flowed, and so did the characters. I am an Author and Editor and hadn't had time to finish much of my reading list. Now I am catching up!
All I can say is I'm looking forward to the second book.
This story was a little bit of a tear jerker. I felt a very strong emotional connection to Jenna as she told her story of her life without her best friend and love of her life Craig; taken away from her and his family and friends way too soon. Caught up in the criminal work of Drugs and Gangs. She's always loved Craig, but they never officialised as such. She takes you through a whirlwind of memories and present day struggles as they all try and move on with their lives without him. A new neighbour temps Jenna, and then quickly brought down to the hell that is the truth. How can love be so cruel and unjust?
This was an ok start to the trilogy about Craig Carter. It sets tell various family dynamics out easily enough. The main characters being Craig (obviously), Claire (Craigs mum), Jenna ( Best friend with benefits) and Dom ( third part of the love triangle). Craig Carter is initially a selfish young chav, who cakes his own death, only to come back as a selfish slightly older young man.......... There was some grammatical and spelling errors, so maybe the proof reading could have been done a little better
A bit to much in depth about sex I sometimes felt like I was reading fifty shades of grey also spelling errors and getting names mixed up so frustrating
