First, thank you Paige for allowing me to read this early. This story had me questioning everything and completely hooked from the start. I enjoyed it so much that I immediately went back for a second read — and I’m glad I did because I caught so many small details I missed the first time. At only 70 pages, it’s a quick read, but it’s packed with intrigue, tension, and clever details. In my opinion, this is absolutely worth rereading.

A tense, razor-sharp thriller about a woman who discovers her husband is planning her murder — and decides she’s not the victim he expected. The slow-burn dread, calculated revenge, and ticking 28-hour timeline make this impossible to put down. Hannah’s quiet rage is the real weapon here.

Now the real question is: what would you do if the person you trusted most had already decided your fate?

Devoured this. I am always afraid of giving something crucial away in a review. It read cleanly and I always wanted to read a few more pages.

I also enjoyed the Elena Drake series (trilogy) and looking forward to "I Took Care of It" in a few weeks :)

I never thought I would enjoy this style of thriller. I have to admit to some poor male assumptions- that it would be melodramatic and 'girly' .
- since trying these stories with strong female protagonists i have quite gladly been proven wrong.

Found this author on BookFunnel. Have quickly downloaded all of her stories from there. I enjoy the fast pace. Just when I think I can figure out what should happen next I’m wrong. Love the ending.

The Night She Chose: A Psychological Thriller, my fourth short 72-page psychological thriller from author Paige Monroe. “I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book & am reading it & voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I'll be reading more from this author as they're published. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

I read this short story as an ARC and this is my review.Hannah finds a burner phone hidden in the dresser drawer, she believes he is arranging her murder. No panic, no screaming, and no confrontation. She is wrong. Well-written, fast paced, great story! A WOW read!

Definitely not a cozy!

Not a mystery since you know who is planning/doing what but has twists to keep you engaged.

I didn't see the final twist coming.

I wondered the whole way, which direction the author would take. A perfect murder if there was ever one.

This was a twisty turny novella with lots going on. I enjoyed this short read and the unexpected history the story had. It will keep you turning the pages and getting deeper into the read.

This was a free ARC from the author that I reviewed voluntarily.
